Why is this happening I hear as the news is announced.  Social Media explodes with “what is this world coming to…”

The answer is that the world is no different than it ever was… Except that today, it is just awash in guns thanks to the NRA….

The NRA’s campaign of madness drove everyone to buy a gun. Whether mentally stable or not…they now have guns and are itching to use them… Seeing a cop kill someone needlessly on YouTube, is a good reason as any….

Extreme passions will always exist.  But the caliber of weapons in their hands, don’t have to.. WE chose to allow that, and now, finally, it is our policemen who are dying for it…

Ban guns like Australia, and let’s fight with bows and arrows instead… Though crimes of passion may remain, our death toll will go down and that is what we all want..

Right now, I don’t think anyone cares about the 2nd Amendment anymore… Do you know of anyone out there saying these dead policemen are just the collateral damage for keeping our rights?  (That is exactly what Wayne LaPierre said of dead blacks; wonder what’s different about “dead policemen”?)

Let me explain the rational behind actively banning all guns…. If you say nothing and the gun owners scream 2nd Amendment rights, nothing will change; guns stay the same… And the exact opposite would occur if you scream BAN ALL GUNS and the NRA stays silent, which is why gun laws do get passed in crime ridden inner cities….So what has to happen is that you work to ban all guns, yet are willing to accept any compromise that allows some to remain safely in hands of people who will never use them in anger… If it appears that having guns banned is really about to happen, the NRA will modify their stance into a compromising position, instead of losing the right for anyone to own a gun forever.

We will have success, in fact both sides will win… But that achievement can ONLY happen if political pressure far great than the NRA’s, lines up to BAN ALL GUNS…..

Saying you want all guns banned is not really to ban all guns….. but to make the NRA believe it is about to happen so they un-harden their hearts and compromise….

On one hand you proclaim noisily that you want to ban all guns, and with the other you craft legislation that compromises your principles and allows some guns, but puts restrictions strong enough to keep guns out of the hands of all but the most trustworthy of collectors…

Instead of posting on social media you stand with the blue, like and share, you should be protecting the blue from being shot by posting you are against all guns… Get it?  ALL GUNS…. (but really you aren’t:  wink, wink)….

Did they tell us that open carry laws would make us all safer?

You know who IS safer?

Australians

When their Port Arthur shooter targeted and killed 35 random civilians, they banned assault weapons. Collected all of them.

There have been no mass shootings since. Since 1992 there have been fewer police shootings of civilians than there were in March 2016 just in the US alone.

Things seem much calmer in Australia.  Perhaps we should ignore the NRA’s lying and do what they did?

They got results.  We got bullshit.

51% of the country cheered when they first heard police were shot by snipers in retaliation for the unnecessary shootings making the rounds these past two days.  The other 49% reacted with regret.

But those other 49% cheered the two blacks being killed.. Ha, take that, Obama!….. (referring to Tea Party Congressman Walsh’s currently calling for both Black Lives Matter leaders and Obama’s assassination).

Social media today is full of everyone’s pontifications. The point lost however, is that shaming is ineffective when the people you are trying to shame, are proud of what they did.  Just as when you are proud of what you do, you care little about how your enemies try to paint you, probably because their reaction, justifies your original action.

True “Wisdom” calls both sides out for being wrong… Because if there is one lesson taught by world history, it is that violence  begets violence and the only way to stop it, is for one side to completely disappear, as in down to zero, or… both sides become so tired of the costs they negotiate a solution,… the latter which could have just as easily been wrought WITHOUT all the costly violence transpiring.

War’s only solution is to stop it cold prior to the very first provocation.

To understand this train of thought, one first needs to understand violence. Violence occurs when people become frustrated that justice is being ignored by a majority of the status quo.  Whether you are ISIS, black, or a Republican Christian like Timothy McVey, you resort to violence because you can express your anger on that playing field, whereas you are completely boxed up on all others….

In study of conflict after conflict, there is roughly a six month window in which solutions acceptable to both sides can occur.  The first violence is a surprise. Neither side is mobilized and interior battles are still ongoing between the moderates and extremists of either position.

If things quickly change for the better, in each group it is the moderates who gain more followers as extremists lose them: “Whew, good thing we didn’t start fighting; everything worked out well”. BUT, if nothing quickly changes, it becomes the extremists who gain the upper hand in each organization, simply because what they offer is something different than inaction:  “not fighting the bully” is not working; “fighting the bully” is the only viable plan left.”

It is at these points where controlling governments make their mistake.  They respond reactively instead of proactively. They are reacting logically which does nothing to appease the rampant emotions surrounding the issue. If they prosecute these officers and prosecute the police murderers (the logical solution) they do nothing to stem future racist officers from killing other blacks or other angry blacks from killing future police officers… the violence continues which conveys the frustrating message that nothing has changed

When the perception appears that nothing has been done, the attraction to more violence, grows.

Today’s events blatantly illustrate this.  Louisiana’s Democratic Governor turned the Baton Rouge case over to the Feds. who we all know could never be persuaded to white wash what happened and lie to protect the police officers.  That should had ended the controversy behind the first shooting. Over! Done! Justice will be served…  But that reaction was dwarfed by another event, a totally unrelated video shot a thousand miles to the north.  And now that video just got overshadowed by the sniping at cops in Dallas.  Are we done yet?  Or will another video surface today?

To prevent chaos, you have to jump over the crises of today and intercept tomorrow’s crises before it happens.  This usually requires an illogical action that is so bizarre, it puzzles the will and stops all in their tracks while they analyze what in the heck you just did. Successful tyrants have done this across history. Imagine for example if we arrested and imprisoned without bail, the Koch Brothers and the officers of the NRA, and shut down Fox News.  This shock would be enough to stop the violence.  You reacted and stopped cold the root cause of the violence; instead of just treating the symptoms.

Were you to do this, those racist officers intent on starting a race war, would be afraid that doing so would put their superiors in jeopardy, which would be harder for them to live through than going through what has now become the standard acquittal process. Particularly those superiors feeling the threat, would seminar those in the streets with daily reminders to shoot no one for any reason, lest the “real Law” comes for the boss to take him away….

This immediately changes the culture in police departments everywhere.  Within hours. You go from being afraid for your life, to being afraid of losing your job which to a police person, is a far greater fear than that of losing ones life, a risk you accepted when you took the job.

Admittedly, this would be difficult to do in America because we are a nation founded on the principle of moving slowly by consensus. But it was quite effective in Soviet Russia during Stalin’s tenure and in North Korea today.  That is how autocratic nations are run. Grab someone randomly who is no more guilty of crimes than were those dead police officers or the two black gunned down, and punish them.  Since you don’t know who your actions will hurt, you don’t propagate any. Here in America, the equivalent would be to arrest the Koch’s…. and since they’d be a flight risk, … no bail.

But just imagine if the NRA, Koch’s, and Fox News were suddenly leaderless.  Silence on the NRA’s part, no secret money funneled to hate groups on the Koch’s part, and no propaganda on Fox News Part..  Instead we would see it for what it is: crazy people doing crazy things and being punished by the calm rule of lawt.  We would be told such was the cost of freedom and shown fractions like 7/319,000,000 to drive home the point that 318,999,993 of us have little to worry over… We would be reminded of how there are 900,000 police officers in the United States, and how only 3 of them killed with no provocation these last two days.  We could be told that if you get pulled over you have an 899,997/900,000 chance of having no life threatening situation occur.

And if we become convinced that we have little to worry over, the costs of instigating violence to ourselves and our families far outweigh any gain we would otherwise see….

Because when you deal with people who access to weapons, you can’t stop violence with force… Iraq’s occupation was one example.  Britain’s domination of Ireland is another. Palestine versus Israel is a third.  You only stop violence by making those individuals who are armed, not want to hurt anyone….

And that will require a lot of changes… A police force can offer free hugs in a university town all it wants, but until you stop the posts of:  Like and Share if you support Police Officers killing Blacks for no reason, it is just one molecule in an ocean.

When you have a fire, you don’t add gasoline… Arresting the Koch Brothers, the NRA leadership, and Fox News would do a lot to remove gasoline which we all know, shouldn’t even be near a fire to begin with…

As anyone who has dealt with terrorism knows, if you build a hospital to display goodwill and the terrorists come in and kill everyone there, no one goes to that hospital anymore… no matter how sick. You have to take-out those who call for violence and arresting the Koch’s, NRA leadership, and silencing Fox News, would take 98% of those promoting this insanity, off the streets and out of the public eye in 24 hours.

We need to focus on the REAL problem, not the symptoms.

It’s true…. Toddlers with guns killed 21. Terrorists killed 19.

Now add all those other unnecessary deaths by guns, and still tell me we need easier access to guns to prevent terrorism….

Banning guns is not an answer. The answer IS banning people who will kill other people, from having access to guns…

And that is where the Republicans and NRA’s insistence on deregulating all gun purchases so even deranged criminals can pick up a gun for a couple of dollars, is off its rocker…

When toddlers kill more Americans than terrorists,  we need to stop worrying about terrorists and start worrying about toddlers.  If we aren’t being panicked into fearing our two year olds and under, we should give equal disdainment for any political potty mouth who wants us to spend billions to defend ourselves from the non-threat of terrorists….

Bottom line..

Toddlers in America kill more people with guns and terrorists in America kill period…

That tells you how messed up the NRA is right there….

Three years from the aftermath of an unprecedented expression of suppressed anger, one that was so irrational none of us could comprehend how anyone could have stooped so low, today we now have one similar episode… EVERY SINGLE DAMN DAY OF THE  YEAR…

Today is December 3.  It is the 337th day of the year… As of yesterday, depending upon who is doing the counting we have had 345-355 “mass” shootings in the United States THIS YEAR… More than one per day. This is above and beyond the normal killings. Criminal, domestic abuse, accidental, malfeasance.  This number strictly represents people who plan to kill large numbers of fellow human beings and prepare for it well accumulating military style equipment, then go out and do it…

Let that sink in… Every day we have a potential Sandy Hook, a potential San Bernardino, that due to other circumstances did not have as high a body-count or shock effect as did these two in children’s areas.. But in each daily episode, at least 4 die  classifying  it as a “mass killing”… Every damn day.

In 11 days from today, we hit the 3rd Anniversary of Sandy Hook… Obviously gun control in America is headed in the wrong direction…

The HUGE problem, the elephant in the room, is the NRA… A group that solicits donations from large numbers of Americans who own guns, and then uses those to buy off lawmakers or threaten them with caustic ads to submit and let gun owner run rampant over the Constitutional rights of everyone else… especially small children who get dropped off in previously thought safe havens by their parents…

There are a lot more people who are not in the NRA than who are in the NRA. They too are a huge problem.. The NRA is only 1% of us (3.15 million)… Which means 99% of us (315 million) are letting them get by with murder.

Content to sit on our own hands and let it go on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on , and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on , and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on , and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on , and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on , and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on , and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on , and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on , and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on , and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on , and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on , and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on , and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on , and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on , and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on , and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on , and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on,

(Count them. There are 345: one for every mass shooting this year in the USA….)

No one is going to argue that we need to get rid of guns.. But 99% of us should acknowledge that the biggest player at the table is not budging on this issue.

For self survival, the NRA needs to come up with their own solution and push it through Congress. The fact they have not, speaks volumes.  (They defined mass killings as the collateral damage to having the right to bear arms.)

Seriously. Collateral damage needs to affect the NRA and it needs to come from the other 99% of American citizens who don’t give a damn about the Constitutional right to bear arms; they just want these insane killings over nothing, to stop.  They have the power to change it. They have the power through their vote, to put people into office WHO WILL NOT LISTEN… to the NRA…

If you haven’t gone on your social media page and blasted the NRA after this and every  past massacre,  the real problem is you.  You, the coward, are the true problem as to why every day, another 4 people have to die..

“Oh pshaw, I don’t want to look too political”, you may say.. Or “I don’t want to piss off business associates or customers who might own guns”, you may counter. Both are noble reasons.  But it seems that you don’t have the same reticence of expressing yourselves  politically when it comes to whether or not to allow Syrians into the USA?

The bottom line is you are political just by living here.  It’s your responsibility. If you want the killings to stop you have to overpower those who don’t want killings to stop, ie the NRA..  There are 99 or more of you for everyone of them.  This small splinter of society, is the reason you must fear your time will come due while Christmas shopping.

If anyone looked up the true meaning of aiding and abetting the enemy, the NRA as an organization would land right in the center of that definition.  They are America’s biggest threat; our most dangerous terrorist organization.  They assist in promoting terror. Real terror; not the fake kind threatened by beheaders in the Syrian desert.

It is time everyone attacks them on their social media and either argumentatively (if you are dealing with an asshole), or gently (if you are dealing with a reasonable person), demand everyone pressure the NRA organizational leadership to come up with the one workable solution…

The easiest way to stop this extraordinary high rate of mass killings is simple:  keep guns out of the hands of potential mass killers… So easy. Just do it…. Everyone else can have guns, if you are safe, no one really cares.. but guns to mass killers need to stop and anyone still a member of the NRA who does not write their leadership and demand they offer the final solution, is the problem…

Pure and simple.  If they take too long, the 99% of us who are not NRA members, need impose serious safeguards on access to all their guns… WE don’t care how much they cry.. Boo, hoo, hoo. They had their chance and pissed it into the wind.

Just fix it.

You’ve heard the myth…  “if every one open carried there would be no crime… ”

We are close to that now in parts of our cities and shootings are going out the roof…   We all know Wilmington’s issue.  Cassandra at Del. Liberal keeps us informed.

But I was not prepared and I was surprised to hear rural people in states totally lacking inner city populaces complaining about the same damn thing. “Everyone who has a gun is going crazy” is how they put it… Families shooting each other; business partners turning on the other; neighbors going to war over disputes about vines on fences;  and of course, rural cops looking for anyone who won’t fight back to hurt them before they summarily get executed.  Read: the mentally infirm, women, and children.

But the point is this.  The NRA’s prime job is to make us safer by educating Americans on how to use guns…

Their primary function was to make us safer….

They have failed…  and it was not a little failure, like a missed point or two… It is a monstrous catastrophic failure…

One assumes the failure is in their message.  If you say all must have a gun to feel safe, and spend half a billion per year to run that message to your members, to Congress, and to the news media, it is not surprising that many of those who have mental issues centering around paranoia, digest that message and buy guns because they’ve been told it is the only way they can feel safe…

It is duplicitous for the NRA to say: “we are trying to make guns safer through education”, then fight tooth and nail against well meaning legislation which has only one function: to separate the mentally ill from their guns.

So they are for the most part the ones to blame for the senseless killing ongoing today.  Again for the most part they set the message that guns are for settling scores..  “Don’t get yourself sued, Just Kill the Bastard”…. has become their preferred method of handling arguments….  “Got a grief?  Shoot To Kill”..

Today in the days of money, those elected are intimidated by them because they are well funded mostly by gun manufactures… Can’t blame them. The NRA has given gun manufacturers their best business years ever.  Cheap investment if I ever saw one.

But the “ying” for the yang of increased Connecticut employment… is the “yang” of dead bodies… piling up in double digits daily.. Why are there so many dead bodies?  We never had them before?

The NRA needs to be painted with the blame… They failed… They failed…. They failed…. It is time for American Gun owners to realize that since the NRA has failed its utmost duty, Government has to step in to reassert order… NRA is in chaos… Time to remove the boys and replace them with real men… Men who have guns, but…. are educated and know how to use them….

Not like the dolts we have today.
