One of the best quotes I got from Tuesday’s Primary (Super Tuesday), was that the Republican Party is finally showing some unity.
It is uniting under Donald Trump. Not that the Republican power elite wants it too, but the reality is that in state after state, individual voters are doing what the elite of their party cannot do… unify the party behind one man….
The Republican voter is voting exactly what he wants… Face it. The average Republicans wants Mexico to build a wall,. they want all Muslims banned, and they want to be perfectly comfortable with their prejudices, even though they didn’t know that was what they wanted, until “the Donald” put it out there. But it IS out there, and THAT, is what they want…
The GOP is unifying behind it.and getting stronger party primary turnout than it’s had in years….No one is really surprised except those at the top of the Republican Party who’ve been in denial all these years over what their party really was…
Others of us have been saying that all along….
🙂
It is very simple. If one Republican supports segregation, and the Republican Party does not expunge him from its party, obviously the Head of The Republican Party then automatically inherits the problem and becomes culpable…. But there are two Republicans doing this. And both are the principal movers of the entire Republican Party (if not name, then deed) of Sussex County.
The only outcry from the Republican Party has been a buried press release from the head here in New Castle County, which no one read…..
That can only mean the Republican Party secretly supports segregation….
Think about it. You are with a group of people and one starts harassing someone outside your group. They could be liberal, gay, effeminate, Hispanic, urban, whatever. It doesn’t matter. But that someone in your group goes off half-cocked and bullies them n public…
What do you do, sitting there holding your beer? Do you come to that person’s defense? “Hey, you can’t do that to them. You need to leave us right now, You don’t represent us! You sicken me. In fact, I’m going to punch my fist right through your f’n head. Then when you’re down I’m going use my new cowboy boots to grind your head into tomato paste.” (Because if you did, The bullying would probably stop immediately, since you were becoming the new threat.)
But probably not. Most likely you are going to sit there, silent, pondering all your choices, and from the outside keep a stoic face so all around you, especially that person being verbally abused, will assume you are just part of the posse, going along with the sheriff doing the abusing… If ever later questioned why you chose not to intervene, you will say “I’m not prejudiced. I actually like “those people”. I don’t have a part in this fight. Of course I don’t agree with him, but I’m not going to get into a fist fight with someone I work with…. ”
And thus, through yours and your acquaintance’s cowardice, you allow the abuse to continue. Someone else another day, will feel the ire, and then someone else the day later, etc…. The real problem is allowed to continue. And we all know; it is a real problem.
So when we all are held accountable, (as to why did you do nothing to stop it), despite whatever excuse we proffer it will become obvious to us that there was indeed another choice at that time which could have been made…. We could have done something….
That is why one press release read by nobody, is not enough. Only one action and one action alone is strong enough to send the proper message that this behavior will NOT be tolerated. That is to permanently ban Vince Phillips and Sam Wilson from any Republican Party affiliation. That is to public excommunicate them from the Republican Party of Delaware… That is to issue a restraining order banning Vince Phillips and Sam Wilson from any function even remotely connected to the Republican Party of Delaware…..
IF the Republican Party does not take such drastic action…. they are culpable just as you or I would be if a friend of ours started demeaning a stranger in our presence. WE WOULD BE GUILTY TOO…..
This is why, no… as in zero… self-respecting human being should donate, volunteer, or even vote for any Republican until the Republican Party has elicited some serious cost upon the perpetrators… Considering the moral weakness previously exhibited by their current leader, I predict that will be highly unlikely….
I further predict that segregation against the “colored people” will be continue to be openly practiced in Sussex County because it now has the unspoken “protection” of the Republican Party.
Should you live or die from an accident or life threatening illness? Depends apparently on where you live… If you live in the Blue, you survive. If you live in the Orange, goodbye… Simple, clear, concise.

The bill entering law this session is very different from that of last session.
Here is the original bill:
Here is the amended version that passed the Senate last year…… which dropped the rates by a half a dollar, and excluded the possibility that Delaware could be over the Federal Minimum Wage…
The House Amended it this year, primarily to update the dates by 6 months.
Then came the first Republican torpedo, later stricken…. to poke multiple holes in the minimum wage, thereby making it a minimum seive. Allowing for the payment of $5.81 per hour to the following….
(1) employees under the age of 18; and
(2) employees during their first 180 consecutive calendar days of employment with the employer; and
(2) employees employed in a seasonal capacity.”
Here is the real Republican torpedo. (Defeated naturally like everything Republican in this wonderful state) to extend implementation by half a year.
Then the third Republican attempt at poking holes in the minimum wage to allow businesses to exploit child and migrant labor by paying them $5.81 an hour….
(1) is under the age of 18; or
(2) is within the employee’s first 180 consecutive calendar days of employment with the employer; or
(2) is employed in a seasonal capacity.”
As it stands now, the minimum wage will rise to $7.75 per hour on June 1, 2014, and then again one year later. On June 1, 2015, the minimum wage will be $8.25.. unless the Federal wage is passed at a higher amount: $10.10….
But the real question is this: how is it remotely possible that we still have 16 people in the civilized world, much less in our Delaware legislature, who still think it is ok to pay $5.81 for minimum wages therby putting Delaware in a slot between Slovenia and Greece on a chart of international minimum wages….
How is it possible that Blakely, Briggs-King, Dukes, Gray, Deborah Hudson AGAIN!!!!, Q. Johnson, Kenton, MIRO, Outten, Peterman, Ramone, D. Short, Smyk, Spiegelman, Walker, Wilson, are still living in the 1990’s back when $5.81 was considered the barest acceptable minimum wage? Roll back time 20 years… Sure, no problem say these 16.
Greece. These people want us to be Greece…. GET RID OF THEM! GET RID OF THEM ALL….. 🙂 (it is an election year, you know?)
And You Thought The Obamacare Was Unravelling On Its Own
Were you nuts? Were you born yesterday? Are you still that naive?
AFter considering an exchange propagated by Delaware Politic’s David Anderson, and subsequent discussion upon that thread, Delaware’s Chairman of the Republican Party, John Sigler is stepping down.
Starting with;
“My friend, you are smart, capable, and competent. You did not run for reelection to preside over the demise of the party you love, but to revive it. Please talk like it. “
The piece goes on to question why Delaware’s republican party was repeating the mistakes of the past. It castigates the current chair for not leading….
“We have lost 30 volunteers in the last 6 weeks to the Independent Party of Delaware because they are willing to grow and fight. The what, IPOD–how do we lose people to a little party that couldn’t fill a back room in a small restaurant last year for a convention? ”
“The first step to all of that is not giving people the impression that we are losers. We are contenders on the verge of becoming champions.”
Comments then drove it home… some excerpts……
“But in truth… it is really all goes back to the first… Why Sigler? The answer I can only come up with, is that the organization itself is tired, beat up, broken down and on its final count, so worn out that it would rather stay on the floor and have it be over, than get back up to start hitting back…”
“Again, it comes down to the first… Why Sigler? Answer us how with Sigler in charge your party can muster a counter attack no matter how much cajoling the underlings do?”
That seems to hit home. The Northern Republican apparatus was abuzz with calls today.
Then one commenter put everything into perspective.
“But it certainly is beginning to appear that conservatism needs to divorce itself from the Republican Party. That party will not carry your banner as high as you would like, ever again. Especially after the last war. As long as conservatives remain in the Republican Party they will continue to only receive lip service to their faces, all the while secret denials of their clout will be leaked to the media by their top campaign operatives.”
The commenter then continues to drive the point that the Conservatives need to form a new party, particularly the one now called IPOD, as opposed the the original one founded by Liz Allen and Frank McDowell… This and that are two different parties.
The commenter then advises:
“But if you do choose to ban together, you must all bite your tongues and be wary that the slightest slip, will do little to help you exert control within the party, but utterly destroy the entire legitimacy of conservatism itself… Just looking above on this thread, it is apparent that the Delaware Republican contingent has mismanaged many Conservatives over the past. if all these were to somehow come together and combine their talents, it is quite possible that conservatives could begin organizing to make a comeback, not as a wing of the moderate Republican Party, but as IPODs.”
And then reality struck!
Much was said of Christine O’Donnell. But in 2008 she beat the current Vice President in quite a few RD’s. Stop for a second and savor that: she beat the Vice President in his home state. Imagine if all those votes became IPODs? and why wouldn’t they, if IPODs became the rallying point for local rural conservative values? It is conceivable. If this could come to pass, the IPODs would sit on Sussex County Council.. The IPOD’s would have seats in the General Assembly.
It is obvious why the resignation was quick, sudden, and mysterious.
That study caused the leading Republican Hispanic in charge of the Florida’s outreach to Spanish speaking American citizens, to switch parties. He is now a Democrat. And he was in charge of convincing Hispanics to vote Republican!!!…
What caused the shift? A Republican study that specifically was aimed at the redneck hillbillies inside the Republican Party, but wound up hitting mainstream. The undeniable truth is it this what the Republican Party really does think about what it calls behind closed doors, it’s dirty little problem….
“No one knows whether Hispanics will ever reach IQ parity with whites, but the prediction that new Hispanic immigrants will have low-IQ children and grandchildren is difficult to argue against.”
So says the Republican Party of the United States of America.
Proving once again… that this party is nothing but the harshest racists..(Just watch Rick Jensen try to defend it by saying “he” is not a racist.) Truth is… he isn’t. He’s actually a great guy.. But the party he supports (though he does not represent) is undeniably racist…
A fact so driven home that the single most important Republican in charge of Florida’s Hispanics, NOT ONLY FELT COMPELLED TO RESIGN… BUT FELT IT NECESSARY TO ACTUALLY SWITCH PARTIES PUBLICLY….
Is every Republican a racist? No. But every racist is a Republican and the Republican Party of the United States of America is beholden to do whatever those racists want! ABSOLUTELY!!!
Every Hispanic Republican out of self respect, NEEDS RIGHT NOW TO CHANGE THEIR PARTY.... There can be no such thing as a Hispanic Republican from now on. Just Spanish speaking Uncle Toms… who should appropriately hitherto be called…. La Malinches
