One can see the split between those who grew up still under the New Deal, and those who came after Conservative Reaganomics…. It is enough to make one cry…..

We knew this but it  is now being published… and so it is in the news.

The world is getting warmer… and we can now predict our climate by looking at map at 300 miles south and guessing what our weather will be from that…

Just as plate tectonics and  Darwin’s origin of the species were able to lay the groundwork of reason  for explaining puzzling observations, this simplifies what to expect from global warming rather startlingly.

Texas is now  what we alway thought of when we considered the weather of Mexico; Oklahoma is now West Texas; Kansas is now Oklahoma; Nebraska is now Kansas; South Dakota is now Nebraska, North Dakota is now South Dakota: Southern Manitoba is now North Dakota…..

If  West Texas had 3 days of rain, now Oklahoma is getting 3 days of rain;  If it snowed 12  times in South Dakota, it is now doing the same in North Dakota… and so on.

So, to predict our heat, rain, winters, etc, our guide would be North Carolina.  Longer growing seasons,  some winters with no snow, hot summers…

However due to Global warming, the East Coast has a caveat.  An anomaly so to speak  and actually some relief from the North Carolina summer heat we would normally expect….

With the unprecedented melting of the Arctic and Greenland icecaps dumping its excess into the Labrador Current, that cold water drops South hugging the East Coast shoreline all the way down to North Carolina’s Outer Banks where it finally becomes neutralized…   Therefore even though we have hotter air masses, the colder ocean temperatures creates a buffer against Global warming off the entire northeastern US.

Europe, Japan, and Alaska all experience  the same mitigating effect, although with both Greenland and the Arctic Icecaps melting into the Labrador, the US East Coast gets a stronger volume of cold water.  Call it our icy shower effect….

Once melting stops and the currents dry up, we return to the North Carolina scenario of the twentieth century….

So, we in Delaware really get the best climate on the East Coast.    Warm winters, little or no snow, and cool breezy summers….. as well as a longer growing period, and… less dependence on fossil fuels for winter heating.

Gee, global warming isn’t so bad for Delaware after all….  Oh, the rising seas?  There you go again… Why did you have to spoil the rosy picture I was painting?

Did you read the News Journal in depth article about how much damage the Sequester is going to cause Delaware?  About how people now, because of a vengeful and traitorous party has gummed up Congress on purpose, that now American servicemen are going to be taking a 20% pay cut?

Are you one?  And if not, living here in Delaware, do you know someone who is in the National Guard?  The  Air Force?  Will they stop coming into your business now, in order to make sure they can still keep their house?

How much sales will you lose,  1%?  2%?  5%?  10%? 25%?  50%?  75%?  95%?    Will you also go broke for the same reason?  Because of a vengeful traitorous party that gummed up Congress on purpose, that now, American servicemen are going to be taking a 20% pay cut?

Everyone knows the deal.

“You didn’t vote for Romney; now we are going to f*ck you up….”

Billionaires are sooooooooooooopoooooooooooo much more important than you………

Btw, you can register yourself tomorrow as a Democrat or Independent here…..

I'm Grover And I will be your keynote speaker today

In an insightful meeting at the Delaware Republican’s Lincoln Day dinner Saturday night, Grover Norquist, the featured speaker, came to give the locals an idea of what was going on in Washington…..

More gridlock.  More obstruction. More intransigence,  In his speech, the prime points were that there would be no compromise.  Republicans were dedicated to seeking full sequestration.  They were going to cut spending no matter what was going to happen.  They don’t care if Dover AFB is going to close; its a good thing because the military budget will be cut in half.  They don’t care if Highway funding is going to be fully put all upon the states; sequestration is going to cut the budget  in half.  They don’t care if there will be no beach rebuilding this summer; Republicans are going to cut the Federal budget in half.  There will be no agriculture support payments; Republicans are going to cut them in half.  There will be no Federal Medicare or Medicaid payments reimbursements made to the states; Republicans are going to let sequestration cut them in half.  When heaven forbid, an oil tanker turns the beaches and marshes of Rehoboth to Ocean City Md, into this century’s Valdez calamity, Both state’s will have to use their general fund to clean it up; the Republicans are going to say no to all new money…. Remember the last East Coast hurricane relief?  You were lucky, was the implication. Forget about any more for any storms in the future…

On the revenue side, huge tax breaks must continue going to oil companies and oil hedge funds; Republicans are going to say taxes were raised too much already.  Huge off-shore tax breaks will be maintained by billionaires and millionaires; after all taxes are raised too much already for any more loopholes to be closed.  (If pressed, they might do away with the mortgage interest deduction since that doesn’t affect billionaires; it only affects the middle class so it won’t create any economic impact.. The implication was that Republicans will do that if necessary, but at the bottom of the upper class; that is where they draw the line… )  The clear message was: it is time to make the poor suffer more; after all, the rich have suffered too much already.

More gridlock.  More obstruction. More intransigence,

“You can’t have compromise when both parties are going in the opposite directions.”  said Grover.  “It doesn’t do any good to say no, no, no, …yes.  It has to always be no, no, no… no.

More gridlock.  More obstruction. More intransigence,

There was little that was new.  Grover did express hope that as the Obama/McCain wave of democratic Senators comes up for a vote this next election, many in traditional Red states, playing a no-gain defense until the new team comes on board, is their best option.. Grover Norquist also made the point that due to the Republican redistricting, the red districts will outnumber the blue in the House until the next redistricting in ten years.

A decade of decadence is a long time.

Grover did bring up an interesting concept.   That we have red states and blue states and they will be a laboratory of who is right, red or blue… We will see within these experiments whether theology can trump economics, whether philosophy can support a family, or whether an idle belief, can pay the bills….  He seems to believe that side by side experimentation will bode well for the red states instead of the blue.  He is thinking only as a rich person.  We shall see if voters agree with him, if they prefer living in a first class blue state or would rather forebear a third world red state…. His idea will backfire…

He praised Indiana erroneously, calling that a school choice state.  Instead voters threw out their gung-ho school-choice education head and replaced him with a Democrat who is going slow..  He praised Indiana’s privatization plan of the Indiana Turnpike without mentioning this road had not had upgrades to it in over 5 years. It is called the most dangerous Turnpike in America. (The money collected is going to the investment bankers)…  He derided California which has finally achieved a balanced budget.  He praised Wisconsin’s eradication of public unions without mentioning that because of Scott Walker’s governmental pay cuts, the economy in Wisconsin was collapsing while all others were bouncing back from the recession.  So though his scenario as presented painted a glowing picture to those Republicans seated before him, it was full of errors.

But I confess, I agree with his premise.  I too would like to see vindication that in order to run a stable economy you need what’s been missing: a balance between profits, taxation, and job growth and the only way to achieve that is to tax the top echelon much, much more so they reinvest in their state to avoid paying higher taxes…..  As was just done in California, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland; all economies that are now rising while those of red states are falling or staying the same.

Unfortunately we will have to make the states our laboratory.  We will have no choice but to rely upon the state level to analyze what is working and what is not and then derive from pure evidence, which one of our two parties we need to completely eradicate and do away with…. so government can begin to compromise and to work again.

For on the national scale, Grover promised it: All we are going to have is….. More gridlock.  More obstruction. More intransigence,

We will have it; because Mr. Norquist said so. He promised it in a keynote address, at Dover Downs in Dover Delaware on February 9th, 2013….

I want some bread, man Can you give me some bread
Right click for full view.

In isolated argument the idea of school vouchers has appeal. If you can’t get the education you need, you go somewhere else to get it. The idea is that this forces those losing students to change in order to attract them back.

Everyone gets a better education.

There is a huge problem with that argument. I will use Hurricane Sandy to point it out.

Before Hurricane Sandy struck, everyone went shopping the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday before. By Sunday night, there was no bread in New Castle County. In every store, the shelves were empty.

At first it was the cheap bread that went. The dollar loaves which are the first pick of most bread eaters. As those were gone, then the basic bread of private bakers went, the brand names. Soon all the white bread was gone, and the wheat began disappearing. After the wheat was gone, the gourmet breads began disappearing, the 5 grains, the 7 grains, the 12 grains, the hearty grains… Then went the ryes, the Jewish ryes, the pumpernickels. Many people who came for white bread, who’d never paid $4 dollars a short loaf before, were snapping it up. When all the bread was sold out, hamburger buns went, hot dog buns went, dinner rolls went, starting from cheap all the way up to Arnold’s and Pepperidge Farms… The last person coming in to pick up a loaf of bread, got gourmet pumpernickel hot dog buns with oatmeal sprinkled on top…

You walked in Sunday night, October 28th, 2012… the shelves were bare…. from one end to the other….

How does this correspond to vouchers?

If everyone has the option of taking a voucher to improve their child’s education, you’ve created a crises and a lack of supply.

The best schools are snapped up first, then the 2nd best, then the 3rd, the 4th, the 5th, and at last the inner city schools being the last to go… So those shopping first get the good deal. Those say out of town, arriving late and picking out a school before the deadline, are stuck… And some, because of a shortage of schools, go without.

There was bread on the shelves the next day. But a school system that mis-allocates a student deals with that problem for a full year, seriously setting back the development of that child and possibly the room he is in….

The problem with school vouchers, is as a system, it doesn’t work. Oh it works for one individual. But it only helps the first in line. After that, it is all downhill.

For if you gave every bread shopper a number based on whether their purchase matched their expectation, those getting the store brand for a dollar would rate a +1, then if one settled for their second choice they’d get -1. Third choice would equal -2. Fourth choice a -3 and so on down the line. The total of the negative numbers would quickly balance the positive ones, making the total value of all zero, and then continue bringing the entire total further into the negative with every new purchase…. In the same way, school vouchers after the good schools were full, would increase the negatives to a point so big, they would soon swallow up any positive advantage the voucher program had every given…..

So as we approach the teaching crises. we must ask ourselves how we wish to be judged. Do we want to mandate that we will always have bread on our shelves, with plenty of choices for all? Or do we want to let anarchy or random chance decided who gets ahead, and who gets left behind?

So, why has no one looked at voucher’s impact on an entire school system before?

When I was young, and I haven’t been able to find it, we were forced to read a short story about Death Valley. It was supposedly taken from a diary found next to stripped skelatons, that told of a party lost in the desert, which found an oasis, drank the clear cool water, then got poisoned because it was toxic with arsenic…..

That is what the Tea Party has done for the Republican Party.

Had the Tea Party never been formed, there is a good likelihood that Romney would now be the President-elect. Think about that for a minute. Everything Romney was pummeled for, came from the Tea Party contingent. If a nice man had simply stood up, with Obama’s economic record, that nice man might have won by default. But, every Tea Party issue the Republicans took on, generated more voters against that plank, than it did for.

No taxes; More voters think taxes should be raised on the wealthy.
No Abortions: more voters think the government should continue to make contraception free.
No Government: Hurricane Sandy showed what a disaster that would be.
No Evolution: More people believe science over politicians. Evolution and Global Warming are real.
Put Religious Fanatics in Control: More Americans feel that is too risky.

As a result, Obama won by the 6th largest landslide in American history. People really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, and unequivocally, hate the Tea Party.

I’ve always said the Tea Party was on the right track. Only difference between the two of us, is that they blame government for being in bed with corporate henchmen, and I blame the corporate henchmen for seducing the politicians and infiltrating government. On that and views on science, we differ.

But, they blew up. Glenn Beck, blew up. Rush Limbaugh, blew up, Christine O’Donnell, blew up. Rupert Mourdock, blew up. Todd Akins, blew up. Ann Coulter, blew up. Michelle Malkin, blew up. Especially karl Rove on Fox News… blew up..

There is a reason some people are the last to get picked on a pickup team. They are creepy. And that is todays Tea Party…

The Tea Party is the significant reason Congress today is divided. It is impossible for Republicans to get any majority in the Senate, because the Tea Party sets every one against them.

This metaphor explains why. Imagine if instead of winning Germany in 1932, the Nazi Party was just a minor party in the Reichstag. Assume they had one plank in their platform: Banish all Jews. Assume they were aligned with the Republican Party of Germany because it was small, and Jews were a big bloc of the German Democratic Party… Because the Republicans needed the Nazi’s to have a majority, they entertained their notion of banishing all Jews. The Republicans griped it was a necessary evil that had to be tolerated, and longed for the day, it would die on its own… But because of that one embarrassing group, the whole Republican Party kept getting bashed in every election, getting smaller, and smaller, and smaller, and smaller, and smaller…

Finally they eject the Nazi’s who quickly die from lack of oxygen. Upon the next election, Republicans make great gains. You see, people weren’t real happy with the Democrats either, but as long as Nazi’s were in the Republican Party, the Democrats were the lesser of the two evils….

The Tea Party Congress, the soon to be historical name for the 112th Congress, will have the notoriety of being the worst Congress held in public esteem, ever since public esteem was invented back in the 1940’s. An approval rating of 9%. 9%. That is what the Tea Party did to government.

The fiscal cliff today drags on. Because as Obama put it so well today, the Tea Party won’t compromise. No surrender is their motto, which may sound great if it is the same philosophy as the rest of the country’s, but it isn’t. We are witnessing the childish two year old tantrum of a immature group that can’t get everything it wants. Like a two year old child, it sits down on the Capitol floor, and screams, screams, screams, screams, screams, screams….. Like that two year old child, because no one comes up and kicks him in the head and instead everyone tries to plead with him to stop, he thinks he is doing the right thing!

As I said, it was the Tea Party that destroyed Republican chances at the White House, and kept them from taking the Senate. How much longer will the Republicans try to bargain with this two year old?

Perhaps they could find some Arsenic to put in its baby bottle?

At the Democratic Convention, Bill Clinton said: “Do the math.” He used the word Arithmetic.

Top states with meth busts.
Missouri went Republican.
Tennessee went Republican.
Indiana went Republican.
Kentucky went Republican.
Oklahoma went Republican.
Illinois went Democratic.
Iowa went Democratic.
Michigan went Democratic.
North Carolina went Republican.
South Carolina went Republican.

The next down the list were Republican states Kansas and Texas.

Keep this in mind as the figures get thrown around as we approach the fiscal cliff.

Democrats do the math. Republicans do the meth…

i had fun with the binders. And the Libya thing, is so blown out of the water… Like we are going to get rid of the greatest president ever, because one ambassador was murdered. Like we are going to decide the election upon s slip up over women in binders…. A hundred years from now, students will be reading in their textbooks, and the first African American President, was losing until, his opponent made a slip during the second debate. He said “bring me binders of women.” and from that point, no one chose to vote for him..”

This election is about growing jobs.

As a reminder here is a list of those who grew jobs, and those who didn’t.
First the growers:
Roosevelt
Truman
Eisenhower
Kennedy
Johnson
Nixon
Ford
Carter
Reagan (second term)
Clinton
Obama

Here is a list of those who lost jobs on their term.

Reagan (first term)
Bush 1
Bush 2

Obama wants to do what the first group did. Reasonable taxes and reasonable expenses.

Romney/Ryan aren’t saying what they will do. We have to guess. But if you take Ryan’s budget, he will put us into the second group.

Romney wants to do what the second group did. Cut taxes and cut expenses to unreasonable levels.

History shows us what happens when you try doing this to an economy.

If you like the Blue, vote for Obama; If you like the Red, then Romney/Ryan is for you

Voting for Romney is like marrying a spouse before you know if they have herpes. Don’t you think we should know what he’s hiding, before we say…” I do”….

Most of America agrees with me. What is holding you back?

Jobs Grow Better When All Republicans are Gone

Here is the problem… The red on top of the line must equal the red on the bottom line before we can go forward. Currently there is now more red on the top of the line. We are indeed better off than we were four years ago. More of us are working…… 325,000 more of us incidentally.

This shows a more disturbing trend. This document does not go far enough back into the Bush administration files, but if one does follow, one sees red below the line all the way back to when Clinton handed off the reins to Bush. That was the last time we had red above the line until we (whoo hoo) just happened to vote for the greatest president in our lifetimes and his accompanying party, the Democratic one…

The Capitalist Party (formerly called the Republicans) don’t really care about jobs. As Capitalist’s (formerly called Republican’s) they care about earnings per dollar. Jobs are a side effect, but when too many people impact their earnings per dollar, they get rid of them. When unions impact their earnings per dollar, they get rid of them. when the Chinese impact their earnings per dollar, they run to them, ignoring the slave conditions those human beings must endure in order to line the Capitalist’s (formerly known as Republican’s) pockets….

When can Capitalist’s (formerly called Republicans) grow jobs? Only when they build a new plant here in the USA. Once it gets built, they have no use for the builders. they have no use for the opening team, they have no use for those extras needed to fill in when someone quits. Once it gets built, they fire people. They like to “fire people Romney says”. (yeah, I know, I’m disingenuous).

If one looks back over the economic data from WWII one sees job growth steady until Ronald Reagan (benefit of doubt given to Nixon_Ford because of oil embargo).. As soon as Reagan got elected, we entered a horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible recession. People got termed left and right. Democrats in Congress were persuaded to lower taxes because of the economy. We had one year of growth. 2006, and then the slide. The 2008 tax law (a low 28% top marginal rate), immediately sucked out and flattened growth and sent it on a skid; we entered the worst recession until Bill Clinton raised taxes and instantly, we began our climb out. It was instantaneous as anyone who foolishly bet on the stock market against Bill Clinton, can well attest. Taxes on the wealthy are the most awesome thing ever created by mankind. The climb continued, America reached new heights of prosperity, and growth seemed like an endless proposition… That is, until the Bush tax cut. Growth stopped. Construction got laid off. And we began our descent. During the Bush years our descent was modified by a housing bubble the Capitalists (formerly called Republicans) created; we borrowed against their newly increased estimated value to survive and keep our Clintonian Standard of Living; it was also blunted by two trillion dollar wars, (imagine being given a credit card with unlimited balance on it; “whoo hoo, livin’ it up, baby” spoken in Donviti style).) As soon as the Capitalist (formerly known as Republicans) were kicked out, the debt became due.

Bottom line, is on the chart above, Capitalists (formerly called Republicans) had a job slump in negative numbers stretching back across the time spans of two of these charts added on to the right.

So when Mitt Romney accuses our Commander in Chief, SURE YOU GREW JOBS, BUT YOU DIDN’T GROW JOBS FAST ENOUGH, one has to point out how his own policies under George W. Bush, did nothing to grow jobs either…. In fact, Mitt Romney’s policies, cost America jobs. (See the evidence in the red below the line in the graph above).

But if you don’t already know that Capitalist’s (formerly called Republicans) economic policy is nothing more than a smokescreen for getting all the money out of your pocket and into theirs, then you aren’t reading this blog… There are still dumb people out there who still believe in Republican values; they just can’t read….

If you do read this, it can be assumed that you already know that every single economic fact ever truthfully told, shows that if you take money out of the middle class, your economy fails. It doesn’t matter if you are a Capitalist (formerly known as Republican)… or a Communist. If you take money out of the middle class, your economy falls….

So how does one put money back into the Middle Class? It’s one word but I’ll say it twelve times, one for each term it has been in effect: Democrats, democrats, democrats, democrats, democrats, democrats, democrats, democrats, democrats, democrats, democrats, democrats…..

That is how one puts money back onto the middle class and grows one’s nation and ones economy…

Don’t take my word for it. Look at the chart above! And just imagine how wonderful it would be if we had not had a Capitalist (formerly known as Republican) House of Representatives intent on tubing the economy just to make Obama looked bad? Imagine how great our results would now be, if they had. instead chosen to help America get back up on its economic feet, instead of kickin’ our ass with their pointy cowboy boots, while we were down?

One word leads to more jobs and Economic Growth. Democrats.

(I know who reads this blog… that is a treat for you, from the archives of yesteryear….)

This is a theory, but I’ve seen the cracks… Sort of like predicting an earthquake from a series of tremors….
Today Chris Matthews broke from script with Andrea Mitchel and just ranted truth….

We know the American media has scripted every political show it brings on. It is all to present an image… In this case we fully expect the media to take up the fight the Republican Convention failed to advance. That message, you are worse off, it is all Obama’s fault, Romney is the only Grand Wizard who can lead us out…….

It falls apart on three fronts…

One not all of us are worse off than 4 years ago… If your income primarily derived from capital gains, you have never had a better four years. If your income comes from the stock market, you have never had a better four years. With taxes so low, and profits so high, there never has in the lifetime of America, been a better time to be worth more than 10 million…..

For the rest of us, it’s a different story; it’s hard supporting millionaire on an income under $50,000 a year…….

The second plank doesn’t hold up well, as Ryan soon found out… What Ryan didn’t get, was it is easy to lie in Congress… all you have there are DUMB reporters who write down what you say… and then, no one ever reads it…. It is different on National Television to say…. Obama caused the debt ceiling to lower when actually the person responsible for having Standard and Poors report say “the US Government was hopelessly deadlocked” was …. the same Paul Ryan? Why yes… it was… ( Didn’t realize we were paying attention back then, did you?) So, the American people at least know that Obama has been on their side, and if it weren’t for the Tea Party, the 9/11 Patriots (fake groups supported by billionaires) and Republicans, we WOULD be better off than 4 years ago, even if we WERE making under 10 million dollars…..

The third plank that crashed and burned, was that Mitt Romney was the Grand Dragon who would lead us out of the Economic Wilderness…. When pressed as to how, he gave the standard Republican’s 1st grade answer, … “I don’t know,” and then changed the subject of the question….

Today he put his plan on-line… For the expediency of time, I’m going to take one plank to show you how much thought he actually put into it before rolling it out to a public, that… does remember…

Under energy. Mitt says… We will roll back all regulations preventing the development of coal.

Well, being knowledgeable of some of those regulations on coal, which weren’t there in the beginning but were put there by people to curb the excess that unregulated coal production caused…… Here are a few of those….

Coal is a very, very, very, very, very, very, very, dirty fuel

Ewwww. You want to take us back to that? Mr. Romney…. America has its rules in place for a reason… China doesn’t have any rules… We don’t want to live like China…..

This is the best Romney can do…

The new sensation is that the media is starting to crack. Journalists fed up over not doing journalism by their bosses, are beginning to suffer the curse of Judus, and realize that they were the direct cause that led to all that happened…

My message to them… Repent while you still can…..

We can watch it on TV…. They have a knowledgeable audience this session, who can smell a media lie when it gets shoved into their face…. The brave ones are jumping ship now…..

(and how I do harken back to when guitar chords ruled the song….)
