After All, Who Hates The Swiss

I wanted to poke a hole in this balloon before it gets too big. Mike Huckabee is jumping the shark now that he thinks he is the only voice of the Republican Party….

For those of the Judea-Christian tradition, the First Commandant given to Moses, is “thou shall have no other God before me”… fair enough.

The second, is, “thou shall worship no graven image”. Historically that has always meant not to put God into inanimate objects… Again. fair enough.

Yet that is the opposite of what Huckabee is doing, and the opposite of what Santorum carried out.
Both are speaking about forming a “Christian” Government. Both are speaking about “Christian” Businesses….

To be clear, this is something they have invented. God in no way blesses one business because it carries the seal of his approval, and dooms another because they do not… The business is neutral.

Jesus said nothing about a business being Christian. Nothing. All Jesus’s words were about humans. The Apostle Paul, said nothing, nothing about a business being Christian. Nothing. As Jesus, all his teachings were about human conduct.

In fact, the notion of Christian business did not occur until this year, and only then, after they lost the election.. The idea that God would live in a business and flow through every transaction, blessing every coin, and keeping the utility rates low, really is a new commodity in religious thinking.

Also new, is the idea that we should have a “Christian” Government. What does that mean, we burn heretics at the stake?

The biggest point is, if you seek to have a Christian business, or to establish a Christian government, you are violating the 2nd Commandment, you are committing a sin.

Flat truth is… all business is neutral… all government is neutral…. God is a personal god, and only lives in people., If you were to put a lot of Christian people in a government, I suppose one could name it anything one wants, and I suppose that if everyone was of the same persuasion, that government inhabited by those people would operate also along the same lines of philosophy….

But, if those people were ever changed out, and new people put in, the government wouldn’t follow those same values… Proving once and for all, that government is neutral… It has no religion… It’s purpose is to govern…

So only in “the Tea Party of America”, can neutrality be deemed a negative object…. Where a nation that treats all persons equally is hated because it won’t favor one sliver of a tiny minority over the 99% of the majority… It must elicit confusion that members of the fundamentalist right would look upon the government’s neutrality as being negative.

After all, who hates the Swiss?

It Is Now An Obligation….

After every tragedy we’ve talked about doing something to stop random violence with assault weapons.

We talk.

The last person who “did” anything, was James Brady who said enough is enough and pushed the “Brady Bill” over the NRA’s dead body into law.

It is time for the next step.

Every American must ask themselves. Since there will be no compromise, which is more important for America’s future?

Then we need to start to work. I think it is safe to say that after Newtown, Connecticut, we are done with options. It has now become,… an obligation for us to stop this trend….

We need to act soon, before the next perpetrator, tries to outdo even this tragedy……

Please Make Them Go Away!!

Tomorrow, is the day… like a wedding, can’t wait for it to finally be over so life can go on again…. But there is one last thing to do.

Look at the Republican Party. The only reason Romney is doing well, is because he pivoted in the first debate, and became a liberal. His past track record had almost pushed him to the point of no return, until he reinvented himself upon that first debate stage. In other words, Romney is now the more liberal candidate, if one just looks at what he has said since October 4th.

However the old message is still prevalent in Delaware’s Republican exoskeleton. Kovach who once was considered a decent person, is now a compromised decent person. Kevin Wade, is nothing more than a word to rhyme with suede. Jeff Craig wants us to believe that if you can run a 16 X 40 foot retail outlet buried in the middle of a Fairfax strip mall, you can run the entire state’s government. Greg Lavelle believes that if you trash your opponent hard enough, you will get elected. Cathy Cloutier believes that no one gives enough of a hoot, making it so simple that she can be endorsed by the pro choice and pro life movements in the same election. Evan Quietsch believes the United Nations has set up a secret outpost somewhere in the woods of the 11th District, and that his challenger is the Manchurian Candidate who is actually from Manchuria. Rick Jensen has to ignore 99% of a story to make his case in support of any Republican who shows up on his show. Dori Conner, is running “Go, Go William Penn” down in Cavalier Country. NCCE Blake has to put stickers on his campaign signs, that say “I’m not Tom Gordan.” Then there is DelawarePolitics.Net, which although it has great people, they all get their orders from Homer Simpson. There is Brian Pettyjohn who, whenever his name gets mentioned, reminds one of the Lollypop Guild soliciting a hooker on the side of the Yellow Brick Road… And then, there was Two Timing Booth, kicked out for…. oh my. Don’t even get me started on Bodenweiser…. And above all this mess, flies the green faced witch on her magic broom, saying 2014, 2014…..

What happened? Siegler, is this what happens when you put the NRA actually in charge of something?

From top to bottom this party is (I’ll bend over backwards and be very nice here)…. dysfunctional… It is time for it to go away….

I heard a caller put it very well on Al Masciti this morning. Business needs representation. With this party they don’t have it. What they do have is Jack Markell, Chip Flowers, and Beau Biden, working with them as well as representing “we the people” who simultaneously do the necessary work for these businesses as well as us who depend on their health to live well ourselves…..

Delaware works better as a single party state than as a two party one…. Why? Simply put, everyone is an individual again. There is no reason NOT to work with someone who’s viewpoint is different from yours… It is called “compromise” and with today’s Republican Party from the top down, that compromise gene is simply not in their chromosomes……

Now here is my argument… Any vote for any Republican, weakens our state. I’m guessing we need an 85/15 democratic majority to permanently make this party go away…. I’m worried that many in Delaware may not vote this time because our national election is a foregone conclusion, and really, there is no reason to suspect or worry that any Republican will win….

Here is why you must… Your vote against the Republican Party, is needed to make it be gone forever….. We need single party government now more than ever… WE need cooperation between workers and businesses, and only one party, the Democratic one, can provide that.

Some say we need another voice to balance out one party rule… We will have them. 21 separate voices in the Senate, and 45 separate ones in the House, but only if they are all Democrat … Every person is an individual, and every person has to represent their district. There are some conservative districts, there are some progressive districts. but it still will take a majority to get anything passed.

At least if there is only one party, they will get things done the old fashioned way. The conservatives will express their needs, the progressives will express their needs, and some type of compromise all can live with, will get hammered out….

That can’t happen if there are Republicans anywhere in government to mess things up…..

So do your civic duty… Vote Democratic or Libertarian, or any another candidate…. Just make Republicans go away…. I used to like watching cartoons on Saturday… Now, that I have to watch them 365 days at 24/7, it is too much…. (Now, where’s that Advil?)

Make them go away.

The Horribleness of the GOP

This is from Huckabee who like me is horrified how the GOP threw Akin under the bus. Here is insight into the quality of those people we will be putting in to head our Executive Branch if we elect a Romney Ryan ticket….

They believe in force; not logic or the art of winning arguments…..

Talking point memos sent from the National Republican Senatorial Committee offering the exact proper language to express to the press to help urge Akin to drop out…

Political consultants were ordered to stay away from Akin or lose future business with GOP committees….

Operatives were recruited to set up a network of pastors to call Akin to urge him to get out…..

Money has changed hands to push him off the plank…

In Huckabee’s words….IT IS DISGRACEFUL……

There is a vast, but mostly quiet army of people who have an innate sense of fairness and don’t like to see a fellow political pilgrim bullied. If Todd Akin loses the Senate seat, I will not blame Todd Akin. He made his mistake, but was man enough to admit it and apologize. I’m waiting for the apology from whoever the genius was on the high pedestals of our party who thought it wise to not only shoot our wounded, but run over him with tanks and trucks and then feed his body to the liberal wolves. It wasn’t just Todd Akin that was treated with contempt by the thinly veiled attack on Todd Akin. It was all the people who have faithfully knocked doors, made calls, and made sacrificial contributions to elect Republicans because we thought we were welcome in the party. Todd Akin owned his mistake. Who will step up and admit the effort being made to discredit Akin and apologize for the sleazy way it’s been handled?”…..

Democrat or Republican… is this how you want your government run for four more years? Like it is an extension of Bain Capital? Where truth doesn’t matter? Where there is no forgiveness? Where people are pawns to be moved around at will….

Most disgusting is the fact that pastors were recruited to call on Akin to step down… After this, NO ONE CAN BELIEVE ANY PASTOR WHO SAYS THEY SUPPORTS ROMNEY… It begs the question: “GEE, HOW MUCH IS HE GETTING PAID?”

At least Obama is a real Christian…….
