This is post number 2000.
The only real significance is it is 150 posts more than where Tommywonk stopped exactly one year and fifteen days ago…
If some future historian looks back, I can only guess they may kindly make some note of the quality of thought that underlies these efforts, but my guess, is no one will ever notice…
Irregardless, as long as the urge to put thoughts down for others continues, we will go on. As usual, with no goal, no direction, and no ulterior motive. Probably upon reflection, my biggest surprise, right here, right now … is that I still enjoy it so much, and can’t wait to jot my thoughts down, click the button, and send them off to where ever cyberspace and the vast internet ocean, lets them drift….
For each of you who have become regular over the years, … thank you friend…
At What Price, Loyality?

This is going to my hard core Republican friends. Why are you still supporting Romney?
1) You know he is not going to win.
2) You know as the election heats up, his Bain Capital experience will make Republicans untouchable for decades.
3) You can’t pin down where Romney stands on anything.
4) He tied his dog to a car.
5) He stands with black people and says “Who let the dogs out, woof, woof.”
Most of you are telling me, “I certainly can’t vote for Obama. I guess I’m not voting for President this time.”
Let’s say, just for argument sakes there was a presidential candidate out there who says to have good government you need: …………………
1. Become reality driven. Don’t kid yourself or others.
Find out what’s what and base your decisions and actions
on that.
2. Always be honest and tell the truth. It’s extremely
difficult to do any damage to anybody when you are
willing to tell the truth–regardless of the
consequences.
3. Always do what’s right and fair. Remember, the more
you actually accomplish, the louder your critics become.
You’ve got to learn to ignore your critics. You’ve got to
continue to do what you think is right. You’ve got to
maintain your integrity.
4. Determine your goal, develop a plan to reach that
goal, and then act. Don’t procrastinate.
5. Make sure everybody who ought to know what you’re
doing knows what you’re doing. Communicate.
6. Don’t hesitate to deliver bad news. There is always
time to salvage things. There is always time to fix
things. Henry Kissinger said that anything that can be
revealed eventually should be revealed immediately.
7. Last, be willing to do whatever it takes to get your
job done. If you’ve got a job that you don’t love enough
to do what it takes to get your job done, then quit and
get one that you do love, and then make a difference.
Honesty. Integrity. Principal.
Sounds good so far. Let us say just for argument, he had chief executive experience. Let us say just or argument that he once ran a state, one of the fifty in this union. Let us say while governor, this is what he did…..
During his tenure, New Mexico experienced the longest period without a tax-increase in the state’s entire history.
1) He cut the rate of government growth in half,
2) Left the New Mexico state government with a budget surplus and 1000 fewer employees (without firing anyone),
3) Privatized half of the prisons in the state,
4) Brought a state-wide school voucher system to New Mexico.
5) Vetoed 750 bills (more than all the vetoes of the other 49 Governors in the country at that time, combined) with only 2 overrides, earning him the nickname Gary “Veto” Johnson.
6) In 1999, Johnson became the highest-ranking elected official in the United States to advocate the legalization of drugs.
7) Shifted Medicaid to managed care.
ISN’T THAT WHAT YOU WANT? ISN’T THAT WHAT WE NEED?
Can you not think of a better way to show your lack of enthusiasm over a wealthy capitalist buying his way to the top of your ticket, by voting for someone who has character, who does what you’ve always wanted, a doer, not a talker?
And to think…. you were simply just going to throw your vote away.
His name is Gary Johnson. He is the new party’s candidate for President.
Remember Republicans. It is your values that are important. If your party has given up and moved on from your values, don’t think you have to be loyal to the word…. “Republican”… What you have to be loyal too, is yourself. Always. Never lie to yourself.
You don’t need to waste your vote on Romney. You probably need to find more about this guy, Gary Johnson, and then throw your support behind him.
Don’t worry it is not one of the two parties on whose ticket he is running. Remember, at one point in time, the Republican Party was a once a third party too. One that went mainstream because of its core values, its principles resonated with everyday American People.

I’m trying to put all your ideas together into one package. So, let me get this right… All you are asking is for, is a country where:
1) There is no universal healthcare.
2) Few entitlement programs.
3) Low Flat Tax System.
4) Faith based Government.
5) A deep reverence for God.
6) Extremely strict rules against abortion.
7) Marriage has already been strictly defined as between man and woman.
8) Homosexuality is a sin, and illegal.
9) Dress Codes are strictly enforced.
10) Tattoos, piercings, baggy pants, are banned.
11) Has the Death Penalty which they aren’t shy about using.
12) Strong private school system with religious focus.
13) Widespread dependency on oil and natural gas drilling.
14) Growing nuclear program
15) Nonexistent environmental nuisances
16) Culture that promotes family and stereotyped roles for men and women.
I’ve endeavored to put all your values on one page. I share your frustration because today, ever since 2008, it seems like America is moving further and further away from these values.
But you don’t have to be frustrated anymore. I have looked far and wide and have discovered a place already in existence that has those values in place, and more. If you sorely long for those values above, it is sincerely a place where you and your family would be very happy.
It is Iran.
You don’t have to pay me. I don’t need any commission. Just glad to help a fellow Delawarean out…. No problem.
Republicans And Cancer

When your mom gets cancer. You don’t hate your mom. You hate the cancer.
Likewise, it was hard not to like the German people during WWII. It was easy to hate the fact that they were trying to kill you.
And so it is with Republicans… 99% of them are just like us. They too love their country; they too want it fixed; they too are angry, frustrated that events are not moving at fast-forward..
They are wonderful people; who also, happen to be Americans. We can never forget that if we were together in a bar with beer, wine, and spirits flowing like milk and honey, we’d all have a “gay ole time” (Flintstones’ reference) …
We want the same things, and we should be working together on fixing America… but we can’t….
Because of the Cancer…..
That cancer is not necessarily the Republican Party, but it is, the force that IS currently manipulating the Republican Party. That cancer is not a single person in the Republican hierarchy… It is instead that revision of the old cancer, that originally was against recognizing new states into the Federal Union. It is that old cancer that kept slavery legal for thirty years beyond when it should have been eliminated. It is the revision of that old cancer that kept blacks as second class citizens across the South. It is the cancer that fought against giving the Negro their Civil Rights. It is that cancer that denied Tobacco caused cancer. It was the same cancer that encouraged the killing of 4 students at Kent State, to teach those dirty hippies who listened to the Doors, a lesson they wouldn’t forget. It is the same cancer that denied the process of evolution, denied birth control, denied NPR, and ran rampant against all evidence of global warming…… Each time; they were wrong.
It is the same cancer that blew up a building in Oklahoma City.
It is the same cancer that fired bullets into working men and women who were refusing to work, until they got a raise…
It is the same cancer that took out Gabby Gifford……
With all these offenses, it is easy to point your finger and say, “Damn you Republicans..” It is in fact, way too easy.
But is not the people voting Republican who are to blame… They, like the German people, are bystanders. often gaping wide eyed when shown the truth, of what their support for the force of evil did to innocent men and women.
It is easy to turn all Republicans into demons if you don’t talk to them. But listening to them talk, (and we’re talking real people here, not their David Korsch’s) it is very easy to find common ground.
That common ground is this: sure, you tax the wealthy, and we’ll cut spending and together we’ll have high revenue with less expense, and be out of this mess in no time….
This is what every card carrying Republican is telling me, that is of course, if they don’t subscribe to the “cult-like” Republican meetings…. They say: “tax the fuckin’ wealthy; it won’t affect me; Just make sure that extra money is not wasted but is used to pay down the waste we already spent!”
Democrats have already offered to cut Medicare, Social Security, Defense Spending, all those things dear to their heart… So the problem isn’t them.
The problem is with the Republicans, who have balked on the tax issue, especially when it comes to raising taxes on millionaires… yet they have no qualms raising taxes on the middle class and poor. Republicans have shut down the Federal Government four times this year. Four times! They did so each time because the obvious was about to happen. WE were about to get a consensus among the rational members of both parties on how we were going to raise taxes and cut expenses (at the same time) which would bring us into line.
They pulled out of negotiations and said: we will not raise taxes one penny… and also, we will not do any business either in the House or Senate, until the Bush Tax Cuts are permanent.
And that,in one sentence, is why nothing gets done.
It’s as if a terrorist broke into your workplace. Under gunpoint he straps C4 to several of your firm’s employees, and starts firing his gun out the window to get everyone’s attention….
Rule Number 1: You don’t negotiate with terrorists.
That is the problem Obama and the rest of America is faced with, raising this question:
Do we attack (shut down government) and later clean up, or do we negotiate something we can both live with?
What do you do with cancer… Leave it? live with it?
There’s your answer to today’s political gridlock.
Removing all Democrats will be like having the Brits flee France across the channel, leaving the Nazi’s to run France without contention….
Removing all Republicans will be like marching triumphantly into Berlin.
It is pretty obvious who is the cancer and who is not. WE, THE PEOPLE, can’t let it linger any longer. The cancer must go, preferably without killing its host in the process…
Ya Think? Continued.

I’m glad Unstable Isotope posted the police chief’s take on Wisconsin Governor’s Scott Walker planting Egyptian thugs into the protests surrounding the Madison capital building.
And the fact that it was ignored by all media for 24 hours and now is only being given some coverage by MSNBC, thanks in part to the vision of reality given by the man who made me typing this possible; Bill Gates.
What got lost in all the outrage, was the simple question: Is this really democracy when you have to plant thugs into a peaceful protest because your side is wrong?
Here’s how Democracy was explained to me. Each side argues its position. The audience listens to the debate and forms an opinion. The audience then votes, and with good probability, the result should be the one making the most sense.
It is extremely unfortunate, that Republicans have taken Democracy to a point, where IT IS NECESSARY TO HIDE THE FACTS from the America people.
It is America’s Reichstag moment.
The facts are, a lot of Americans are against this bill. They are not special interests; they are firefighters, policemen, plumbers, carpenters, actors, and anyone and everyone who works for a living.
Trying to kill, maim, create havoc, so that in responding back to getting hit in the head, those heroes seem like madmen too, is not what our founding fathers had in mind… In fact, it was against such people that our founding fathers set up our Constitution to protect our nation from.
Ladies and Gentlemen: These Republicans are very sick individuals. This is not how our country is supposed to act.
This is the behavior of a party that knows it is a minority. These are cultist personalities, who know a fluke has put them into a seat of power, and they will Jonestown the world in their brief time, to make their point. That point being they are stupid, ignorant, self-centered, disruptive, arrogant, ugly, prostate-crazed, balding, incontinent, and very rich men.
I wish I could be kinder, but this is America, not Egypt. We elect Democrats and Republicans, not strongmen for 30 years…..
This is what happens when you give people who can’t control themselves, too much money.
This is one more reason, why they need to be restrained….
Continuing the tax breaks, giving them even more money, is the wrong approach… You want changes, raise their top marginal rate not up to 97% like it was during WWII, but just even to 40% like it was during Clinton’s term… That is how you will take back America and restore the rights to America’s middle class. That is how you create those millions of jobs that opened up from 1946 all the way up to 1974.
It’s simple math. It’s preserved in our historical record. America does really well when its top marginal tax rate goes above the 40% marker.
Really well..
It is Quite Obvious

Republicans are going loco, because they are getting proved over and over and over again, that for 8 years, they were wrong.
They are having difficulty dealing with the truth that they, and only they, perhaps ruined this country forever… They deregulated Wall Street; it crashed. They cut taxes; it bankrupted America. They fought two wars and didn’t put any costs on the books, instead they charged our children and grandchildren . They tried in-your-face diplomacy; it bankrupted America and made us look like goats. They deregulated the FDA so now poisons can creep into our food chain and no one even knows it…
It’s a good thing they didn’t get a chance to ruin Social Security…
Now, … that health care is in effect, they KNOW they have lost.. and they can’t deal with it…
Their thought process goes like this… I will do rash, crazy acts so no one remembers that our party destroyed America… and that it took a black man to save it…
Well, in their insular world that might work. But the rest of us have 401K’s half of what they should be because of the policies of Republicans. Those of us in danger of losing a house, know that Republican, not Socialists, are the evil that brought this upon us… Those of us out of work, who can’t find a job to save our lives, know that Republican’s caused the crash … not socialists. Republicans are the Nazi party of America, if one compares the damage done between the two countries those parties represent…
Republicans can hem and haw and crash their cars into Obama stickers or threaten Washington Politicians with shootings… but it doesn’t change the fact that they and their politicians are the ones who messed things up…
In fact, they messed it up so bad….. it just might take a little Socialism to put things back on the right track.
And that is not even comparing the end of the Bush era to that of the Clinton era, where every category did better over 8 years of Democratic rule…
So if you hear someone going off on Obama being a Socialist, don’t even bother to argue with them… They know the facts and their whole argument is to cover up those very facts they know…
Since they know the facts, and you know the facts… you are both in on the joke... So laugh your ass off at them… At what ever they say, just guffaw…. And get your friends to help you… Because the only way to turn a sad situation into a good one… is to laugh at them….
After all, they ARE fools….

I know a women who once when the doors of her train opened accidentally, got up and pulled her husband off the train… In doing so, she stepped out on the platform in Vienna, and thereby escaped Communist suppression for the rest of her life…
Four years ago, she had polyps in her breast. She immediately underwent radiation and beat it. Until now.
If today’s experimental treatment does not work, she will undergo a mastectomy next month and reconstructive surgery. It will be a shame for she has some of the most beautiful breasts … They’re truly a natural wonder.
But the point I’m making is…. when dealing with cancer… you nip it in the bud… You don’t play around.. You take necessary corrective action…
There is a deadly cancer in Delaware’s blogworld today. You may have read something about the Caesar Rodney Institute. It too is a cancer; it too needs excised before it spreads its spores and contaminates our General Assembly and local idiots like Ron Williams…
WTF is a Caesar Rodney Institute?
The answer is two words: Garrett Wozniak…
WTF is Garrett Wozniak?
Hmmmmmmm… let’s take a look together… shall we?
If we pull up Linkaden’s page, we see his prime qualification is:
Campaign Manager at Citizens for Copeland
Oh.. so that’s what makes him an expert in all things political… But wait… who is that guy Copeland? Isn’t he that guy that just disappeared after last November 4th?.. Vanished into thin air? …
Sounds familiar… Hmmmm… Copeland…..Copeland…. Copeland…. Where have we heard that name before… hmmph..
Wasn’t he that silly politician who insisted we should put oil rigs off of Rehoboth Beach? No couldn’t be, for no one here in this state is that stupid… Oil Rigs off Delaware’s number one tourist site… Oil rigs off Delaware’s premier money making site? Never? There’s a no brainer…
Wasn’t he that silly politician who stalled the wind deal so Delmarva Power could charge us 60% more for our electricity? Wasn’t he that person whose approval was required before our state paid out $35,000 so Richard Speck could lynch Arnette McRae on the public stand; she of course being the one in charge of Delaware’s Public Service Commission, and therefore the one responsible for running the best open aired RPS this state has ever seen? So open, in fact, that Delmarva Power’s lies were exposed for all to see for what they truly were? lies?
Wasn’t he that silly politician who said he founded the Challenge Program, only to have Tommywonk say… uhn uhn… wasn’t so?
Wasn’t he that silly republican who begged Bill Lee to run for governor and then handed out flyers telling Wilmington blacks to vote for Obama, Markell, and himself? Selling his own friend down the river? lol.
Wasn’t he that silly republican who spent lavishly at Wilmington’s black churches thinking their votes could be so readily and cheaply bought? lol
Wasn’t he that silly republican who gave his support to Thurman Adams, delivering to him in January 2007, the entire Republican caucus in his favor, and only after that deed was done, did he begin championing the cause of open government once he knew it could never happen? lol
Wasn’t he that silly republican who believes even when proven wrong, that resolute determination can undermine actual facts proving the contrary? lol
If that’s the same Copeland, that Garrett Wozniak supported, then it is hard to take him seriously… is it not? Oil rigs off of Rehoboth… What a card… lol
So what is it that makes Garrett Wozniak an expert? What is it that gives him credibility? Shall we take a look together?
* Campaign Manager at Citizens for Copeland
* Policy Director at Delaware House of ‘Representatives
* Executive Director at Delaware Republican Party
Obviously his view are a little one sided.. Results are thus. These are facts now… not some policy dribble… Hard solid evidence…
As campaign chair, he barely mustered 38% of the vote for his candidate…. as my little kindergardener often says of his elders:FAIL
Even outspokenly gay John Brady received 41% of the vote… Wozniak’s candidate couldn’t even muster that amount…
Policy Director of Delaware’s Majority Party at Delaware’s House of Representatives. That means Republican caucus of the House of Representatives… As policy director of the majority party, nothing of importance was passed in two years that could get by the Senate. As they say at that other state blog: FAIL Consequently, voters rejected Republican candidates in November giving Democrats a plurality, (until Thornberg’s friends threw out Paradee’s win).
Executive Director of Delaware’s Republican Party: As echoed across the tabulations of every voting booth across this state: FAIL
They lost by the largest margin ever in recent memory of anyone living or dead… Sort of like trusting the manager of the Cincinnati Reds to write a book outlining the strategy of winning a baseball game… lol
So we see under the profile of Gary Wozniak, what he is familiar with:
Extensive experience in all aspects of project management including supervising, fundraising, developing marketing strategies, organization/time management and researching federal and state laws.
I’ll let you be the judge of whether he was successful at any of these?
And he sums up his credentials here…
Thorough knowledge of fundraising techniques, managing donor relations, and database management
Was this their most successful year ever? The results are in: you be the judge.
He goes on…
Able to work independently and collaboratively on multiple projects
• Have established positive relationships with most members of Delaware’s General Assembly regardless of political affiliation
Again was this their most successful year ever? The results are in? You be the judge.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT/FUNDRAISING EXPERIENCE
• Responsible for statewide communications, fundraising, strategy, policy research, and general management/operations
• Successfully raised between $700,000 in a six month period
• Managed a budget of $800,000
• Supervised a staff of three employees and coordinated over 100 volunteers
• Created and implemented a district operations plan to allow legislators to more effectively and efficiently communicate with constituents
• Coordinated local campaigns, consulting on policy, budgeting, and strategy for over 30 candidates
• Served as Operations Manager responsible for budgeting, directing all fundraising efforts, developing finance plans and initiatives to grow the organization, and strategic planning
• Drafted press releases, legislation, and speeches; responded to constituent concerns; and planned events in a highly competitive non-partisan internship
• Developed comprehensive plans for municipalities
So how’s he doin’ now?
So why should we even listen to Garrett Wosniak and the Caesar Rodney Institute’s ramblings?

Because since high school graduation, his entire adulthood has only lived through the Republican era… He was only a baby of ten when Clinton cleaned up the former Republican’s mess and barely 18 when he turned it over to the new generation of Republicanism to squander it away to nothingness…
He can’t help it… He simply not old enough to know any better…..
But wait a second… His entire age group overwhelmingly voted for change. Most of his age group does indeed know better…. What’s up with that?
Below are some wise words which should be applied to the Ceasar Rodney Institute the next time they meddle with state policy. For instead of being a thoughtful, introspective, outreaching organization that was dedicated to examining complicated issues to help educate the rest of us, we have a close-minded attempt by a failing philosophy to masquerade a voter rejected policy as intellectual fact….

Psychology of Campaign Signs…

It is that time again. Everywhere one turns one sees someone’s sign… Candidates are hoping we will remember their name just long enough to push the “x” for them when we step into the voting booth… Most of us, however, see the signs as clutter….” Oh, I hate those things” we’ll hear our friends say if we driving in their company …. By the time November rolls around, there will be several letters in the News Journal, complaining about excessive signage. Again before November rolls around, there will be finger pointing among several candidates playing with each others signs……
It happens every season… But if one knows how to read them, they can be quite fascinating…sort of like going on a date with Paris Hilton, or Brittney Spears. For signs, if you really look at them, can tell us a lot about a candidate…
I know… you are thinking “that is silly”.. But it is not if you think about it, …. . For how many of you choose to wear a certain “look”? We all know that what type of dog a person has, tells us much about them…..
Why? Because the person putting his name out there, chooses the sign…. Each sign represents the candidate, and much fussing is spent over how to make it appear… What colors, what style, what background, etc… Each of those choices symbolizes something for the candidate… Campaigns can be won or lost, because voters love, or hate, a sign…. For small time candidates, they are the first wave of getting ones name out. Only later, when calling on social clubs to speak at, will you get in, once they recognize your name….. that is of course, provided the candidate has a good sign…..
The key elements to look for are clutter, style, color, and symbolism… Between all four, one can grasp much from a simple sign as he is passing…
So let’s begin…. For starters we will take a tour through Chateau country, which is the Senate 4th District, highly favored by Republicans… (apologies to Dr. Katz, his did not survive) As you may notice, the formatting does not fit on the page…I left it that way on purpose. To access the picture, right click on the picture, then click View Picture.. You will be able to zoom it at that point… On some the zoom will be needed to demonstrate some features, and that is why the initial format looks kind of odd… Now you know…

First off, Rich Abbot. We see he has done this before. We have his name, his expected office, and he is advertising that he is a Republican..Probably a good idea in a district that is mostly Republicans. His colors, green and black, are the color of money, which is not a bad choice up in Chateau Country…

Next we see Dee Durham. She is new, and tried the rookie approach of putting everything she could need on her sign. We see this and say, oh first time politician.. Secondly, her sign is hard to read… The message is hard to follow… The colors, lime green and lapis blue, show us she wants to be jarringly different, and wants to stand out as such in a crowd… No party affiliation is on her sign; she’s a Democrat in a Republican district. Her strategy is getting you to know her first, liking her, then finding out too late that she’s a democrat…. She may be a clear thinker, but one would never know it from her sign. Someone should have told her that when judging a design, she should close her eyes, open and shut them as fast as she can, then go only with what she can remember… The is the amount of time a motorist will have to view your sign…

Fleming has a clear theme. White is his principal color. Like a bride wearing white, he see’s himself as pure. He is saying I’m not a “red” Republican.. (They seem to be out of style this year…for some reason..) His sign is crisp and clean, with only his name, aspirant office, and a slogan he want you to remember… “New Republican Leadership…” He is going with the bride’s tabla rasa theme, hoping this district will jump to the idea of a fresh start…

Clatworthy is putting his family out there, literally… We see it here, blown up, and it looks good. The sign has the party emblem, his name, and his aspirant office. The main feature is his family… This is quite appropriate, for if it were not for his family name… he would not be running. But when driving by, the details are lost…Perform the rapid blink test and you will see what I mean… No one says “ah, how cute” when driving by; more like “oh”… Nothing against the family. It IS a beautiful picture… but since all one will see is a blurry group when driving by, (it could be anyone’s family) the picture is a waste of money and detracts from the message… It’s a common mistake made by new candidates… They try too hard to design the perfect sign in a static environment, without realizing most people are traveling 35 mph or faster…and will see none of the details at all… Such a mistake can be construed by motorists as unclear thinking. Again, its his first time in office.
So based on the signage, Rich Abbot, with his color of money signs, will probably pull the district. Up there they put money first, country second….. And Rich knows it, too. After all, he’s Rich.
That in a handy guide form, is why signs are fun…. True, they are a diversion, but like guessing a horse’s handicap by a previous race, you can often base a candidate’s chances, by just how well their sign is likely to go over…..
Ok, now its your turn…. We’ll jump to Newark…. 6th Senate District.

Again we have a first timer….notice the odd Netherlands flag color arrangement, What else is seen? Is it clear, concise? Is there too much information? Why is it necessary to put which district one is running for? When one votes, only those in that district, are on the ballot….Try the blink test, can you read the slogan? Again, being new, planning and staring at the sign, he forgot that only a hundredth of a second, was all anyone would ever see of it…..

This sign stresses classical elegance all the way. The white backdrop, again like a brides gown, symbolizes a fresh start. Notice the font chosen was Roman… The sign is crisp, clean, with only the name, aspirant office, and party affiliation… Only those extremely proud of their party, ever put their party on their signs… This sign shows a classic clear thinker, one who has his act together.
So who is your prediction in the 6th Senate Race on Tuesday? Make a prediction and see how you do…
If you look at signs a lot, you can see trends that stretch from district to district. candidate to candidate… The next batch or grouping can be themed…. as the outsider trying to break in……

The last one is trying to open the door with her pretty face…
The next grouping all have the state colors as their motif… One can interpret that these are local minded individuals. There are those that aspire to go to Washington and change the world… Red, White, and Blue are their colors. There are others, who are content to stay home, and change the world they live in, day by day…making their world, and their neighbors, a little bit better… These are the workhorses…

Then there is this odd color combination that was started by Mike Castle.. I always interpreted it as a symbol of Delaware, in two parts divided by the Canal. With the colors of Grass and Water, these signe have ironically taken on a new meaning this year… More like “Oh, S$%, I’m in F@@$%^% Trouble”!

And this color combination seems to run with the “entitlement crowd.” You will recognize them also as Hillary’s colors…..

And then there are the exceptions which as they say…..prove the rule….

Notice the sky blue background, and puffy cloud white, obviously inspired by a pilot…. Notice the confidence in the rather large name, with the aspirant position being the only other thing to catch the eye.. This is a very effective sign, standing out from the rest, mostly from its difference in color. It passes the blink test very well. This result will surprise people.
For the most unusual sign, within an unusual category, the exception that proves the rule… I have not idea what this is about….

Perhaps he likes the Minnesota Vikings? No, actually, he is a member of the Lions Club.. those are his lion’s club colors…. It is…quite different…
Finally, a picture that I love and cherish…. I’ve laughed out loud for weeks as I drove by… but taking the picture to get the perfect angle, required standing in the road way…. a little too dangerous in this location…. To have serendipity put all these pieces together, it must be an omen of great importance…. Without further ado….

Exit ’08…. Copeland, Lee, and Castle……
It can only be a sign unto us……..
Tommy Returns From Ohio

(Editor’s Note: I wrote this lighthearted piece because Tommy put the intro of “My City Was Gone” in my head for days due to a discussion at the bottom of his post here….” This is to pay him back…..)
I’m just disappointed that we were unable to obtain any video footage of him walking Gibb’s brother’s style through Akron, in blue jeans and a denim jacket. Such a video could then be shown traditionally after the third round at every Drinking Liberally, (of course everyone could sing along), as well as possibly breaking into prime time upon the giant overhead screen at the Denver Democratic convention…..
Lurking below, is the perfect background music to match the footage of a walk he took thorough Downtown Akron……..
