2014 establishes a new record… Never in the course of scientific measurement, has the globe been as hot as it was this past year…

Not in 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, or ever… Furthermore all the top ten hottest years have occurred over the past two decades… To give you any indication of that significance, there have been 602 decades since the world was created by alleged creationists. The last two include the 10 hottest years ever.  Some say it’s because we are moving closer to hell, and if Republican policies continue unabated, there is some truth to that.

But there is no mistaking the evidence.  Based on coincidence alone, the evidence is overwhelming.  Some may not agree. But that disagreement is solely based on fancy, and not fact… Such disagreement’s factual consistency falls in level near the bottom of credibility  alongside that of saying that allowing blacks to play sports will bring down the level of the game (yes, once said and believed); or that the Negro was sub-par to the white man, and slavery was a blessing for it, over the freedom of living naked in squalid jungle… or that all sickness was caused by bad blood, or the earth was flat, or the sun went around the earth, and not vice versa.  On the latter, people were burnt at the stake for telling the truth.

But those days are gone. Thanks to science.  Explanations for the unexplained based on fancy, only work until that unexplained gets explained in fashions we can understand.

And we know from scientific experiments that  increasing the amount of Carbon Dioxide into the atmosphere, as well as decreasing the forest process which breaks down CO2 into Carbon and Oxygen, will result in warmer temperatures… no matter what anyone else says.  And we do know that since 1990, the world has never, ever, ever put as much CO2 into the air, simply because there never has been as many people driving cars as now, and we know how much carbon is mined or pumped, how much is held in reserves and can use simple math to determine how much is being burned.

  • 90,354,000 barrels each single day,
  • 231,070,609,17  tons per day,

For eons this amount of carbon has been stored underground where it was protected from the atmosphere.  Never before in recorded history have we seen carbon reunited with our atmosphere on such a scale.  Without question, Global Warming is man-made and is caused by mankind’s burning of carbon.   Even the most skeptical must now accept it.

So what to do about those who continue to deny it?   First, recognize they are not serious.  They know and are just creating noise for personal reasons.  There is nobody on this planet who can look at the graphic above showing warming trends, and truly believe it doesn’t exist…  They may say so, but what they are saying is this:  I was so wrong that the only way I can have any self respect is to fool myself and others that I still believe as I did when I was wrong… If I ever admit I was wrong, I’ll be teased unmercifully.  So.. here goes again… That’s bull; there is no proof o global warming and there is tons of proof against it…
Such defiance of the obvious would be funny and cute if it were evidenced in say a dog experiencing winter for the first time, running and jumping off the dock and slamming onto an ice cover lake.  But when such denial affects our ability to counter the problem, we can’t let it continue…
If we lived in a village of 200 years ago, and wolves came into town every night to feed on young’uns, we would band together to do something.. Like build a stockade around town, or man a gate, or something to protect our children. What if we had townspeople getting up in the middle of the night, opening the gate, or cutting holes in the fence to let the wolves come in, so they can continue devouring our children… (Damn children scream in restaurants and give me indigestion).

What if we caught… one of those people…  200 years ago?   I’d kill them, and think I’d be seated near the right hand of God for doing so.  No question. No doubt. never any guilt.   Alas, today, killing people is frowned upon as it should be.

But what if we did something else?

“This is bullshit. There is no proof of Global warming.. It’s a liberal hoax.”  I put my fist through his fvcking head. Would the next person be so inclined to speak up so?  I think the entire gig would be up…

If one person does it, people may say… Oh, tsk, tsk. That is terrible, brutish behavior.  But if 99 people do it for every person holding up progress, the myth that man-made global warming is a hoax will rapidly die.  The sides of wrong have been employing such tactics for years…  “Oh, you’re gay?  We’re going to beat you up and leave your body on a barb wire fence”.  Or Selma. “Oh, think you can challenge whitey’s rule, huh?  Well how about you try challenging this?” WHACK, THUD.  The same people letting in the wolves, are the same people who think Timothy McVey is a hero for what he did.

These are sick people and the only way to make them see their ill ways is to punch them in the jaw.  No warning  (Ok, ladies, you can slap them then, doesn’t have to be  punch)…  Just something to punish their stupidity.  Would you let your child say something like that in public? Of course not. You’d back hand him so fast he wouldn’t know what hit him.. “Stop Lying.”  “Don’t tell lies.”

Remember just a decade ago where the boys gather on the outside of a Midwestern town to settle by a fistfight, who was better, Ford or Chevrolet?  If it is ok to do such in a Super Bowl Commercial for a stinkin’ truck, isn’t it even more acceptable to do so for the saving of the planet?

There is no more argument. The last decade of ten years of argument, has come to one conclusive conclusion.. What that conclusion is, is evident  to you in the video shown above.

Here is your piece of the puzzle. All you have to do is next time someone says man made global warming is not true, instantly hit them in the face. When they say, “what the hell did you do that for”, reply with… “stop lying”.

End of problem. Sometimes you have to treat little kids like little kids.

We knew this but it  is now being published… and so it is in the news.

The world is getting warmer… and we can now predict our climate by looking at map at 300 miles south and guessing what our weather will be from that…

Just as plate tectonics and  Darwin’s origin of the species were able to lay the groundwork of reason  for explaining puzzling observations, this simplifies what to expect from global warming rather startlingly.

Texas is now  what we alway thought of when we considered the weather of Mexico; Oklahoma is now West Texas; Kansas is now Oklahoma; Nebraska is now Kansas; South Dakota is now Nebraska, North Dakota is now South Dakota: Southern Manitoba is now North Dakota…..

If  West Texas had 3 days of rain, now Oklahoma is getting 3 days of rain;  If it snowed 12  times in South Dakota, it is now doing the same in North Dakota… and so on.

So, to predict our heat, rain, winters, etc, our guide would be North Carolina.  Longer growing seasons,  some winters with no snow, hot summers…

However due to Global warming, the East Coast has a caveat.  An anomaly so to speak  and actually some relief from the North Carolina summer heat we would normally expect….

With the unprecedented melting of the Arctic and Greenland icecaps dumping its excess into the Labrador Current, that cold water drops South hugging the East Coast shoreline all the way down to North Carolina’s Outer Banks where it finally becomes neutralized…   Therefore even though we have hotter air masses, the colder ocean temperatures creates a buffer against Global warming off the entire northeastern US.

Europe, Japan, and Alaska all experience  the same mitigating effect, although with both Greenland and the Arctic Icecaps melting into the Labrador, the US East Coast gets a stronger volume of cold water.  Call it our icy shower effect….

Once melting stops and the currents dry up, we return to the North Carolina scenario of the twentieth century….

So, we in Delaware really get the best climate on the East Coast.    Warm winters, little or no snow, and cool breezy summers….. as well as a longer growing period, and… less dependence on fossil fuels for winter heating.

Gee, global warming isn’t so bad for Delaware after all….  Oh, the rising seas?  There you go again… Why did you have to spoil the rosy picture I was painting?

Breakdown of Aid For Sandy by District

This was fascinating. If there is any correlation, it appears that those calling themselves ‘merican when giving their Census information, were the most likely to vote against helping anyone else but themselves.

Behavior is 90% determined by our genetics. I was curious if there was a statistical correlation. At a first glance it appears there is, but more delving into the numbers is required.

Prior to this brainstorm I had been puzzled as to how that vote as portrayed on the map, could be pigeon holed. Just looking at the aid vote really didn’t make sense with the current models in place after this election cycle…. One would have expected the red States to vote no, and the blue states to vote yes…

No Bread For You

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack today designated 597 counties in 14 states as primary natural disaster areas due to drought and heat, making all qualified farm operators in the areas eligible for low-interest emergency loans. These are the first disaster designations made by the U.S. Department of Agriculture in 2013…

The 597 primary counties designated as disaster areas Wednesday by USDA were in these states: Alabama, 14; Arkansas, 47; Arizona, 4; Colorado, 30; Georgia, 92; Hawaii, 2; Kansas, 88; Oklahoma, 76; Missouri, 31; New Mexico, 19; Nevada, 9; South Carolina, 11; Texas, 157; and Utah, 17.

The majority are Republican states.   (So..  Let’s hold up their “budget-busting” disaster aid for 3 months on high minded principle and see how they like it.)

Wheat growers in the Southern Plains have known the effects of a drought for about 120 consecutive weeks, and now their neighbors to the north have been added to the drought disaster list….

But wait.  The year is only 20 days old!  Disaster Areas? As in Hurricane Sandy?  Yes. Man-made global warming is here to stay.  It is worse than we ever imagined.  It’s not just summer anymore.

The 597 counties have shown a drought intensity value of at least D2 (Drought Severe) for eight consecutive weeks based on U.S. Drought Monitor measurements, providing for an automatic designation….

The Drought Monitor measures drought intensity on a scale from D1 to D4, as follows:

D1: Moderate Drought

D2: Severe Drought

D3: Extreme Drought

 D4: Exceptional Drought.

In 2012, USDA designated 2,245 counties in 39 states as disaster areas due to drought, or 71 percent of the United States

Because of catastrophic man-made global warming, we will pay $5 a loaf for bread. Had it not been for false learning centers lying about data and calling global warming a hoax, like Delaware’s Caesar Rodney Insititute, we could have worked to prevent this years ago…..

Delaware is primarily spared… ironically also by Global Warming.  It seems the melting ice caps are sending a lot more cold water down along the Eastern coasts and that modifies our local climate enough to cause rain.

So I heard the aid to our friends in New Jersey and New York was passed and wasn’t really worried. It was supposed to. A meesly 9 Billion dollars and then 51 Billion later. So later, I was thinking, gee, did anyone vote against that… I wasn’t the only one thinking that…

The New York Daily News was at the top of the charts with a front page headline that screams… Remember the 67 Republicans in House of Representatives who turned their backs on Hurricane Sandy victims

The Daily Beast was right behind it….

Yes. All 67 were Republicans… Let’s get what this Republican “NO” vote says… It says, “YOU DO NOT DESERVE EVEN A MEESLY 9.7 BILLION TO BUILD OUT FROM HURRICANE SANDY!!! YOU SUCK YOU EAST COAST LIBERAL FUCKIN’ SCUM.” That is what this vote is saying… It’s not $60 billion. It’s not $100 billion. It’s not a trillion. It’s $9.7 Billion….

The New York Times has a great interactive map showing they yea’s and nay’s…

Some surprises…. or not… Remember, Republicans are the lowest human element here.

Steven Pallazo, Gulf Coast Mississippi… (Remember Hurricane Katrina?) Look what Google pulls up for him…U.S. Rep. Steven Palazzo helps Vietnam vet replace medals lost in Hurricane Katrina Oh, he’ll help his own replace a medal, but won’t help a New Yorker get someplace to live… Typical republican… are you surprised?

Mississippi’s Fourth Congressional District, which Palazzo has represented since 2011, includes the city of Biloxi, one of the most heavily damaged communities in the region by Hurricane Katrina. Congress quickly passed an initial $10.5 billion relief package in the immediate aftermath of Katrina in September of 2005

John Flemming, (R La) Had his own primary and runoff election canceled because of Hurricane Gustav, but voted no on relief for Hurricane Sandy. Flemming was involved in controversy when one of his 33 Subway franchises refused service to two Muslims because of their religion. Perhaps because Muslims live in New York?….

Andy Harris R-MD. EASTERN SHORE including the area of Ocean City, Maryland, which lost it’s pier to Hurricane Sandy…. UNBELIEVINGLY voted no aid to Sandy victims… His response? “This really wasn’t aid for the victims. What this was raising the debt ceiling limit”…. WTF…. Typical republican… are you surprised?

Randy Weber R-TX, took Ron Paul’s district, and just a year ago, was according to his tweeter feed, “Sitting in on a Galveston Erosion Response Plan in Galveston City Hall…” trying to get FEDERAL AID to stem Galveston’s Beach Erosion. But, he won’t support money for ‘dem liberals with no houses up in dat der liberal country.” Typical republican… are you surprised?

This just boggles the mind.

You have Mo Brooks of Alabama, who practically went door-to-door in his state after tornados to explain to them how to best get their federal money

Representative Sam Graves of Missouri…. co sponsored a much greater bill for flooding in his state… His quote…“This bill would take into account the new data points caused by this past year’s flood,” said Rep. Sam Graves. “This will ensure that we are prepared for a new worst-case scenario. As communities, roads and farmland all along the Missouri River begin to dry out, now is the time to start making common sense changes to the way the river is managed. This is a good first-step.” Check out this headline! Graves supporting flood insurance extension, but he won’t fund the exact same bankrupt fund for Hurricane Sandy victims.

But ‘dem Liberals in New York are just panhandlers… they want stuff for free…. typical Republican…. are you surprised?

This is going to be the big story this weekend… It boggles the mind. How can any human being take something for his district, then deny that exact same thing to others?

There is something really sick in America.

A lot of words have expressed on this blog, just how bankrupt the Republican philosophy is. Let everyone fend for themselves; government should help no one. We have tried to make a distinction between those Republicans who are decent people and who have just hang onto the name because they don’t want to bear the difficulty of re-registering, and those others, a slim sliver of public opinion who actually believe the philosophy upon which their billionaire donors insist:

Money is only for rich people and should never, never be wasted on anyone not in the 1%….

Republicans from Hurricane Sandy’s path are finding that out today. The $60 billion relief package already passed by the Senate, which would have passed the House this past session, WAS PURPOSEFULLY NOT BROUGHT TO THE FLOOR FOR A VOTE…

Peter King, formerly a harsh critic of President Obama before the election, is rumored to be switching parties. He did call upon all New Yorkers never to donate to Republican House of Representatives. Republican Governor Chris Christie, who may now run for the Democratic Presidential nomination, lambasted the Republican Party…. Loosely translated this is what he said… ” They are fuckin’ assholes who this morning forgot to eat their shit for breakfast.”

My, don’t Republicans always bring out the best of people… We just love having them around…..

If you gotten any mail from your homeowners or business insurance pull it out now.  Go to usually the third from the last page and look for flood damage.  Often like bills flowing through the House or Senate, these policies simply tell you to  “delete these words” and “substitute these words’.  Unless you have an old policy to cross reference, you probably do not know  where you stand. Your friendly Democratic reminder.  These were put in place by Republicansand were buttressed against the Democratic assault to change them, by the Tea Party…   Their motto:  Private companies Know Best, won the day. Here is what to look for.

  • Homeowners’ insurance typically doesn’t cover floods; do you have a flood insurance rider?
  • Check the definition of “flood”.  Does it cover  storm surge, burst pipes, water seepage, and basements filling up with water?
  • Look for “anti-concurrent causation“;  does your insurance policy cover simultaneous events? From both wind AND water?
  • How much will your insurance pay?  Renew like new? To make it livable? Or to offer “some” financial assistance.
  • How high is your deductible.  When you bought, it was 50 dollars.  Today claimants are discovering it is $10,000…..
  • Does your coverage only cover hurricanes?  Sandy was only classified as  a depression when over Delaware.

That is what those who have private insurance through Bain Capital invested companies are discovering today….  Those fortunate to be in a Federal Disaster Area, have access to complete coverage through interestingly FEMA (the Federal Emergency Management Agency) which does provide insurance through NFIP (the National Flood Insurance Program). Romney said get rid of FEMA and give it to the states, or even better to private insurance companies…. which he owns, of course…. Bottom line, check your policies and if you see any Republican in your daily travels,   tell them STFU….

Doing canvassing yesterday while enjoying the great weather,  this exchange happened as we came acoss the door of a Sussex  County curmudgeoned Republican…..

“Save your vocal chords.  I never voted for a Democrat and I never will.”

“We came to talk to you about the storm… ”

“The storm huh?  Sandy… Now we know what Florida goes through.”

“Yeh, are you ready for it?”

“Ready as I’ll ever be.”   “I’ve been paying insurance on this for 35 years, ’bout time I get some of it back in new repairs.”

“Well, you know when a little insurance company runs out of money, it doesn’t have to pay you anything right?”

“Really?  How can that be?”

“Well they are a business, and when a business goes bankrupt, it doesn’t pay anything.”

“With my luck that will happen to me.  ` I know the guy, and he’s insured a lot of houses ’round here, and he don’t got the money to pay for them all.”

“That’s why, it’s important that an area gets declared a Federal Disaster Area.  Then the Federal government guarantees any defaults, and all the work can get done…. ”

“Oh, that’s why they do it?”

“And,” I said winking and pointing to the big Obama sticker on my windbreaker, ” you know who the President is who will declare it, don’t you?”

“Figured you were going to get some political point in…”

“But, you probably don’t remember, because there were so many Republican debates ,  but Romney stood up and said in his administration, that he would get rid of Federal Disaster Reliefs.   He said send it to the states, and even better, let private companies like your little insurance company bear all the cost….”

“Really?”

“Well, it fits.. He’s got to cut not just the $11 trillion deficit from Bush, and the $5 trillion to jump start the economy,  but the $8 trillion he is adding onto it as well.  Seriously.  He’s giving Disaster Relief  to the states.  Can you imagine how little ole Delaware is going to pay for this head-on hit from a hurricane?  Without Federal help? ”

“Well, I guess I should be glad this hurricane happened before election day…. “

” Ha, ha… unlike under Republicans, you’re still in good hands, ma’am… good hands….  Hopefully we’ll see you in the future, storm coming and all. Good luck, and remember,   it’s the policies we vote for,… that are really what makes the difference…. “
