After many discussions revolving around Donald Trump this appears to be his appeal.. When pressed, all tend to admit that the residual consequences have not crossed their mind as of yet.  They are focused on upsetting the apple cart.

Like a drunk Navy guy in a Marine bar fight.  Like a serial killer prowling a university.  Like a mental patient in a Connecticut elementary school… they just want to make a wave…..

A wave  that according to past histories, could end American democracy as we know it….

When questioned why they would do something like that, their argument goes like this…

“All our lifetimes we have been hit with how Republican presidential candidates are like Hitler.  John McCain, Mitt Romney, we were always warned would bring Hitler-like policies that would doom America’s greatness and make us a second rate nation… We tune them out with a yeah, yeah, yeah.. No one believes the Liberal media anymore…”

They have a point.  In the past I do remember how Mitt Romney and John McCain were both politically linked to racial policies associated with Hitler.  Now compared to Trump such associations are laughable.  Those two do seem like mild mannered grandfatherly men now.. One is even leading the NON Trump movement among high rollers of the Republican Party. The other, has to mollify the racially excitable state of Arizona, a state balanced between registrants who are solidly white racists versus those minorities being profiled…

After crying wolf too many times we have an actual wolf at the door; we are letting them come into the party…

And yes, we have those inside the party who don’t like how it is being run, opting to open the door and let the wolf in to create change and havoc they hope to reap benefits from…

The are outcasts from that party, which in analogy represents the American Dream.  They are present at the party as hired help,  as servants to cater to those on the floor dancing, having fun, waltzing to Van Halen’s “Panama“, who at the end of the day get paid $2.23 an hour which is not enough to buy the gas it took to get them there.  If there is a bloodbath and they survive, perhaps they can take some of the food spread across the tables home to their family… That is why they are seriously thinking of letting the wolf in the door…

But this analogy only works if the story stops here… We leave and set the thought process in your head so you think: yes, this is a reasonable solution…

But when you let wolves into an arena the story does not stop there. It begins.  They are unstoppable, racing through the crowd, knocking people down, killing them instantly with one bite in the back of their neck. Against them, there is no defense at least readily available. It’s a party. There were no weapons present. The wolves have their way and do not stop: killing one human after another… Including all those who opened the door….

The only way this story ends is to kill all the wolves, or have all the people die…  Killing the wolves is the better option, and it is very hard work.. Many die in that process because it involves a crowds of people who have nothing to lose, rushing a wolf, overwhelming it, and while it is in the process of biting hands, arms, legs, and feet, there are enough of them to overwhelm it with their bare hands to break its back. There are many human causalities involved with each wolf’s death.  But those who are successful, figure out after each occurrence which policies work best and soon the causality rate drops per each wolf’s death.  Eventually when vastly outnumbered, the wolves flee the door still left open on their rush in… Unless someone had the foresight to close it first and continue until all wolves were annihilated completely… Might as well eradicate them all while having the chance.  Silly to go through such work to have to worry about wolves tomorrow, and the next day, and the day after…

So after great sacrifice the survivors begin building back their lives.  Burying their dead, cutting off lost limbs, bandaging wounds, they look forward to rebuilding their lives… Most are utterly devastated by the losses they incurred… All their dreams; gone.  All their future; changed.

This is the reality of upsetting the apple cart before figuring out how one will live without apples…. This unchecked energy is what gave rise to Communism and Fascism.  Noble promises given of great futures to those revolutionizing. They get taken back almost as fast as the NHS promise after the Brexit vote. This is what seeds of all revolutions.

The bottom line to self destruction comes down to a line in a now famous Janis Joplin song… “Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose”… The cost of a loss has to be made apparent for a rational choice to actually be made on where we want this nation to go.

It’s like this:  You get told that if you invest in ACME enterprises, you could see 5% growth in your assets… that is what they tell you:   But you say:  “what were their figures over the past 5 years?” And if they respond with an:  “Oh, I don’t know, we don’t have those and even if we did, we couldn’t release it because of the IRS”, they say.

Your choice:  either to say:  “deal me in, damn the torpedoes”…. or say:  “I’m out, find another sucker.”

Those figures not given to you, would have told you the whole story…. Not having them, means you have to depend on their unwillingness to divulge them, as a sign of whether or not you want to trust them.

We have to follow John Oliver’s lead (among many) and illustrate not with similes but real scenarios what life will be like without those apples we were so used to grabbing at precisely those moments whenever we were starving…. Let’s properly start by calling those apples “our paychecks”… and rephrasing their sentiments being made thusly…..

Trump supporters are focused on upsetting our INCOME STREAMS and worrying about where to get income later…

Really.  Not a good plan.
