Filibuster for Appointees

Please.  Save  us your speeches on how Democracy was ruined with the full Senate’s vote today to allow a 51 majority vote for judicial  and political approvals.

Democracy wasn’t ruined today.  It was saved.  The Constitution is explicit when it states that it allows the Executive to pick his staff and to choose his judicial appointees at will, with the advice and consent of the Senate. The Senate has consistently failed to fulfill its obligation to consent, and thereby has put the Constitution in jeopardy.  Things can now progress as the founding fathers so desired….

The Constitution was saved. The enemies of the Constitution were beaten.  We must recognize, the true heroes are again the American People; for they are the ones responsible for establishing the composition of the Senate, thereby enabling it to accomplish this rather important milestone.

This is their victory.
