Those of you listening to yesterday’s (July 14th) WDEL Rick Jensen hour hosted by Delaware Libertarian Tyler Nixon, heard an incoming call from a caller who tried to poo poo global warming.
There are also some out there who think the world was created in six times twenty-four hours.
Obviously the only people foolish enough to call in on a talk show to publicly argue that global warming is a non occurrence, even citing Mar’s ice cap reversal as evidence, are paid lobbyists for the carbon fuel industry. In that regards, the probable caller was either:

Last night, Dr. John Byrne gave a presentation about climate change at Wilmington’s Westminister Church and I hope he gets a chance to reach more Delawareans with his simple but telling charts and graphs.

heh, I wonder if any of your readers can confirm the voice of one of the above as the caller. That would be so funny if it weren’t so disgusting.
Markell is on for this afternoon.

Stupid is as stupid does………:-) What a laugh !
I had several telephone calls, people telling me I shoold have called in. It seems these “learned” men also promoted nuclear power. But you see “I dont do stupid ”

“As someone who lived under communism for most of his life, I feel obliged to say that I see the biggest threat to freedom, democracy, the market economy and prosperity now in ambitious environmentalism, not communism.” “Environmentalism is a religion” that accepts global warming on faith and seeks to exploit it to reshape the world and economic social order. Czech President Vaclav Klaus
I use to beleive in global warming, then I had my doubts, now after spending many years researching I’m convinced it’s a farce.
Global temperatures stopped rising after 1998 and have plummeted in the last two years by more than 0.5 degrees Celsius. The 2007-08 temperature drop was not predicted by global climate models. It was predictable by a decline in sunspot activity since 2000 and by a cyclical ocean-current phenomenon known as the Pacific Decadal Oscillation.
The Associated Press claims that the 10 warmest years on record have occurred since Bill Clinton’s second inaugural. But after it was discovered that NASA’s James Hansen, Gore’s chief scientific ally, had been fudging the numbers, the agency was forced to correct its data. The 10 warmest years turn out to be, in descending order: 1934, 1998, 1921, 2006, 1931, 1999, 1953, 1990, 1938 and 1939.
What is clear is that Dr. Hansen has had problems with the facts. Last Nov. 10 he announced from his scientific perch that October had been the hottest on record, and we were doomed. Except that it wasn’t true.
Scores of temperature records used in the computations from Russia and elsewhere were not based on October readings at all. Figures from the previous month had simply been carried over and repeated two months running
Since Al Gore released his feature-length cartoon “An Inconvenient Truth” in October 2006, the Earth has cooled about 0.74 F, almost the same amount that the U.N.’s climate panel, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, claims was gained in the entire 20th century.

I see Frieda failed at address my post, only to call anyone who dares show the lunacy of man made global warming as stupid.
As I mention in paragraph 4, the warments year of the last Century was 1934. This was before 80% of the man made CO was released into the atmosphere.

Frieda,
All of your claims are wrong and you know it or your an idiot.
Global temperatures peaked in 1998, a fact that contradicts the assertion that man’s continued pumping of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere is making the planet hotter. This was not predicted by the climate models that say we’re headed for a warm period.
Nor can anthropogenic global warming be explained when introduced into the argument is the fact that 1934, when far fewer carbon-spewing machines existed than we have today, is the hottest year on record.
Global warming alarmists invested heavily in convincing everyone that 1998 was the hottest year and 2006 the third warmest. After correcting for faulty data, NASA had to backtrack.
At the same time NASA made the correction, it also reported that six of the top 10 hottest years are from a period before 90% of the 20th century growth in carbon emissions occurred
Researchers at the U.S. National Snow and Ice Data Center admitted that “sensor drift” in the satellite monitors used to measure sea ice caused them to underestimate the extent of Arctic sea ice by 193,000 square miles. That’s a significant area roughly the size of California.
In a column titled “In 2008, a 100 Percent Chance of Alarm,” New York Times columnist John Tierney exposes the Chicken Littles for what they are — opportunists and alarmists who in this new year “will bring you image after frightening image of natural havoc linked to global warming.” Inconvenient truths and scientific fact will be ignored.
A case in point cited by Tierney was when Arctic sea ice last year hit the lowest level ever recorded by satellites. It was hardly a blip in Earth’s geological history, but Tierney noted how “it was big news and heralded as a sign that the whole planet was warming.”
Less dramatic and newsworthy was the announcement that the same satellites also recorded that the Antarctic sea ice had reached the highest level ever. But then, polar bears allegedly drowning and icebergs breaking away are good theater.
We’re told the Larsen B ice shelf on the western side of Antarctica is collapsing. It is warming and has been for decades. But it comprises just 2% of a continent that otherwise is cooling.
In the same week Gore received his Nobel Peace Prize, the respected scientific journal Nature published a paper you probably didn’t hear much about. It concluded that global warming had a minimal effect on hurricanes.
In fact, after Katrina, hurricane watchers have had trouble getting as far as the letter “K”.
“The last couple of years have humbled the seasonal hurricane forecasters,” says Max Mayfield, a former director of the National Hurricane Center in Miami. The 2007 season was the third calmest since 1966. In 2006 not a single hurricane made landfall in the U.S.
As for temperature, Tierney reports how British meteorologists made headlines predicting that the buildup of greenhouse gases would make 2007 the hottest year on record. After 2007 was actually lower than any year since 2001, the BBC still proclaimed: “2007 Data Confirms Warming Trend.”
That must be why in January 2007 some $1.42 billion worth of California produce was lost to a disastrous five-day freeze. A few months earlier Gov. Schwarzenegger signed the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 designed to, uh, help cool the climate.
In 2007, Australia experienced its coolest June ever. The city of Townsville underwent its longest period of continuously cold weather since 1941. Johannesburg, South Africa, had the first significant snowfall in a quarter-century.
But for greenies, it doesn’t matter what the weather actually is or what the data actually show. It’s all caused by global warming. As Canadian Greenpeace rep Steven Guilbeault explained in 2005: “Global warming can mean colder; it can mean drier; it can mean wetter; that’s what we’re dealing with.”
Let me make this as simple as possible. Greenhouse gases makes up 2% of our total atmosphere. Of that 2%, 3.62% is CO2 and of that 3.4% is caused by man, yes only 3.4% of all CO2 is man made, the rest is made by nature. Man made CO2 makes up .000024% of the atmosphere.

Kavips,
Did you even bother to check the references on the web page you supplied ??
It states at the bottom that the figures are based on the IPCC study that NASA admits that James Hansen “fudged”. (The 10 warmest years turn out to be, in descending order: 1934, 1998, 1921, 2006, 1931, 1999, 1953, 1990, 1938 and 1939.)
Do you just find some web page that has some numbers on it and copy and paste ??
You have adopted the religion of anthropogenic global warming however science does march on and experimental evidence overrules hypotheses even if embodied in expensive computer simulations.
“Scientists across the globe are catching on — global warming is not real science. There is a sucker born every minute who believes in it, and Al Gore is playing the role of P.T. Barnum,” Chemist Max S. Strozier declared on December 22, 2009 in an email to the minority staff of the Environment and Public Works Committee. Strozier spent 26 years specializing in chemical laboratory analysis, served as a U.S. Department of Defense aerospace chemist and is a former lecturer at San Jose State University and the University of Texas.

I’m shocked anyone is still arguing against global warming. But as I said before, there are those who discount all evidence of dinosaurs because they don’t fit in with the 6 day creation theory.
First I must laugh hysterically at your chiding of my pasting the accepted data on global warming. For you do the same with your so called expert… Especially since the email you so religiously quote, will actually be sent 5 months into the future: December 22, 2009 to a “minority” hearing, (which reads a hearing consisting only of LOSER republicans), from a low grade professor from San Jose State, who worked as a chemist in the defense department? Surely you jest to offer such a source? You could not have dealt a stronger blow against the debunkers of global warming if you had actually tried….
The Headline of the link YOU posted in the comment above says more than 700 scientists now debunk global warming. O h, h, h, h, h, 700….. Then we MUST assume it to be false then…….
At $15,000 a bribe, ( the amount of the grant given to our own Delaware University’s debunker of global warming by various energy companies) one could buy 700 scientists for around 10 and a half million dollars: The price of a normal ad buy on TV.
So the fact that 700 people step up to debunk global warming is meaningless, except perhaps to those people paying them.
There are approximately 68 scientific articles debunking the impact of man on global warming. It appears that there are at least 4617 articles that reinforce the fact that global warming is being propagated by man’s use of carbon fuels…
In other words, 98.5% of the scientific community currently supports the opinion not held by you. You might think that meaningless, but as a scientist myself, I find it hard to discount 98.5 % of my peers all independently reaching the same conclusion, as an anomaly.
I would find it equally as hard to believe that dinosaurs never existed……
Bottom line, your argument doesn’t seem to have any foundation upon which to stand upon…

And the discrepancy touted about the changing order of numbers is based on evidence from petroleum funded global warming debunking think tank.
The evidence was based on numbers from Russia. We are relying on hand written reports during Stalin’s era to call global warming into question.
I provided it here, just in case anyone wanted to know the source of that data.

So they’re up to 31,478 now?
Considering just those scientists in the life and earth sciences, (480,000) we are speaking of 6.6% of the learned community. Of course included in that 31,478 would be the number
Which would not even include all 88,000 members of the society of Petroleum engineers.

Frieda, like everything else you got that quote wrong, its “If you argue with a fool long enough eventually people don’t know who is the fool.”
Kavips,
No one is arguing about global warming, the arguement is over man made global warming or mans production of CO2 having any impact.
I made my points, you ignored the fact that the warmest year on record is 1934 as verified by NASA.
I leave you with some George Carlin
