Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize today.
Republican’s are outraged. What did he do that was so great they exclaim?
They may be right. I was surprised as well. My first thoughts were I don’t remember hearing anything spectacular he had done….
But the answer is embedded in the actual transcript…
So essentially all he did was say “let’s talk about it”. Nothing really. It is just that compared to the vileness, the odiousness, the hatred, the bombastic-ism, the ego preening, the recalcitrance of the previous REPUBLICAN administration, just saying “let’s talk” is an earth shattering proposition.
He won the prize not because he was so good… but because: THE REPUBLICANS WERE SO BAD. Horrible really, a national disgrace.. America is paying the price for it today.
This metaphor best describes it.
It’s as if one drained a sewer and let nature take over. Those who stood at its lip and quaffed at the odious stench a year ago, returned one year later to see a few blades of grass and flowers sprouting… noticed a tremendous difference… And to anyone living near that sewer, the difference is cataclysmic… No smell, no putridness, no gagging, all traits experienced under the Republican leadership…
So some credit is due. Obama drained the sewer. But it needs to be remembered, his winning of the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009, is not a measure of how he was so great.. he is normal… It reflects instead, that the Republican Party is so vile, stinky, with a putrid smell that makes one vomit, that any improvement, however slight, is welcome..
The reputation of the demised Republican party has been forever demeaned. In fact, if I had ethics of the Republican leadership (which I don’t), I would race to establish a business getting rich by offering parking and a towing service at the base of every bridge, just so Republican’s could hurry to throw themselves off them….

So how do you tell a good Republican:
He prefaces his comments with: “I’m happy that an American won the Nobel Peace Prize….” (Because after all, having the reputation of winning such a prize is very good for America by improving our bargaining clout vis a vis with other nations.)
If that Republican doesn’t preface his comments thusly, Deldem should shoot ‘em. (snark)

[...] Christine! That is precisely why the award was made: his predecessor. I will let Kavips explain: He won the prize not because he was so good… but because: THE REPUBLICANS WERE SO BAD. [...]

“The committee said it was seeking to encourage Mr Obama’s ideals rather than recognise concrete results.”
