This is post number 2000.

The only real significance is it is 150 posts more than where Tommywonk stopped exactly one year and fifteen days ago…

If some future historian looks back, I can only guess they may kindly make some note of the quality of thought that underlies these efforts, but my guess, is no one will ever notice…

Irregardless, as long as the urge to put thoughts down for others continues, we will go on. As usual, with no goal, no direction, and no ulterior motive. Probably upon reflection, my biggest surprise, right here, right now … is that I still enjoy it so much, and can’t wait to jot my thoughts down, click the button, and send them off to where ever cyberspace and the vast internet ocean, lets them drift….

For each of you who have become regular over the years, … thank you friend…

Jockstrap….

I just couldn’t help but notice he supports almost every Johnson. (Even ones with Swiss spellings… Johansen ….)

Lol…

(title is a chess reference).

There is no worse thing on this planet than a negotiator who agrees to a certain policy, waits for it to get set in stone, and then, just before that policy is implemented, says, no, I’m not for it anymore. People like that are called Finks.

That type of action turned all of America against the Tea Party who actually made it their career to say “we won’t agree until we get this”, and when they got “this” they stormed out anyway, saying “that is not enough, we won’t agree until we get that, and more…” and followed the same process over and over and over again…

There is nothing worse than people who do that….

The Catholic Bishops today are saying the compromise in which health insurers bear the cost of contraception, is not enough, even though it meets their objection of not having any Catholic money go towards paying for contraception…

That actually was a huge concession. Catholic hospitals and schools will not have to pay for contraception, but it will be available for all women who work there to use if they choose.

The current position being taken by the Catholic Bishops actually goes against Church doctrine as well as the teaching of the Lord Jesus Christ, himself….

(Remember, this is the exact same group that thought the best way to deal with priests who preyed Sandusky-like on alter boys, was to whisk them away where those guilty could abuse others who innocently had no idea beside whom they were serving the sacrament.)

The same group.

Bottom line, like the guilty priests, the Catholic Bishops got what they wanted. End of discussion. Any more discussion against this policy, and it becomes extremely obvious it is being done to support the Republican Party. The Church has been bought out by the 1%….

Back to why, prohibiting contraception in one way, violates the core spirit of the teachings of Jesus.

“Blessed are the Poor, for they shall inherit the earth”. “Give all you have to the poor, and you will then be able to enter the Kingdom of God.”

Obviously, if you don’t help the poor, you go to hell… Jesus could not have been more specific or clear.

When you don’t allow a woman to NOT GET PREGNANT, you force her out of being self sufficient, into becoming dependent on poverty.

Being against birth control forces women into poverty. Think about it. If you are single on a $40,000 job, and pregnant, you are out of $40,000 and have no income. Not only is the Catholic Church NOT GIVING ALL THEY OWN TO HELP THE POOR, but without free contraception, they are creating more and more poor, pregnant woman by pregnant woman, by the very position they take….

Bishops need to be queened.

.

In a tragedy far surpassing the global meltdown, the outrage of Gaza, or the pirating of commercial property…. Australian moralists have put their feet down… here it is….. a morality play beyond belief.

This is why we need open government.

CNN is making too much over NOW’s complaint that Obama’s cabinet has too few women.

What’s made up of five women, four African-Americans, three Latinos, two Republicans and two Asians, including a Nobel Prize winner?

The answer is Obama’s cabinet, and some women are not too happy over that…..

You call this news?

Since when has a woman ever been satisfied?

(Well, I shouldn’t have said “ever”; a couple of times one can see them grinning ear to ear over nothing all day long..)

Why I Went Into Science and Math
Courtesy of Current World News

Seeing this jogged some old buried neurons. The human brain is a remarkable instrument. Not only can it store information on hard drive for long periods of time, but it can instantly fire up the emotions associated with that memory.

I guess that’s what makes us human.

My memory caused in me a flow of hormones, and vague, fond memories of sharing those feelings with friends who have not been heard from, since those years long, long ago.

This early preschool crush is probably what directed me foward into the fields of science and math, as well as it may have many of my peers. … Back then, Science was sexy; and just as sex was starting to peek out from underneath the burden of centuries of pregnancy, this cinematic brave new world of tomorrow’s future, appeared personally enticing. Math and science were the easiest paths for one to follow in order to reach that plateau where good sex was obtainable.

Today, sex is totally different. Hip hop videos are considered sexy. Our national youth’s attention has been focused downward in that direction.

It seems that making science and math “really hot” again needs to become a priority in our nation’s interest.

We need to fast track our out-of-work actors and unemployed models into our science and math classrooms across this once great nation. If Britney Spears or Paris Hilton had been my biology teacher, I would not be able to wait for school in the morning….I would walk; no, I would run to school if my bus was ever disabled….

America needs really good teachers.

Math and science again need to become “hot” topics.
