They are Senator Dave Sokola, Senator Gary Simpson, Senator Greg Lavelle, Senator Henry, Senator Bushweiller, and Senator McDowell… Three of these Senators have predominantly Afro-American districts. Two others, Sokola and Lavalle are sycophants of almost all white and wealthy, who will do anything to garner corporate monies’ attention. And to this day, Simpson is an anomaly.
These 6 voted to re segregate Delaware’s schools into all white with exemplary teachers and financing…. and all black with the worst possible teachers and almost zero financing…. About as segregated as one can get. Here is what 170 civil rights groups had to say about what these Senators just did………( more on Exceptional Delaware)
“We respectfully disagree that the proliferation of high stakes assessments and top-down interventions are needed in order to improve our schools. We live in the communities where these schools exist. What, from our vantage point, happens because of these tests is not improvement. It’s destruction.”
What Margaret Rose Henry just voted for; what Harris McDowell just voted for; what Brian Bushweller just voted for: was destruction of that which had been previously fought and won: to get rid of a two tiered school system where rich whites get one level of education; impoverished blacks get another. In their defense, the reason they voted such is that they were lied to by certain groups, formed, financed, and supported solely by corporations with ties to the educational field, who told them that allowing opting-out as a right, would be detrimental to black children… 3 of these had hearts in the right places, but where their heads were, smh, who can tell…..
They should have listened to responsible sources. Not corporate shills. The responsible sources spoke clearly and loudly.
“High stakes standardized tests have been proven to harm Black and Brown children, adults, schools and communities. Curriculum is narrowed. Their results purport to show that our children are failures. They also claim to show that our schools are failures, leading to closures or wholesale dismissal of staff. Children in low-income communities lose important relationships with caring adults when this happens. Other good schools are destabilized as they receive hundreds of children from closed schools. Large proportions of Black teachers lose their jobs in this process, because it is Black teachers who are often drawn to commit their skills and energies to Black children. Standardized testing, whether intentionally or not, has negatively impacted the Black middle class, because they are the teachers, lunchroom workers, teacher aides, counselors, security staff and custodians who are fired when schools close.”
According to 170 Civil Rights organizations, these six voted to:
- Harm black and brown chidren
- To narrow curriculum
- To label black and brown children as FAILURES
- To close schools teaching the poor and black
- To dismiss large scale Afro-American staff in these schools
- To force children to lose important relationships with caring and competent adults
- To fire LARGE NUMBERS OF BLACK TEACHERS so they can replace them with white college kids still green behind their ears.
- To continue putting the squeeze on the black Middle Class, pushing opportunities further and further over to better educated whites..
- To care nothing for black teachers, black lunchroom workers, black teacher aides, black counselors, black security staff and black custodians who are fired when schools get closed because of the Smarter Balanced Assessment.
Whereas 3 of these six are benigh, two of these six are evil.. I’m sure you already recognize Dave Sokola and Greg Lavelle… Both of these are financial beneficiaries of charter schools which sweep in, destroy the public school system, then abandon all the children and bug-out, counting fist-fulls of dollars in the process… We know this from Philadelphia. Cleveland, Milwaukee, Washington, DC and Chicago… Citizens’ groups there are fighting back and winning but they are only regaining scorched earth. Which is why charter investors are now moving down here into new territory, where their lies have more power because the truth is still unknown…..
Well, …..it worked against Margaret Rose Henry, Brian Bushweller, and Harris McDowell…… normally always passing pro-black legislation.
You, the people, have got to set them straight…… Tony Allen? That is not the voice of the Afro American Wilmington community… What does he know of Hilltop? What does he know of Northeast? What does he know of South Bridge?
Just listen to families first, from those areas above, who have already lived through what you are proposing …. before you go chopping heads off of little black children to save your own…..
No, it is not a day to slice one’s arms. It is the NFL’s day of saying you are on the team, or you are off…. The training camps are over, the preliminary games are done; the next games are for real….
This is something that happens in sports on a regular basis. Those who can lead the team forward get to stay, and those who drag it behind, get the pink slip…..
No one would expect it to go the other way…
Yet in our nation’s politics, the other way seems to happen more than not… The House Republicans have forced Congress to be the least productive in history, had wasted millions on political investigations, only to have them all come up empty-handed; have shut down government and cost the economy $24 billion; by stating they were going to default on America’s debt, one house lowered our credit rating. And we got nothing resolved for it; the only thing the Republican Congress has done is kick the debt ceiling up the road… It comes due again after the election.
America could be so much better if there were fewer Republicans. It is America’s duty to make sure the team we put on our field, is the best one we can possibly find. Stocking it with losers does no one any good at all.
We need the best… and that means people who will put effort into making big plays, not those ones sitting on the bench, refusing to play unless their absurd demands are met…..
It’s cut day for Congress too…. You need to cut them….
This was in his editorial:
“One of the best investments the business community can make is to simply share our knowledge of leadership, goal-setting and time management. “
Business community: shall we present your knowledge of leadership?
“I don’t care if you do think it’s a really stupid piss poor idea that will destroy my business. It’s my way or the highway… Wait a minute. You’re fired! So it’s the highway. There! I decided it for you!.. Seriously, how about them apples?…”
Business community: shall we present your knowledge of goal setting…?.
“Um. If they meet their goal, they will all get lazy afterwards and not want to do anything… I know, I’ll raise the goal 4 gazillion times higher than anyone can possibly achieve in reality!… Then I’ll fire them for not meeting it… That should keep them scared of me and on their toes…”
Business community: shall we present your knowledge of time management?
“Holy piss! Grading these motherfvcking papers? I’m not doing them, they can kiss my fvcking a$s. I don’t have time for that s\it… I gotta tee off at 2:30…..”

Somehow… I think as far away, as we can keep businesses from our kids while they are growing up…. the better all will be…. Kids have the right to grow up right.
Our children can learn what real assholes are, AFTER college is finished…. like, duh,… when it’s time to enter the…… business world…… heavens. Who in their screwed-up mind still thinks that businesses are something holy to still be venerated? Duh… How long has it been since Cheney took over our country? Fourteen years now?
Exclusive: I accidentally clicked on a link and got sent down this path… It is unlikely you know anything about it. You may remember that at sometime last year, in excavating for a parking garage some bodies were found in Britain. Being a mass grave, the original contention was the corpses came from the time of the Black Plague...
Believe it or not, those bodies were exhumed, and in the tissue we found the organism responsible. We ran its genetics. The gene code casts serious doubts upon the rat /flee stories we’ve always been told. And with what we know about disease today, it could not have spread as rapidly as it did, had it not been airborne…. it’s deadliness has been unsurpassed in recorded time. Its kill rate was as high as 6 out of 10. … it took Europe 150 more years to catch up again to where it had been when the Black Death arrived….

Perhaps if health is a concern of yours you may remember the Madagascar outbreak just at the end of 2013?… 60 people died of what they called the Bubonic Plague… It was. There is almost a perfect match between the DNA of the Black Plague organism exhumed, and those found in Madagascar….
Today another plague with a different organism is brewing in Africa. This one is more fearful than the Bubonic plague… The bubonic plague can be cured with antibiotics… For the E.bola outbreak there is not cure known to man… If you breathe it, you die… Today, it was announced that the outbreak is out of control. Beyond all hope of containment… Today, if it were to spread as fast as the Black Plague did person to person, in days, embedded deep within alive, alert healthy people, it would start arriving upon our shores…. Am even greater fear is that someone brings it here on purpose to punish us, and scatters it through New York and Washington’s subways…
So, there is a good chance that this year, we could experience a pestilence that wipes out mankind. We’ve had these scares before. And stories told afterward are that we came close to having a full epidemic, but were lucky in catching the carriers as we did….
So this of course is the year 2014…. The Black Plague begin to seriously infect Europe in 1348….. IF you don’t take this threat seriously, then do the math and figure out the span of time transpiring between the two….
In a recent debate: What would get you to change your mind?
- Republican: “Nothing, I’m a Christian.”
- Democrat: “Evidence.”
Think about the campaigns of 2012, 2010, 2008, 2006, 2004, 2002, 2000….. Doesn’t that snippet above ring true? Evidence based decisions versus wishful thinking….
You have to take a drug test to get food stamps because your employers at two jobs aren’t giving you enough hours……
But you don’t to pocket $174,000 of taxpayer money because you …. are a Congressman….
And your boss, lets you keep your job because: “Hell, Cocaine? That’s no big deal”–John Boehner.

A very conservative bank, in a very conservative state, came up with a very conservative total on how much damage Republican policies cost the once great United States of America. $14 Trillion.
When even very astute conservatives blame their own policies for RUINING the financial health of this nation, one has no choice but to take notice.
$14 Trillion. How much is $14 Trillion? 7 years of total Government spending, INCLUDING all the entitlements involved with Social Security, Medicare, and Veterans Benefits. How much is $14 Trillion? $14 Trillion would pay off every mortgage existing now in the United States of America. It would pay off the entire student college loan debt fourteen times over! How much is $14 Trillion? it would pay down 7/8ths of the entire National Debt! How much is $14 Trillion? It is 7/8ths of our yearly GDP, seven eights of every single dollar spent per year in the USA by you, me, our rich uncles, our poor aunts, and our government….
That is how much the Bush Era cost America…. $14 Trillion.
So let’s look at this once touted Republican agenda.
Did the tax cuts work? No, they cost us $14 Trillion.
Did deregulating derivatives work? No, they cost us $14 Trillion.
Did less regulation of the financial sector work? No, it cost us $14 Trillion.
Did funding two wars and Medicare Prescription Drug benefits by borrowing money work? No, they cost us $14 Trillion.
Did it work to give banks huge incentives to invest dangerously? No, it cost us $14 Trillion.
Did it work to pass laws forbidding workers to strike? No, it cost us $14 Trillion.
Did de-regulating oil hedge funds work? No, it cost us $14 Trillion.
Did cutting back government spending work? No, it cost us $14 Trillion.
Did removing limits to keep down the scalping of student loan interest rates work? No, they cost us $14 Trillion.
Does keeping minimum wage at low slave levels work? No, it cost us $14 Trillion.
Did re-making our medical care into a for-profit system work? No, it cost us $14 Trillion.
Did subsidizing Halliburton with $39.5 billion work? No, they cost us $14 Trillion.
Did letting the rich get richer; forcing the poor to get poorer, work? No. It cost us $14 Trillion.
Just think. Back in 2001 when Republicans began pushing their tax policies, did you know that doing so would begin to cost us 8 years in our future, $14 Trillion? 7/8ths of our nation’s yearly output? If you read the Congressional Record from back then, the Democrats and the CBO certainly did, though their lowballs of $10 Trillion came in a little under. But it was rather obvious that tinkering with the Clinton dynamo would be risky, that things were working so well, that getting to the destination of having a national debt at zero ought to be achieved before we began going the opposite direction.
But Republicans always when given a choice, choose to respond to lobbyist’s entreaties of support, instead of looking for support from everyday normal American people, so those warnings were all for naught.
And unfortunately still are. Even after a conservative bank, in a conservative state, published their conservative estimate, that the Republican policies cost this nation $14 Trillion Dollars….
In their own words….
That primary cause back then, as well as today, is any policy Conservative! Especially those of the Tea Party!
Congress is budged $1.248 billion a year… there are 52 weeks in each year… The cost of congress per week is $24 million. (How can that be?)
Since the Tea Party entered the scene, there have been 34 votes to repeal Obama Care, all passing the House and all dying in the Senate. These are feel good bills being proffered by Congresspeople to satisfy their most ardent critics back home. If Congressperson “A” proffers a bill to abolish Obamacare, … Congressperson “B” does exactly the same copy two weeks later. Congressperson “C” then follow up with the same copy the next month.
These votes are not free. They take time away from other duties. If this time were spent on something that would pass the Senate, all of us might be better off.
CBS estimated these bills took up an average of 2 and a half hours each. If added they amount to roughly 80 hours or two weeks…
At $24 million a week, these silly votes of posturing have cost the American taxpayers $48 million dollars… $48 million would pay for 960 $50,000 jobs for a full year…
America can’t afford Republicans any more.
