Of course one schedules a big announcement at an opportune time to divert attention from everything else. Suddenly not turning in tax returns is old. “Why you bringing up that shit for, you creepy old loser?” Suddenly, Bain Capital’s fortunes made at the expense of working class heroes, is like last years Mason Jar-d green beans…..

But, did you know, (and it will get lost today for sure), did you know that NOT SINCE EISENHOWER, HAS THE STOCK MARKET EVER PERFORMED AS WELL AS IT HAS THIS PAST TERM OF PRESIDENT OBAMA?
Not during the Republican years of Richard Nixon
Not during the Republican years of Gerald Ford
Not during the Republican years of Ronald Reagan….
Not during the Republican years of George HW. Bush….
Not during the Republican years of George W. Bush……

(ok, ok, in order just to be considered fair here…)

Not during the Democratic years of John F. Kennedy…
Not during the Democratic years of Lyndon Baines Johnson….
Not during the glorious years of Jimmy Carter….
Not during the most amazing years in American History, of William Jefferson Clinton……

Not since Eisenhower…

Let that sink in….. Not since Eisenhower…..

If this were the Philadelphia Eagles and we’d had three back to back Superbowl wins…..we’d be jumping up and down for joy… These results are absolutely awesome. Obama/Biden is really the best team we have seen in our lifetimes…..

Of course, you would never know it if all you listened to, was the Dallas Cowboy’s …..

You see guys…. That’s America today…. And you are listening only to the Dallas Cowboy’s Network……

So if you want to see all the good news that got buried by today’s Ryan grabbing headlines…… and it is definately worth it, I have a link for you here……..

Look through the collection and tell me, does Romney’s choice really matter? REALLY?

There are a couple of issues where Romney is not forthcoming.   His tax returns.  His Bain Capital Investments.  His relation with his church. Privacy is important.  We support keeping what is meant to stay private, private.

But one can not surpass a smile, when one sees a younger Mitt Romney before the National Press Club on January 3, 2000, brag about the openness he brought to the scandal ridden Olympic committee.

Nor can one surpass a smile, when they hear the young Mitt Romney say he underestimated the budget and the costs required to pull it off.

Nor can one surpass a smile, when they hear the young Mitt Romney say:  we couldn’t do it ourselves;  we had to get help from the Federal government.

And when they hear Romney telling of the four time attempt to the grasp the gold for Dan Jansen, they are reminded of Romney’s own lost election attempts.

In regards to openness, Romney after taking over the scandal ridden committee, hammers out a code of ethics and has everyone sign them.  One of those items on that list was that all transactions, every invoice, would be open to public scrutiny.  Mitt brags:  “All the documents inside our organization are available to the public.  Simply submit a form saying which document you want to see.  For instance I want to see all the letters written by Mr. Romney to Mr. Samaranch.  You’ll get them all.  Takes us about twenty days for the people to go through and get those things. We collect them and provide them to any citizen that wants to have them”.  Quite different from his currently establishing a new precedent of only showing his tax returns for the years he “knew” he was going to run for president.  Will the public be then prompted to ask:  “What kind of character do you have?  How do you act when you are NOT running for president?”  We shall see.

It is equally interesting to hear Romney speak on his budget overage.  When he inherited the Olympics, they were $378 million behind.  Up to his entry, they had raised $13 million and had only one sponsor. They predicted they would need to raise $900 million.  Actual cost was $1.8 billion, double the original total. “We were off.   We estimated we would generate $859 million dollars in sponsor revenue.  Of course we calculated that without knowing what had been raised before.  Turns out the all time record for sponsorship revenue, came from Atlanta: $480 million raised in sponsorship revenue.  Our numbers are a little off.  Sometimes when cities get together and get excited about how much money they are going to make on the games themselves, the numbers are not quite accurate.  There is a reason for that.  There is no general accepted accounting for the Olympics. “

His success wasn’t his alone.  ” It is not something which we have done by ourselves.  It is not something we can accomplish by ourselves.  Everything we have accomplished has been done by virtue a collaboration of all sorts of leaders through out our country.  I want to acknowledge the support of the Utah delegation, many the members of which, and their offices are here today, which have been enormously helpful in providing funding for security, for housing, for transportation and so forth.  We also have here today Mickey Ibarra. I don’t know where Mickey is, but Mickey is special assistant to President Clinton for intergovernmental affairs, and he is also, I want to get this title right… he is also vice chairman of the  presidential task force of the Olympic Games.  The Clinton administration has been a ‘friend of the Olympics.” and has worked hard to make sure our Olympics are successful. … We depend enormously on the support of government and all its agencies to make sure we can be wonderful hosts, to the world. ”   Apparently in the real world outside politics,  “everyone” needs a little help.

Some more vignettes that cause the mouth to curl…. ” I believe we should judge people, celebrate people,  not by what they have, but by what they are. “   One can’t help but smile when they remember how Mitt always responds to the question, “what Sir,  qualifies you to be president…”

Of course this is just my opinion  made while suppressing a smile, but I would gladly wager that the Mitt Romney of yesterday (2000) would be a lot stronger of a candidate if  he were running against todays Obama  instead of the Mitt Romney of 2012,….  come November the Republicans would have lost by a much, much smaller margin.

When the Allies began their assault on Fortress Europe, Eisenhower laid out the groundwork for all to see including the enemy. There would be no settlement of the conflict other than unconditional surrender.  It was acknowledged that completely wiping out Germany was our objective, and therefore any means necessary to do so, would be employed.

It also communicated to the Germans that once we began overpowering them, that they were eventually going to lose.

It is with that same foresight and passion that we must assail the biggest enemy America has faced since.  The Republican Tax Cuts.  These have crippled a nation once so economically strong it was going to pay off its entire debt by 2008.  These cuts have destroyed an entire class of people, the middle class, who now are scrambling to figure not just how to live well, but how to survive retirement until their death. Meanwhile, copious amounts of the middle class monies have been sucked up by the giant vacuum cleaners of insurance companies, medical billing companies, gas stations and utilities, all funneling into the pockets of 1% of our citizens.  The 99% are left with nothing.

The Republicans are in disarray.  Laura Ingram is calling for Mitt Romney to start swinging. Rush Limbaugh is yelling for Mitt Romney to get up off the mat.  Bill O’Reilly is screaming for Mitt to start punching.  Sean Hannity is foaming at the mouth for Romney to start hitting Obama.. It reminds you exactly of what happens in a ring, when one of the boxers begins to get groggy from getting hit too much, and at that point, you can tell it is just a matter of time.

Do not relax and wait for a split decision.  Now is the time to go in for the kill.  Left, left, left, stomach, right, left, stomach, left, left, right, right, right, and with every hit, remember every family that has lost its bread winner, with every hit, remember every family that has lost its house, with every hit, remember every family whose pension got stolen by corporate America, with ever hit, remember every tax dollar not paid by the obnoxiously wealthy, with every hit, remember it is what brings America back up off its knees.

All democrats are responsible.  This is not a battle between two candidates.  It is a battle for the soul of America.  On one hand you have all that is good:  hard work, family, health, retirement, owning ones own home, self respect, honor, and integrity, and on the other side, you have people who think they have the God given right to make themselves rich off your hard work and pay you nothing for your efforts.

It is a war between mankind, and bacteria.  Up to now the bacteria was winning.

Here is what every Democrat needs to do up to November 6… Whoever, wherever, however, whatever, whenever one of these infectious Republicans opens their mouth, you respond with these five words.

I’m…… sorry….. That’s …… Not…….. True……..

National Healthcare is unconstitutional and must be repealed/ I’m sorry, that’s not true.

We need to cut taxes, cutting taxes creates jobs/  I’m sorry, that is not true.

We need to nuke Iran today, not one city, the entire country/  I’m sorry, that is not true.

We need to invade Syria right now/  I’m sorry, that is not true.

We need to eliminate Social Security to balance the budget/  I’m sorry that is not true.

The Republicans have a working budget; the Democrats won’t pass it/  I’m sorry that is not true.

The Republicans worship God; the Democrats worship Satan/  I’m sorry, that is not true.

The Republicans could fix America if it just weren’t for Democrats/ I’m sorry, that is not true.

If billionaires pay one penny more in taxes, the entire solar system will explode/  I”m sorry, that is not true.

Grover Norquist came from God, he is not mortal/  I’m sorry, that is not true.

Giving poor people the right to healthcare is un-American/  I’m sorry, that is not true.

The only reason we have unemployment is because people are too lazy to work/ I’m sorry, that is not true.

As long as there is one Burger King job unfilled, there should be no unemployment insurance/ I’m sorry, that is not true.

I’m sick of people doing nothing and getting welfare, while billionaires do nothing and pay no taxes/  I’m sorry, that is not true.

That was fun, but you get the point.  Whether around the water cooler, at a bar, on the bus, in the church basement, with the old man, on Rick Jensens talk show, ……. it is time to stop the lying.   and when you do, others around you will say you are exactly right, and pile on that republican so he won’t know what to say next.

As Americans it is our duty to swear that, as citizens of the United States of America, it is our duty to keep up the fight until we get unconditional surrender in November….

Unconditional Surrender in November.

This is going to my hard core Republican friends. Why are you still supporting Romney?

1) You know he is not going to win.
2) You know as the election heats up, his Bain Capital experience will make Republicans untouchable for decades.
3) You can’t pin down where Romney stands on anything.
4) He tied his dog to a car.
5) He stands with black people and says “Who let the dogs out, woof, woof.”

Most of you are telling me, “I certainly can’t vote for Obama. I guess I’m not voting for President this time.”

Let’s say, just for argument sakes there was a presidential candidate out there who says to have good government you need: …………………

1. Become reality driven. Don’t kid yourself or others.
Find out what’s what and base your decisions and actions
on that.

2. Always be honest and tell the truth. It’s extremely
difficult to do any damage to anybody when you are
willing to tell the truth–regardless of the

3. Always do what’s right and fair. Remember, the more
you actually accomplish, the louder your critics become.
You’ve got to learn to ignore your critics. You’ve got to
continue to do what you think is right. You’ve got to
maintain your integrity.

4. Determine your goal, develop a plan to reach that
goal, and then act. Don’t procrastinate.

5. Make sure everybody who ought to know what you’re
doing knows what you’re doing. Communicate.

6. Don’t hesitate to deliver bad news. There is always
time to salvage things. There is always time to fix
things. Henry Kissinger said that anything that can be
revealed eventually should be revealed immediately.

7. Last, be willing to do whatever it takes to get your
job done. If you’ve got a job that you don’t love enough
to do what it takes to get your job done, then quit and
get one that you do love, and then make a difference.

Honesty. Integrity. Principal.

Sounds good so far. Let us say just for argument, he had chief executive experience. Let us say just or argument that he once ran a state, one of the fifty in this union. Let us say while governor, this is what he did…..

During his tenure, New Mexico experienced the longest period without a tax-increase in the state’s entire history.

1) He cut the rate of government growth in half,

2) Left the New Mexico state government with a budget surplus and 1000 fewer employees (without firing anyone),

3) Privatized half of the prisons in the state,

4) Brought a state-wide school voucher system to New Mexico.

5) Vetoed 750 bills (more than all the vetoes of the other 49 Governors in the country at that time, combined) with only 2 overrides, earning him the nickname Gary “Veto” Johnson.

6) In 1999, Johnson became the highest-ranking elected official in the United States to advocate the legalization of drugs.

7) Shifted Medicaid to managed care.

Can you not think of a better way to show your lack of enthusiasm over a wealthy capitalist buying his way to the top of your ticket, by voting for someone who has character, who does what you’ve always wanted, a doer, not a talker?

And to think…. you were simply just going to throw your vote away.

His name is Gary Johnson. He is the new party’s candidate for President.

Remember Republicans. It is your values that are important. If your party has given up and moved on from your values, don’t think you have to be loyal to the word…. “Republican”… What you have to be loyal too, is yourself. Always. Never lie to yourself.

You don’t need to waste your vote on Romney. You probably need to find more about this guy, Gary Johnson, and then throw your support behind him.

Don’t worry it is not one of the two parties on whose ticket he is running. Remember, at one point in time, the Republican Party was a once a third party too. One that went mainstream because of its core values, its principles resonated with everyday American People.

Against my better judgment, I clicked on this.   A piece of fluff, that says Romney mocks Obama for using a cartoon.

Well, why not.

Every single paper I’ve ever looked at always has a cartoon on its editorial page.  Every time we use the word nasty, we are paying homage to Thomas Nast, who drew cartoons.

So what’s wrong with cartoons?

Romney’s words:  “What does it say about a president’s policies when he has to use a cartoon character rather than real people to justify his record? What does it say about the fiction of old liberalism to insist that good jobs and good schools and good wages will result from policies that have failed us, time and again?”

First off, Old Liberalism doesn’t exist anymore..  If it did, we’d have a solvent Social Security right now, not one robbed of its assets by the Republican Bush Administration.  It it did,  we’d have a roaring economy now.  Not one collapse because of the Republican repeal of Glass Steagle; an act that was passed in the good days of old liberalism, that forbade banks from gambling our money on risky adventures.  If it did, we’d have cheaper energy, controled by a Public Service Commission, and not by a monopoly.  If it did, we’d have a surplus, not a deficit.  As far as the eye can see…

Norway, which is only the only country at least closely alligned with the tenants of Old Liberalism, is rated as the best place to live in the world.

Even here, life used to be much better under the old days of  Liberalism.  Look at yourself? Wasn’t your life better in the  90’s?  The lives of your parent’s better in the 70’s?  The lives of your grandparents, better in the 50’s and 60’s?   Those were the old days of Liberalism and things were pretty damn good..   One family member could work while the other stay home and you could still afford to pay off two cars, the mortgage, insurance,  utilities,  gasoline,  and if you happened to get sick or pregnant, something called insurance paid all your medical bills…   That was just on one income….

Sounds good to me… How can Romney call that failed? How can the press sit there without correcting him?

So what does Romney promise?

Nothing, at least in this article.. All he can do because his policy is a failure is to mock Obama for using a cartoon…

So let’s get this right…

This press piece is implying Romney will be the better leader of our country, because he, and only he, can mock people for using a cartoon…   And that is his message for today? (He’s already said it at 4 stops)….

And the press is blowing it up as some controversy,  painting Obama as being a rather sad president because he used what every newspaper uses, … a cartoon?

Who hires these people?

The proper way this news should have been slanted: Today Mitt Romney tried to deflect attention away from the fact that his policies fail (and that he has no idea of how he is getting us out of the economic mess his Republicans caused), by demeaning the Commander in Chief for using a cartoon to explain his views.

It seems not to have fooled the American people.

When Mitt Romney talks, you turn your head to the next person and go WTF?

That can’t be right.

But,  it is…

It is just that the bending of the data is so erratically complex that a bizarre conclusion comes out of the box…

It is like the drunk  girl who goes up to the funny mirror just off the boardwalk, bends over slightly,  and while staring at the mirror,  says:  “Look, I’m kissing myself. there…..”

You go and look at the image, and sure enough… she is kissing herself, .. there…

That is how you have to listen to Mitt Romney, or any Republican who is funded by hedge-fund mangers….  You do it for the experience, knowing that what they are saying, is if nothing else, creative, but if you ever rise to believe it, you will be called into question yourself, for your gullibility….

Mitt Romney’s camp said:  … “Women account for 92.3 percent of the jobs lost under Obama.”

First reaction:  WTF

Second reaction:  How can that be?

Third reaction:  Analysis:

Since the day that Obama took office,  the number of unemployed women has increased by 858,000….

The Facts…  the 858,000 is valid,

The Recession began December 2007 and ended  June 2009.  More jobs were lost in the Republican Party Recession than the last four recessions put together.   (Ironically almost 858,000 more) ….

Over that entire time span, 3.4 million men and 1.8 million women have lost jobs since the Republican caused recession started, according to statistics.   That means over the whole course of events, women have lost 34.6% portion of the jobs lost…

If you look here (Bureau of Labor Statistics) you can see how this 92.3% figure could occur….

The recession caused by the housing bubble and lack of sources of new construction investment, hit mens jobs hard between 2007 and 2009. In the first thirteen months of the recession, all under George W. Bush and Dick Cheney’s tour of office, men lost jobs at a 10 to one rate compared to women.  That is why, this Republican Recession is often called the “mancession”  repeatedly over and over since it has first been documented.

After all the men had lost their jobs first, … that is when we swore in a new president, and the only jobs left to lose,…  were those of women.  The economy continued to fail because of Republican policies still on the books, and as it failed, more jobs had to go.  Women were cut too, as a last resort….

That is fact.

What we have is Romney contorting the evidence so obliquely that we are able to pull a startling statistic out of the ass of computations, and say….  damn, this shit stinks.

What really stinks, is that Republicans deregulated industry so much that  the top wage earners could actually steal investors money, and not go to jail.  What really stinks is that Republicans didn’t enforce regulations already on the books,  which were there to prevent this whole event from happening to the extent it did…  It’s as if the Wilmington Police chief gave away free bags of cocaine openly on Market Street to keep gun-lords from shooting each other over territorial issues, and one night the whole town overdosed.   What really stinks, is that during this entire time, instead of building up the treasury by buying back bonds before they were due,  Republicans spent money loosely without deciding how it was too be paid back… What really stinks, is that Republicans voted time and time again to raise the debt ceiling over Democrat’s objections…

Fact is, if we’d elected Gore in 200o  we would ALL be rich now.  But … we fucked up.   We voted Republican…

The real tragedy behind Mitt Romney, is that he is not addressing the core issue:  Republican policies do not work.   He knows this.  He ran as a moderate Republican in Massachusetts and actually did a decent job.

So, the tragedy, is… that as Mitt Romney twists these numbers to make the real hero,  President Obama look bad,  Mitt himself  is running on the very same policies that caused, aided, and abetted the giant Republican Recession we are trying to outgrow this very minute….  4 and a quarter years later…

That,  is the tragedy….

And until Mitt Romney addresses how he will prevent those same policies from leading us to the same result,….. NO ONE; I repeat,  no one can believe Mitt Romney….

As we approach the election we will receive from both sides, mis-statements regarding the other’s views on taxes and the economy.

From analyzing the past weeks diatribes, a similar trend seems to be taking form on both sides.  Each candidate takes a statement made by the other, and shapes that statement as if it were uttered by the most extreme faction of the other’s party…

In speaking of women vrs Mitt, Obama will say:  “he wants to take your progress back two centuries…  ” Mitt has a wife, making that statement doubtful.  And it fails to pass the truth test when you think that Mitt was once in favor of abortion, and was once the very liberal Republican governor of Massachusetts….

So does Mitt personally want to take women back two centuries?  No.  Do extreme members of his party who radically vote for Santorum wish to go that far?  Absolutely.

So when Obama says “Mitt wants” and then inserts the extreme radical notion immediately afterwards, it rings with a grain of truth, because  we’ve heard Santorum use the same direct line, and having heard it, we join the two together without thinking through all the ramifications in real time.

The same thing happens when Mitt Romney attacks the mandated Health Care Act of Obama.  Mitt says “Obama wants bureaucrats to decide when and when you can’t go to the doctor. He wants big national government running your health-care program.”  Does Obama really want “big national health-care?”

No.  The mandated Health Care Act was Mitt Romney’s Plan created by him in Massachusetts expressly to establish a platform so private insurers could insure everybody, thereby dropping the costs for all involved… It is a private Health Care System, that does not have any government entity making any decisions whatsoever.  Obamacare steals the Republican’s plan, where private insurers cover everybody.  There IS no government insures like Medicare, except for Medicare of course which over time, is destined to be replaced by Obamacare’s private insurers.

Yes, there are some in the Democratic Party who do advocate single payer health insurance.  The see it’s low cost per person and per state overseas, they see the healthier populations of other nations compared to ours, and they see how cheap health care can be given, if the profit motive (get me rich quick) is taken out of the medical equation…… Sure, if someone didn’t have to get rich so I could get well, it WOULD be a lot cheaper!!!!!…. Because that argument is out there, we have heard it on our airwaves, when we hear Obama would like the government to decide our health-care, we are inclined to believe it, even though it absolutely isn’t true…..

This elocution-device is called the “politics of persuasion”.   And as anyone who as ever sat in a courtroom knows, one side is telling the truth; the other side is telling lies.  The juror’s job is to decide which one is telling the truth….

Meaning that if you can make your lies sound more like the truth, than truth itself….. you can still win…….

Since I don’t care who wins, just care that we get results, I propose a different method….. One that if used in a courtroom would quickly settle who the liar was.

It is to make the accuser defend his core beliefs.

For example, when the Republicans say:  “Taxes are too high, we need to cut taxes to create jobs”. Instead of a complicated argument that not even Sarah Palin could understand, simply ask:  “OK, then where are the jobs.  You cut taxes in 2000 and over 8 years, we lost a lot of jobs.  If it works, and we’ve done it, WHERE ARE THE JOBS?”

You could also add, slyly under your breath, that…. “before taxes were cut too effin low, there were plenty of jobs; everyone was working…”

The burden of proof… is now on them… Everyone in the courtroom suddenly looks to them with quizzical expressions on their face, wondering,… ‘Yeah, that’s right.  Why do they say low taxes create jobs, when they didn’t?” The media suddenly jumps on them to explain how their very policy that wreaked the American economy, will now miraculously save it.

We know…  that America will see through their balderdash. The only reason they think they can say it now, is that, they still think people will believe them only because “they” say so.. …

The opposition, Mitt Romney, could use the same approach…. (if he can find anything that is not factually based.)..  He can say to Democrats, if your brand is so good, why aren’t things rosy as you  seem to portray?  Got to admit; that is a fair question.

The answer is of course, …. “we are climbing out of the hole you dug, and we are just getting near the rim where we can extract ourselves and begin to continue our journey which we were on before we fell into the hole too deeply dug by Republican Policies that were ill-thought, ill-planned, and ill-obtained….. ”

If we just let “Truth” do our talking for us, we will be in much better shape…….

“Whatever you see/hear on TV… believe the opposite”.. Voter’s Rule 2012

Here are the charts to prove it…..

Private employers have added 3.7 million jobs over the last 23 months. Businesses are ratcheting up investments and boosting productivity. Exports, from agriculture to manufacturing, are growing. Meanwhile, the cost of the government’s emergency response to the financial crisis is dramatically lower than anyone expected, which is welcome news for taxpayers.

All one can say after viewing these charts
, is thank heavens the American People, wisely chose Obama over the Republican John McCain….

And as a trivia point…. see if you can spot the “Tea Party Dip” in the recovery…

Proof again that Republican Policies for whatever reason, … simply do… not…. work….at…. all…..

Kirsten Kukowski was quoted by the Washington Post….

“President Obama campaigned on hope and change, but three years later he’s just another typical politician,” in a feeble attempt to cite his high-wattage fundraisers in order to try to undercut Obama’s image with working-class voters…..

You don’t get it, do you? Americans know a president needs cash to win an election. Americans know where the cash is, just like Obama does….

The difference between him and Republicans, is that unlike them, when Obama gets the cash, it helps us… When Republican get the cash, it “hurts” us…. Union Busting, lower wages, higher premiums, higher medical out of pocket expense, higher energy costs, higher prices, and yes… higher taxes… from states and local governments who have to make up the difference that the wealthy were supposed to pay, but got off free…..

So, it is good that he is doing what he is doing. That calms our soul…

Don’t worry. You have historical precedent in what you say about our Commander in Chief… During the Revolutionary War, the Royalists tried the same tactic when George Washington had to ride off, hat in hand and try to shake down wealthy Patriots in Philadelphia and New Jersey….

Every American should be grateful to Robert Morris.…the wealthy man who saved the country.
