Due to lack of an outcry by bloggers and citizenry in general, the Democrats elected the same three who stifled open government in 2007 and 2008,… back in to chair things during 2009.
All three were unopposed in their party’s caucus. This year there are not enough Republicans to make a difference when they vote them in at a later date.
Karen Peterson did not vote. I think her comment was that none of them supported open government anyway….
I cannot shake the silly notion that if everyone reading this post, just mailed Adams a dildo with open government stenciled on the side, and we leaked the details of that protest to the national media, it would be considered a very appropriate form of protest, considering the situation……….
It would forever alter the way Senator Adams would be remembered by history and by his posterity.

Matter of fact, you can just buy one online, and send it straight to him as a gift.

There is a lot of criticism lumped on Senator Adams and my concern is not so much whether it is appropriate ,but whether it is effective in moving the open government agenda . It sometimes seems it has become more important to some to demonize Adams than it is to figure out ways to move the issue forward. I am wondering if somehow he could be approached from the point of view of what community organizer Saul Alinsky used to call “enlightened self- interest”.
I don’t think he is anywhere near supporting the open government agenda, but I don’t think an argument has been made that would convince him, as opposed to just trashing him because he disagrees.
The story alluded to in the link below is that he voted for the original “Sunshine Law” back in the 1970s only after getting concessions for a traffic light in his district might be instructive. He says the story is a joke, but I think it is telling.
It is possible that the only way the goal is achieved is by some people doing the right thing for their own reasons with the key being finding out what those reasons are and acting upon them, rather than assuming everyone has to be totally pure of heart for good things to happen.

John, I think your line of reasoning is well thought out, but would be ineffective in a vacuum. I believe it can only work as a back door escape while the full assault is aimed and prepared to charge through the front door.
We all have parts to play… See what you can work out?… It would be nice to settle without casualties.

It would take someone in Dover to find out motivations and find ways to have the motivations acted on.
My personal contact with what goes on in Dover is rare and mostly remote these days.
