When push came to shove… they were all the same party. There was no “if you win, I lose” relationship, so when push came to shove, they could talk to each other, negotiate, compromise, and get things done……

That’s the beauty of a the American single party system… Eventually as our past history prescribes, they would split off into a new party… hopefully one less inclined to be “extremely selfish”

A main worry is the strength of leadership that a free society, a democracy, needs. If we can’t get that through elections, if we can’t get politicians that can work together towards the many enormous problems we are facing, things will get worse. It’s like watching an old barn crumble. One day some boards are flapping in the wind, then there’s a hole. The last time you drove past, some support has rotten out, a wall leans, the roof tilts downward. When was the best time to repair the damage?

In many cases. what worked before, won’t work now (take dependency upon fossil fuels for example.) We need to vote for leadership open to facing difficult and costly problems. Leadership that gets the people actually – SOLVING the cause of problems. It will take sound government leadership, not less government.

Your idea of electing all democrats, is a good one. People to one’s right and to one’s left, isn’t a balance – it’s a recipe for stalemate, politicians staring each other down, doing nothing. Doing nothing is doing something – making a worse choice.

And we’ve been frozen in inaction for too long. We need a plan that gets converted to ACTION, but it’s more like a thousand plans – millions of actions. And implementing plans takes money – the other monkey wrench, since we’re trillions in debt. The money for corrective action is available, as CO2 is going up the smoke stack without a price tag on it, until the results of climate change hits the people’s wallets as rising sea level costs, salt water infiltration, heatwaves, deaths, droughts, crop failures, rising food costs, extreme storms, forest fires, etc. Rmoney and Ryan have said, they won’t tax or regulate CO2. CO2 is merely something people exhale Rmoney’s spokeswomen (former denier, lobbyist) says. Of course they know what CO2 really does. CO2 is the by-product, the end result of the product who’s free release is earning billions of dollars every year – for polluters. And a most hazardous, costly by-product when above natural levels in the atmosphere, wreck havoc on the planet’s climate.

Big oil, big coal, even foreign interests can spend billions on the denial campaign, but it’s still the people who need to turn out to vote. They need to know, there is basically a choice. 1) Reducing CO2 levels to life sustaining levels or 2) willfully choosing death of a livable planet. Procrastination only makes the task more difficult, more costly, until there no longer is a choice. And guess what choice climate denying, tea party supporting, millionaire, billionaire interests have already made regarding America’s future?
Option 2) above.

As usual, republican politicians say the opposite of what is true. Voters need to realize who’s really behind the tea party movement, who’s lying to them, why, and how it will negatively affect everything they say they hold important, such as life, family, country, freedom, etc. Voters have one sane option, voting democratic.
