In last Sunday’s debate: “You bragged that you have sexually assaulted women. Do you understand that?” Cooper asked. Trump insisted that wasn’t the case. Cooper asked three times whether Trump denied that he had ever done such a thing. Finally, Trump replied, “No, I have not,” and quickly changed the subject.

Five women have come forward to say that Trump sexually assaulted them..

1) Jessica Leeds told the paper that watching the debate made her want to punch Trump. She said that she was seated next to him during a flight three decades ago, when he began touching her breasts and tried to put his hand up her skirt. “He was like an octopus,” she said. “His hands were everywhere. It was an assault.”

2) Rachel Crooks introduced herself to Trump at an office in 2002; her company did business with his. She shook his hand, but then he didn’t let go, and then, she said, forcibly kissed her on the mouth. “It was so inappropriate,” she said. “I was so upset that he thought I was so insignificant that he could do that.”

3) Mindy McGillivray told The Palm Beach Post that Trump had groped her while she was assisting a photographer friend at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in January 2003.

4) A Miss USA contestant from Washington state reportedly posted on Facebook that Trump had groped her.

5) Natasha Stoynoff, a former People reporter, wrote for that magazine about an assault that she says occurred while she was writing a story on the first anniversary of Trump’s wedding to Melania Knauss in 2005.

Already we have discovered one more molestee of Trump than he could sit at a table (4) to intimidate Bill Clinton’s wife… So are those stories really so horrible that happened in the 1970’s, and Trumps then must be much worse, OR, if he dismisses his stories as just fun in the sun or feeling friskey a few times, how can he hold much lesser incidents that happened to Hillary’s husband, as something sinister and morally repugnant?

So either all 5 of these stories are not true….. OR… someone lied to the American people BIG TIME in the 2nd debate…

It’s Bill Cosby…. all over again….. The dam is crumbling as we speak… this article may be out of date when you wake up tomorrow….

So….  guess who supports both lying to the American people and sex offending?

Perhaps some of you would like to click on some of their links and ask them to respond to you why they still support someone who brazenly lied and is an unregistered sex offender who has the highest position in their party?

By now, you really must begin to wonder what is wrong with them and whether any of them are really fit, or have the moral fiber necessary to represent real people in the people’s government……

I would normally be crowd surfing or moshing right now.. But Hurricane Bill shut down Firefly cold…  So I’m doing this because sleep is out of the question….  I’m calling tonight….. Fireflop…..

But sometimes great events happen because outside influences jump up and change ones direction.  That sort of happened today as I stumbled on a link I rarely have perused….

One percent of One percent gave 29% of all fundraising for the off election of 2014……  This is the cataclysmic failure of Citizens United, which said undisclosed cash was the same as spouting off the mouth:  free speech and no limits could be applied…

Which is purely ridiculous…

Because if I say…. you’re crazy and you say to me… no, your crazy… we have some sort of balance or equality… But if you say you’re crazy $1.18 billion times more than I do…. then saying the two are equal is like saying a glass of water and Lake Superior are both equal, because they are both made up of water…

Which is purely ridiculous….

Who are these people?

Just 3…. of them, gave over $10 million.  57 more, gave over $1 million….  which puts us up to $87 million of the $1180 millions that made up 29% of all money spent.  The other 31,916 donors, or one percent of one percent of the population, averaged out $34,250 apiece to the candidates of their choice…..

They’re mostly male, tend to be city-dwellers and often work in finance. Slightly more of them skew Republican than Democratic. The last election cycle set records as the most expensive midterms in U.S. history, and the country’s most prolific donors accounted for a larger portion of the total amount raised than in either of the past two elections.  The 29 percent disclosed to the Federal Election Commission in 2014 is a greater share of the total than in 2012 (25 percent) or in 2010 (21 percent)….

These deep pocketed donors were increasingly playing the role of “political gatekeepers.” Candidates needed their backing — and cash — as did the parties and super PACs that depended on the support of the politically active elite.  So unless one receives their select approval… one is doomed from the start…..

What this means… is everyone we elect, must do the bidding of this small group of people if they wish to continue in office… Now it does not take a rocket scientist or political genus to figure out that in the battle between the wealthy and the middle class, whose side these donors will be on……

Which should make it clear why everyone you know and talk to, thinks our representatives are crazy for voting the opposite of how we think they should vote… “What’s wrong with him?” we mutter.

Well, nothing is wrong with him, except for the fact that he wants to get re-elected…. and he therefore has to vote the way his benefactors want him to vote, even if it goes against the majority of his constituency’s wishes…. Because he knows their is a good chance you will forgive him and vote for him again, and again, and again, because that is what you have always done… But piss someone off who gave you $1 million?  You know that $1 million is going into the campaign fund of someone who will run against you… and you can’t match it….

So Citizens United has destroyed democracy and free speech; not risen up to save it…

Which is why, if we wish democracy to continue to be our form of government…. we need to seriously get behind the Constitutional Amendment to overturn Citizens United, and regulate how much wealthy people can spend to control our government…..

In the now classic words of Mitt Romney…..it is obvious that “you don’t matter”.

income_growth_and_inequality

You should be making $18,000 more a year right now.  And would, except for the inequality put in place  beginning with the trickle down policies of Ronald Reagan… now more appropriately called “tinkle” down economics…

The bottom get pissed on.

The heavy line shows where you would be if the average rate of growth from across the years ’79 to ’10 were applied evenly.  The lighter line shows the reality….

99% of us are all earning an average of $18,000 less than we should be…  So how does this break down?

Average household incomes grew by 53.4 percent from 1979 to 2007. But that didn’t break down equally:

  • The bottom fifth of households saw their income go up by 29.2 percent, well below the 53.4 percent average.
  • Income for the middle fifth of households grew by a measly 19.7 percent.
  • But how did people a little higher up, but not at the very top, do? A little better, but still below average: households between the 81st and 90th percentiles—so in the bottom half of the top fifth of the income ladder—had just 39.1 percent income growth. Again, well below that average of 53.4.
  • So how far up do you have to go before you hit the average? The 91st to the 95th percentile almost got there, with 53 percent average growth. But they fell just short. Households between the 96th and 99th percentile seriously exceeded 53.4 percent, though. They had average income growth of 78.1 percent.
  • That’s nothing compared to the top 1 percent, though: Their income grew by 244.7 percent, close to five times the average.

It is clear that most of the overall income gains from 1979 to 2007 bypassed the vast majority of American households. As such, their living standards are lower than they would be had these gains been shared more broadly.

Ways To Share More Broadly.

A.  Raise the Minimum Wage:  $10.10 is a start.

B.  Organize More (and throw out ineffective current bosses) Unions. Override All State Laws Outlawing Unions.

C.  Reduce Wage Theft:  charging workers for uniforms, drinks, food, supplies. Cheating on overtime.

D. Tax the top 1% appropriately…  Include Capital Gains as income. Tax Corporations at the same rate as individuals. Raise the top marginal percents to these levels…

  • Over $1 billion in income…  tax rate of 60%
  • $500 million to $1 billion in income  = 55%
  • $100 million to $500 million in income  = 50%
  • $50 million to $100 million in income =  45%
  • All the rest: no change….

On top of this, allow all money put into capital improvements, to be deducted dollar for dollar. (Capital improvements require building things).  The rational is that if you put that money into capital improvements, you are improving this nation as much as if you were directly paying taxes to it.  Perhaps more so.

This can be done, but it must be done with a Democratic Executive, and over 60 Democrats in the Senate (or change the filibuster rules), and a fully Democratic House.  That is what has to happen for any change.  If it doesn’t happen then Americans rightly get what they deserve for being stupid.  Because we all know that Republicans are quite happy with the very fact that you ARE making $18,000 less than you should and quite happy that they are the ones receiving it, not you…….

It wasn’t supposed to go that way. And it shouldn’t go that way…..

Delaware’s Unions, particularly the Building and Trades, have over-stepped.  In a world where the one percent owns 45% of America’s assets, where billions are being spent to destroy unions in every capacity, where the middle class has succumbed to its worst level since 1880, the rat-demon that the Building and Trades chose to blacken, was Delaware’s biggest friend of labor, John Kowalko.

There is something very sick in Delaware’s unions…  That this was ever allowed shows complicity with the 1%.

The only people hurt by not putting the power plant inside the University of Delaware, were those investors who spent $800,000 and got nothing.  It would be safe to say none of them were of the 99%.   When something else goes in, those jobs will be there as well.  Labor did not lose one job…

Instead, we just got further proof that in Delaware, labor has been coerced, infiltrated, and is being run by the 1%… No normal working man would want to poison 30,000 people into cancer by his efforts.  We all know the 1% have no qualms with killing people as long as they make over 5%…..

Organized labor is no longer working for its members.  Whether it is the DSEA, AFSCME, or the Building Trades, the lack of new jobs here in Delaware is due to only one thing.  Their coziness with those with money… the big 5 developers and their friend, the governor.

I know the details of why there is a history behind it this coziness.. But there was also a history behind Colonial America and Great Britain… But at some point a split had to occur.

When you have Quisling leaders telling their members that “yeah, they are doing everything they can”, and at the same time telling the Delaware Way that they “got their people handled”, it is their members who are getting royally screwed…..

It is past time to scrap old leaders.  It is past time for new aggressive leadership, someone in their 30’s..  It is time for work stoppages again.  It is time for muscle…  When you have our ex-heroes, “organized labor”, those who built the America we had (at least up through 2000),  attacking their most ardent legislative supporter in the General Assembly because he wouldn’t go along and maliciously kill 30,000 of his constituents with cancer, you have a corrupt and poorly lead organization…. They are not working for their members; they are working for Charlie Copeland!

I hereby pull my support for prevailing wage….  and urge John Kowalko and every legislator elected from the Greater Newark Area up through Hockessin to do so as well. …

Until unions get new aggressive leadership who will daringly take on the Delaware Way and grind it up and crush it, forget it, I won’t reconsider.

Florida and Missouri…

When was the last national murder outrage in a Democratic state? I think it was in the Republican enclave of LA, with Rodney King, in the otherwise Democratic state of California….

But I don’t know of any in New York. Vermont… Massachusetts…. Rhode Island…. Minnesota…. It always seems to take place in states that have lots and lots of Republicans…. like Missouri… and Florida…..

I don’t mean to cast disparagement upon all Republicans, but this is a puzzling conundrum… Why is it only Republican states that exist in such a state of dysfunction, that when someone murders a black, they get away with no criminal charges?

I think several generalities apply.

One, Republicans are just plain scared of black people. “Don’t get out of your car till he passes”..

Two, Republican philosophy stresses individuality as well as that a government’s rules and regulations should not apply to people and that everyone already in power should be allowed to do whatever it is they wish, because they are the “true” Americans and have a little flag patch on their upper sleeve to prove it….

Three, Republicans believe that having a gun, means killing something… What’s the point of being a policemen (or self-appointed vigilante) if you can’t kill your fellow human beings the Republican mentality goes. We saw it in Florida’s legislature. They throughly enjoyed and almost could not contain their rapture that their law, allowed for the public elimination of a black person. Almost it seemed that any means available to legally kill black people, especially if it gets around that inconvenient(to them) law that says, black people are equal to whites and deserve the same protections,… is something good….

Four, Republicans honestly feel blacks are not people… “Those darky things, over there..” they say. Republicans unlike Democrats, do not see blacks as their fellow brothers or sisters from a different mother…

Five, Republicans have an inflated sense of their own importance. If they tell you to stop, and you do, it gives them the right to shoot you dead… Sort of as in, “I’m SOOOOOOOOO IMPORTANT… I AM THE OMNIPOTENT AND CAN KILL PEOPLE WITH IMPUNITY. BUT IF I KILL WHITE PEOPLE, SOMEONE WILL BE MAD. HEY! BLACK PEOPLE DON’T MATTER. CAUSE ROMNEY, SAID SO…

I’ll stop there. Now keep in mind, not all Republicans feel that way. Chris Christie, for example, would agree exactly with everything I said, if he was talking about a fringe of his party… Because they are a fringe. Just like those clowns at Bundy’s ranch, those people who were too insane for mental internment so we gave them guns and banished them to a desert…. So I think all (even Republicans) can agree. It is this fringe that keeps biting all good Republicans in the ass… And we have to wonder why?

I think we can see the answer right here in Charlie Copeland, who is in charge of trying to mend a party that was shattered into single atoms, back into a viable political entity… In order to have any numbers promoting his self-respect, he has to cater to the fringe: those outlandish impostors who think they alone are a gift to all under-aged women… In Delaware, the far right fringe eliminated all viable Republicans from power. I believe that in other states, which due to their geography may be less Democratic, one encounters far more fringe elements and therefore, the party must due to their numbers, cater to their episodes of psychological dysfunction….

This allows the fringe to think they can act with impunity, and if they want to shoot a black person… what the heck. no one cares… stupid fool happened to show up while I was here… Oh look, he’s stopped running away and is putting his hands up? Good, let me get closer. Ok, he’s only 5 feet away, I can hit that. Let me empty this clip into his freaking big head… Pow. Pow. Pow. Pow. Pow. Pow. Pow. Pow… Ewww wow, neat “O”.. did you see how his head exploded with each hit and all that blood and meat shot everywhere… Cool… Wonder if there is another one I can still shoot?…

And that is my theory on why, white cops shooting underage black children, can only occur in states run by Republicans… Because there is no consequence. If you only said… the next black child who gets killed by a white police man, will cause all handguns, assault rifles, and miniature cannons to become illegal in the state of Missouri or Florida, then such incidents simply would never happen. For there would be real consequences then…. If in your capacity as a police officer you accidentally shot and killed a black child, the NRA would have you dead before the sun rose the next day.

It is Mark Murphy’s statement in the News Journal when they asked him about the solid vote of non-confidence in his leadership, caused by his botched elementary gym-styled rollout of Common Core.

I have yet to find anyone NOT talking about it.  I was going to leave it alone because what’s the point?  If everyone is talking about it already, why waste my time?

Then I saw something that no one else seems to have picked up…. So here I am….

First, refresh yourself with the quote, and then we will walk the hard facts… The quote:

“While we are seeing positive results in the classroom and teachers are receiving more feedback, we are committed to continuing to work with our educators to improve,” Murphy said. “However, placing a hold on the use of student growth would move us backward and would deny everyone in our system the feedback that will help them ensure our students graduate ready to succeed in college or career.”

Let us first assume he is truthful. that will show the logical flaw in his thinking….

They are as follows.

  • We are currently seeing positive results.
  • Teachers are receiving more feedback.
  • Holding the advancement of student growth (firing teachers) would move us backwards.
  • Holding student growth (firing teachers) would deny us feedback.
  • The lack of feedback would make them not ready for college and career.

Translated, he is saying that we are currently improving without “student growth” (firing low score teachers) but we must change to “student growth” (firing of low score teachers) to keep from going backwards.

What is working now he is saying, we must destroy, or we will go backwards.

What is good, he is saying, must now be eliminated; and we must start all over with something brand new in order to not go backwards?

That is the argument…. Now the facts.

The current improvement is coming from the DCAS, a new Delaware test that is used to rate teachers and schools and was agreed by practically everyone…. This is to be scrapped for the Smart Balanced Assessment test, which along with its PARCC test, has traumatized state legislatures across the nation… Indiana and Tennessee have opted out.  Georgia, Oklahoma, and many others are considered to join them.  Parents across the nation are leading the revolution to keep the current system which as Mark Murphy just acknowledged, is doing what it is supposed to and improving education, instead of replacing it with another untried one which will earns a higher profit.

The improvement we are currently seeing is occurring not from, but despite Common Core and Race To The Top… The improvement is due to the diligence of the teaching profession, the support of local districts,  all who agreed to the DCAS system… And the DCAS system is working without “student growth”(firing of teachers), at least according to Mark Murphy….

What isn’t working, is the Component 5 portion(firing of teachers) that has not yet been implemented…

When your car is working perfectly, one doesn’t rush to take it to a shop having a block and tackle, and then let some kid replace the engine with one bought on the cheap from that junkyard north of Smyrna….

Why an ex-elementary gym teacher would advocate doing so,  must make us wonder what connection is has on the side with the Junk dealer north of Smyrna…..

John Young alerted me to this line in the new election law…..

§ 7558. (Municipal) Election results; recounts; contests.

(a) A person certified as being elected shall not take office before the seventh day following certification of the election.

The commissioner of Delaware’s elections certified  the Newark Election on December 3rd, 2013….

December 4th, 2013    Day One

December 5th, 2013    Day Two

December 6th, 2013    Day Three

December 7th, 2013    Day Four

December 8th, 2013    Day Five

December 9th, 2013    Day Six

December 10th, 2013 Day Seven……..

On December 10th, by law, the  new mayor can be sworn in……  That is this coming Tuesday btw and today is Sunday. December 8th…

(In case you don’t know she was sworn in on December 3rd, 2013. )

The real issue is how can anyone run an election and be in such violation of state code?  Either the code is bogus, or rendered meaningless by lax enforcement, or completely ignored by our election overseers, or completely off the Commissioner of Election’s radar and whatever the law states is in another solar system to her.

How can anyone in the computer age, run and win a campaign, and get sworn in, before the law allows?

What kind of state is this, where law is routinely ignored if your position on a controversial issue, aligns  with those wealthy enough to can throw $45,000 of illegal money to throw a town’s election?

The complaint here is not so much about Polly; it is leveled precisely  the Delaware Chamber of Commerce and like groups for attempting to run things their own way, even if a Delaware law stands in their way…..

The law was broken.  Sp what are we going to do about it?

We used to joke about how Bush and Cheney always blamed everything on Clinton… The Iraq War… Clinton’s fault. Hurricane Katrina, Clinton’s fault. 9/11, Clinton’s fault…. the National Debt Crises, Clinton’s fault.

Likewise the Republicans have tried to turn that around and when 12/16ths of the National Debt gets correctly attributed to the tenure of one George W. Bush, they like to trombone…. “blaming Bush, again I see…” So that is the humor and why I put the LOL in my title…

I guess it’s an insider thing….. It just made me laugh out loud as I typed it knowing full well I was setting myself up for the same criticism….

It is called Destroy Obamacare. if you are a Republican you know it very well; you keep deleting it out of your junk mail.. If you are a Tea Partier on the other hand, you open it and use it…..

This is what you see….

“This program continually displays alternate page of the ObamaCare website. It has no virus, Trojans, worms, or cookies. The purpose is to overload the ObamaCare website, to deny service to users and perhaps overload and crash the system,” reads the program’s grammar- and spelling-challenged “about” screen. “You can open as many copies of this program as you want. Each copy opens multiple links to the site.”

“ObamaCare is an affront to the Constitutional rights of the people,” it adds. “We have the right to civil disobedience!”

So when the Tea Party yells very loudly that the Obamacare website on being poorly designed, is indicative of the entire program… perhaps you should ask, hmmm…. if there is something they know and aren’t telling? Like a DDoS attack?

I’m a little late, but I wanted to mark down mostly for myself but sharing it as well, the accomplishments being made as a direct result of last year’s elections….  Some of the conclusions are superfluous, but are perceived to be a result of the election’s consequences, and since perception is nine tenths of reality, they too are a force with which to be reckoned..

Remember this is general and is being painted with a broad brush….

The economy is number one.  Some taxes were raised which boosted the economy almost immediately.  This has been the most consistent trend over the past year.  The economy has benefited the same people it benefited before. It has not seemed to help those who were not helped before.   If you are an investor, this has been a great year.  Stock Market has never been higher.

Image

The number of private sector jobs has consistently grown across 2013…..

Image

One of the marvelous trends is the fact that once the solid line is crossed in the year 2010, it never drops below…  That means we have consistently been growing private sector jobs… Since 2010 we have never had a negative month… one where we actually lost jobs.  However Unemployment has not fared so well.  Even though we are growing jobs, we still have a ways to go.  In one of the most amazing graphs… so amazing I’m rather surprise it has not been featured until now, one sees all employment across this century….

Image.

What is fascinating is first, the constant rate of growth.  the pitch of the line never changes.   But what is freaky, is exactly how that pitch mirrors the employment growth of the Bush years…  Not even Republicans can fault George W. Bush’s employment growth up until 2007.  Obama’s rate mirrors his rate exactly.

It needs more quantified research, but initial speculation would be that since the tax rates were similar (The Bush Cuts were carried over) that factor pretty well determines the maximum rate at which our nation’s economy is able to grow.  Furthermore it shows us that if consistency prevails, and since it has for the past 10 years there is little likelihood it wouldn’t, then we will have grown into employment levels which we had just before the crash in fall of 2014……

So investors have done well; the middle class hasn’t.

Consumer spending is exactly the same level as of the first of the year.  It’s low was reached during the sequester fight (Jan 28) and its high, was on August 18th.  As for now, we are were we were Christmas Day 2012.

Image

Consumer Confidence is right where it was in January.  We had some peaks over summer, but he shutdown lowered us back to where the threat of a shutdown held us hostage as the year began…..

Image

Only since 2013 have we made progress on hammering down the deficit.  The national debt is still huge.  it will take multiple budget surpluses to whittle it down, and to achieve that, we need to again tax more than we spend.  But we are not spending a trillion dollars in deficits anymore. we are only over spending by 600 billion which may become less by years end than 2003’s deficit….

Budget Savings 2013

Enough economics.

On the world front:

  • We have a possible solution to Iran’s giving up on being a nuclear power.
  • We have Syria dismantling their chemical weapons.
  • We are on course to leave Afghanistan.
  • We have Iraq begging us to please, please come back.

All of these would have gone completely the opposite way if you remember what Romney was promising during the debates.

  • Attack Iran with shock and awe.
  • Attack Syria with shock and awe,
  • Attack Iraq with shock and awe… oh wait, that was Rumsfeld.  Instead, Iraq was that we should never leave, and we should also stay in Afghanistan indefinitely.  But we should have never gone into Libya. My goodness, can you image the shambles the world would be in if he had ever been elected?

Not to mention,  his pushing of tightening up the money supply.  Just the anticipation of such, sends our stock market into a panic.

Domestically we have weathered Benghazi, more a Republican talking point than anything important.  We worked through the IRS scandal which it was revealed to be a forward thinking sound policy and not a scandal after all..  Political groups friendly to the president were swept up in the nets as well.

The Common Core package fortunately seems to have stalled.  It was always a low priority, and with the drying up of TARP and Stimulus funding, it seems like most state’s enthusiasm is drying up as well.   The program does not seem to be able to get past the roadblock that the tests themselves create.  There is enough opposition  by enough parents so that this program maybe salvageable in part, but dead in the water as a whole.

It would be nice to have a viable program in its place.  One that aims to put an 11:1 student/teacher ratio in troubled public schools.

But, the most notable event and the one with the biggest blowout, was the revelations by one Edward Snowden which were made last July. America is collecting huge amounts of data.  Since then the leaks have only become worse.  Americans have compromised the entire Internet.  They have broken into banks, they have spied on foreign competitors, they have become a service offering  “information for hire…. ”  And although too early to tell, implications are that is may have been done secretly even keeping the president and his officers completely in the dark….

Which is really scary.  Cheney’s shadow government is alive and well……

If true, this is our greatest threat.  Simply because unlike the economy, unlike unemployment, unlike Syria, Iran, or Israel, unlike the Republican yellow journalistic scandals…. this one is against us.  It violates our Constitution.  It is against all we purport to be…..

One interesting parallel…. Long, long, long ago, the city state of Rome was also a viable democracy, and like us, it too expanded its empire across the known world…  Until Julius Caesar marched his armies into Rome, took over the reins as dictator, done in order to bypass the quagmire in which it’s Congress had become bogged down…  It was originally supposed to be a temporary solution….  For the next 400 odd years, Rome never went back… Instead one bad Caesar followed another, often at the point of a sword (there was no NRA back then)…

Looking the other way at a scandal of this proportion, especially if it was done as a rogue element of which the White House now even barely has a clue as to how deep it goes… and what is has been doing,  then we already have a Caesar, and whoever it is, they are not elected by us, We, The People….

This can be fixed quietly, internally, and we may never hear of its resolution.  Or it could get worse.  Much worse…

The final solution is to cut off the NSA from its unlimited sources of money…. Even shut it down, or better, let a more porous government agency, even that of the CIA take it over….

Spying on American citizens is simply put…. un American.  It has never been who we are.  We’ve always chose the other way.  It does not represent what we want ourselves to be….   Any person could spy on their neighbor if they wished.  Any person could hide in his neighbor’s bushes and watch them get undressed… Most of us would be so creeped out at just the idea, we would never, ever consider doing such a thing.

The fact that most of us would never consider something that creepy, has always been what has made Americans so special, so likable, and so loved the world around…. We were different from those Communists….  Well, not any more.

As each new NSA revelation comes out, one just can’t shake the creepy feeling that somewhere Voldermort,  somehow is pulling all the strings……

Some title, huh?  If you can’t guess, this will be about the News Journal.   We are discussing credibility.

We know what credibility is; we don’t have to define it here for this audience…  Those of you who read the News Journal on a regular basis are aware of the violent rape that occurred in one of the Parks, and yesterday the two perpetrators, young boys of fourteen and fifteen were arrested, and are being held without bail….

I remember hearing the story, I didn’t read it, but was horrified that gangs of bottom level teens were marauding women in our parks.  What has Dennis William wrought upon us?

The real story is that two known prostitutes talked friendly to the boys, and offered them their services.  The boys thought they were getting turned on for free because they were hot stuff, and accepted.  Afterwards the girls tried to exhort payment.  Fourteen and fifteen year old boys in the inner city, don’t have that kind of money.  A fight broke out. The guys tried to get away but were held, and finally broke loose. The girls pressed the rape charge and told their story of being held down by large numbers of black men and raped.

The News Journal knew all this; yet didn’t print any of it.  The story became public through the good reporting one always finds on WDEL (where all the news is free btw).

What the News Journal did is called libel; when you print a lie, and hold it to be the truth.   Apparently the truth was too inconvenient for the News Journal to publish.  It destroyed “their” version of the story (We Can’t Have That), which will sell more papers.  To hell with two boys, incarcerated currently as we speak,  probably raped themselves by now, for agreeing to make out with a couple of girls who seemed friendly and to like them….  It is not rape when the girls initiate the action expecting payment;  if they’d gotten paid, no rape charges would be filed….

One should be infuriated at the actions this poorly reported story has caused.  The heads of the News Journal were reckless in publishing hearsay evidence without asking both sides; simply taking the prostitute’s views only.  All damages inflicted on these two young men, are the result of one false and poorly researched News Journal sensationalized story.

What does this have to do with their educational reporting?

Those familiar with the comings and goings of education reform incorrectly being reported in the News Journal, should immediately recognize the motif...  Tell only one side, Cream it up,  Do not, Repeat, do not, research anyone else who disagrees and knows the real truth…..

As goes rape, so goes educational reporting.

Only the official side gets told.  There is tremendous opposition among parents regarding the implementation of Common Core, based on the damage it did to school children in the 2012-2013 school year.   None of this has come to light.   There is a full court press of opponents to Common Core, so much it almost derailed HB 165, the Charter School legislation, because of the reform policies sneaked into them.

Has the News Journal even mentioned that serious harm is being done to children taking Common Core Classes.  Has it published the documentation demonstrating that Common Core is dumbing down our educational system instead of revamping it?  Has the News Journal mentioned that New York FAILED 70 percent of their students, and that is coming to Delaware?  Has the News Journal even mentioned that college ready is officially defined as being able to pass two years of the lowest grade community college in a row?  And that any student who learns only  Common Core, can never get into a top college or university, especially one of Ivy League status, no matter their IQ?  They simply lack the tools?  Has anyone mentioned that Common Core is separating us into two classes of education. Those privileged in private schools who will get all the good jobs, and everyone else in Public Schools who will fight over everything else?

These reports are all documented across the web.  In fact, there is more scientific evidence across the globe, done by professional evaluators, that speak ill of Common Core than speak well of it.   In fact, because I wanted to believe in it, I have been looking for one single study or example showing any positive results from Common Core teaching over the past 9 months… If it is out there, it is hiding from Google.  Meaning that, for the News Journal to print only one side of the Common Core debate, is on the same level as completely denying that Climate Change exists, ignoring all the mounting evidence to the contrary, and just reporting only what gets said by oil company executives.

I used to blame the new reporter on the Education beat for his one sided-ness.  I now apologize. With the inside knowledge on how this rape story is being mishandled,  I now understand all one-sidedness comes straight from the top… it is forced upon the reporters! The top management of the the News Journal, are sick, sick, sick.  Nothing they clear for publishing anymore is trustworthy….   It is a shame when Kim Kardashian’s alien love-child pictures in the National Enquirer have far more credibility than any of the News Journal‘s reporting on Educational Policy or a rape in a city park.

Period.
