scores are everything
“If oh scores do not meet goals, nothing else we so matters because the school can be taken over.” TIME OUT! As I listened to an educational leader say this, I felt a drastic need to stop this mindset. For the past 3 years, our school removes students from their regular scheduled classes for testing intervention. This affect +1/3 students in a grade. They miss other classes at least twice a week, some kids 4-5 times, in order to drill test skills. Missing assignments impacts grades, understanding and even gpa. The test does not help the kid in next steps after school. A few parents have caught on and said no but few understand. Each year the staff has complained it is unfair to kids. Last year, someone mentioned at DOE and the response was, “that is ashame.” DCAS intervention last ls 6 weeks. From talking to friends in other schools, it is happening all over. Frustrating when poor choices made and your bosses make it clear you are to cooperate.

easily 1/3rd. The children are drones. the love of learning sapped right from their veins. I have bore witness to this malpractice. It is disgusting.
