Next door in Cecil County, at an Elementary School near the large Wal*mart, a controversy is brewing this weekend…

A music teacher called out a first grader as a “stupid” faggot. Investigation shows this is not a one time occurrence. A fifth grader verified he always says that in class… Always.
A second grader offered that he hears it at least several times a day from this music teacher…

Obviously the first grader is not a faggot. He doesn’t even know what a “faggot” is…

Equally obvious, is that the teacher in question, has a vendetta against people he considers to be such. And this music teacher is using his captive audience to attempt to instill in them a hatred that should not be force-fed so young of an audience…

I’m interested in the details underlying this..

We have freedom of speech. We also have precedents where the law has prevented us from saying certain things… I’m wondering if this term fits that definition of a word that should not be said… at least to anyone under 12… at least not by a publicly funded official who receives his income from our taxes…

In my lifetime, society has decided and quite effectively banned the “n” word. It used to be far more prevalent, but as more and more humans became educated as to it’s intention, which is not to describe but to incite, society has dropped that word and refuses to even listen when it gets mentioned.

The same will probably occur of the the word in question thrown demonstratively at a first grader. It does not describe. (what? a bundle of sticks?) It is used to incite. It says more about the speaker than it does the object of that speaker’s sentence.

In a room of all heterosexual people, (7 and under) should that name be use in derogatory fashion? The speaker thinks so. He feels he can get away with saying it with impunity. His perception is about to change…

Unless he reads this blog, he has no idea what is about to hit him next Monday…

Firing him could be one answer, but Cecil County needs teachers… Therefore I would propose giving him only these two options. Either he must quit, … or be only allowed to continue in that position, if he agrees to dress up in woman’s clothing and teach for one week dressed to the hilt as a cross dresser.

It would effective nip all talk of very young children being faggots for a very long time.

Humans are flawed, but our love, forgiveness, and humor, always gets ourselves back on the right track with a little push…

This action needs a consequence. Firing would be too easy. Better to set an example that really opens people’s eyes as to the silliness of judging someone else by standards less than you judge yourself…..

This is a good thing. Apparently extensive lobbying has not destroyed the voice of the people.. Unless you receive daily threats by email from the Republican Party leadership, if you live in this country, between 70% and 80% of you are for the public option to be included.

The plan is a compromise along the lines of that Connecticut Compromise which established two houses of legislature: one dedicated to population…, the other giving every state an equal voice.

This option will give a public option, but allow some states to opt out.

That may seem counterproductive to some… For limiting the size of the pool of payees drives up the costs… Expanding the pool drives costs down…

But, if a state such as Senator Selby’s Alabama opts out, they will suddenly see their economy fail as firms leave to other states that do offer the public option.. Who would want to transfer to Alabama? No one… You couldn’t pay an employee enough to move there.

So over time, all states will chose to opt in.. It’s common sense, sort of like choosing to eat a peanut butter sandwich instead of pointing a loaded 357 magnum at your head and pulling the trigger.

So this option, even with the opt-out clause, will eventually give us all 50 states with the ability to serve their citizens the public option if those citizens wish to subscribe…

Common sense says they will. After all, if 55 Republicans vehemently bawling against the public option for regular citizens, use public health care for themselves… (Medicare and Medicaid, both which work well, are forms of the public option), then it must be good for the rest of America.

The private option will still be available… There will be no change in anyone’s insurance which they currently have, except perhaps that their rates might go down.

Former president Clinton will be in Delaware November 10th for the Jefferson- Jackson Day Dinner.

Anyone today not making enough money, looks fondly back on the days when this human being diminished the Republican party, rendering it completely harmless so that prosperity reigned for all… Anyone today not making enough money, wishes we currently had another Bill Clinton who could not only shut Republicans down, but shut them up.

Across this nation there is a caustic poison slowly infiltrating and sickening America. That is the verbiage from the official Republican party, when in truth, all of today’s suffering stems from THEIR Great Depression. THEY are the sole reason 1/6 of America currently lives below the poverty level today. Like the fly who walks across your food with shit still on their hairy legs, this party has and will continue to cause Americans to get sick without the proper antidote. ..

If you feel drained and need a spark to help you eradicate Republicans from interfering in your space, for only forty five dollars you can get your batteries recharged by America’s greatest living hero. The simple antibiotic to shutting Republicans up, is the will to respond to their idiocy with simple common sense, each and every time one of them is stupid enough to open their mouth…. Yes, and that includes Mike Castle…

America is fiercely angry at having been misled, mistreated, and raped for the economic benefit of only a tiny few Republican party supporters. The Republican party not only allowed it, but supported, campaigned for it, and actively had a direct hand in making it happen.

Having a hero inspire us helps one fight back against the villains a little harder, giving one the will to aim the flyswatter a little more carefully, slam it a little harder, and make sure one doesn’t miss their target so the little bugger never comes back to buzz your ears and land on your head with their filthy stinkin’ little feet…..

A true hero is one who heals. May the Republicans grovel and continue to lay their eggs in their own shit and feed on their own. We just need to keep them away from America’s food supply. Bill Clinton provides just the antibiotic we need to heal America against those germs these pests consistently use to contaminate us… Keeping those germs from preventing a plurality, seems to be the proper goal we should set to establish the level that renders them harmless…

We cannot afford one more stinkin’ Republican. Shut them down, and shut them up.

Just expose their stupidity every time they open their mouth

Delawind receives a state loan. John Carney, who is running for Congress, is head of Delawind. Some are putting two and two together and getting their signals crossed to say Delaware is loaning Carney money to run for Congress..

Now I disagree… and the basis on that disagreement is solely due to my prejudice in the last syllable of John Carney’s company. …… wind…. To be honest, were Republicans giving loans to a Republican, I would follow the same tack… unless that Republican too was head of a company that either dealt in bringing offshore wind power to Delaware, or improving our state’s educational system.. The two basic areas our state needs action in right now….

One of the saddest events not covered in recent times is that fact that Delaware after reaching a historic agreement to get the first offshore farm started, got melted by the Republican Depression that brought America to its knees…. Those visionaries who study numbers, KNOW offshore wind will one day line the Atlantic coast from Florida to Cape Cod. Just like visionaries in 1809 KNEW that railroads would one day connect both of America’s oceans.

Delaware cannot afford to let any other state get there first. WE MUST BE THE ONE, if we wish to have any quality of life whatsoever. We must be the one….

And with the loss of our prime sponsor, Babcock and Brown, we must look elsewhere for investors to plug into the future of the eastern seaboard… That will take money…

And that money needs to get loaned…. even if its to the only company out there that is trying to do the right thing…. Even if the head of that only company trying to do the right thing is running for Congress….

Delaware has no choice but to go offshore wind in a huge way.. We have to be first. We have to get it done. We have to do something now… It’s a damn good thing that someone is out there doing something to make it happen… We need jobs. We need to be the center of the next generation. We need the Eastern seaboard’s equivalent of Silicon Valley somewhere here in these three counties… We need that source of revenue.

Otherwise we will have no choice but legalise prostitution, just so we can tax it for much needed revenue…..

Judging from today’s chatter or lack of it, I was probably the only one listening in on Rick Jensen’s take of the spending controversy of our state legislatures… As you see, in the News Journal a list of spending on out of state trips, has been itemised for every citizens perusal….

Bonni got on the horn, received radio time and helped Jensen lambaste legislators for spending money…. Unfortunately… that’s what they are paid to do, (just not spend it on themselves)…. Well, I had to wait, since Delaware is not 4G yet, to access the actual chart from Delawareonline.… Of course some anti Democratic party corruption accusations were tossed about… Of course…

So, imagine my surprise that 14 out of the top 17 spenders were all Republicans….

To myself, I said “figures”…. They are the ones shrieking the loudest about governments spending money… But as an investor myself, I am well aware that money spent that gets a return is not wasted money, but invested money… That is something Republicans always overlook… They concentrate on Democrats spending, without looking at the benefits such spending generates…

So I took a look at the top spenders fully expecting to see itemised bills for hookers and gigolos… Unfortunately they weren’t there…

I did find that almost all of the money spent by both parties for travel out of state, went to send legislators to two groups.

One: The National Council of State Legislatures

Two: The Council of State Governments

Some may decry these as junkets. I’ll disagree. The largest problem a small state has is diversity of ideas. Face it. Practically the entire top third of the state are Eagles fans. The middle third are Raven Fans, and the bottom third are Redskin fans… Were something innovative such as the West Coast Offense were to occur, we would never know about it…

The same occurs in government. We need access to ideas. One can sit a a computer only so long… (Many of us spend way to much time there anyway)… But, face to face, arguing in the halls, listening to what’s worked elsewhere, has the realism of saving our state money… If an idea gets offered up in Oklahoma, but failed in Arizona when tried there years before, it saved Delaware lots of money NOT to have brought that idea back and tried selling and implementing it into policy… And sad to say, the realism of finding these things out can only occur when you bring people together, face to face.

So I’m in favor of most of the money spent. It is very necessary. Both parties cry out over the iron fisted grip that only a few people have over our entire legislative process. Getting outside ideas away from the top down leadership structure both houses of General Assembly use to survive, is helpful to all Delawareans….

During the past budget crunch we especially needed to outreach and discover different ways to cut costs; something even our most ancient of legislators had yet to experience in their lifetimes.

What was interesting was how fast people reached for the information to bash the other side. It doesn’t matter which party… Without checking the facts accusations were flying across the airwaves… Listening in you heard the Republicans bashed as hypocrites; the Democrats castigated as wasters… But truth-be-told, all this travel was necessary… and will continue to be, if this state is to continue to exist as America’s second smallest state….

I’m reminded of the ancient Kubrick film, where with the discovery of a monolith, a prehistoric apelike creature picks up a loose bone laying on the ground and bashes in the head of its enemies… That is sort of what happened today on the Rick Jensen show.

The bone, was just an inanimate object in an unlucky position and an unlucky time….

If you have any, get out now.

Here is what can be done to insurance companies with only 51 votes in the Senate.

1) Revoking the insurance’s companies favored antitrust exemption.

2) Tacking on a $40 billion dollar fee to be paid by insurance companies.

3) Tacking on a windfall profits tax for insurance companies and making it retro to 2006.

All of which cost the Insurance far more than competing against the public option.

These measures have now hit the talking stage, upon notification of the release of the insurance companies fake report which shows that the public option will raise premiums across the board… Lets hope they come up for a vote soon, And if Health Care is passed, we should keep the pending penalties imposed on these insurance companies. They should learn not screw with America.

The Tinyest Squawk Can Make the Biggest Difference

In Robert Reich’s recent plug for the public option, there was a subtle line that slipped by and only just now has begun to resonate…

“Unless you make a hell of a racket, the for-profit insurers and drug companies along with their platoons of Washington lobbyists. and lawyers are going to win this thing….”

I started thinking. You know if one of my kids squawks and the other is silent, the silent one loses out.. I succumbed to the easy way out and just go with the flow, after all it makes little difference to me..

Then i thought of office politics. You know, if a certain group squawks loud enough, upper management always caves into their viewpoint even when the squawker is considered the biggest joke on the floor… nothing more than a pain in the ass… After all, it makes little difference to them, and if it shuts up some asshole, and no one else seems to care, then you know, why not….

So it makes sense that the squawkers arguing against the public option may bend the ear of Congress to the point that when considering the huge vacuum of silence on the other side, they may just cave in against their better sense, and keep all insurance private…

And the 80% of Americans behind the Public Option, get dismissed…. Why? Siimply because you didn’t stand up for your rights when they really mattered…

The arguments have already been made as to why the public option will lower everyone’s medical costs. I won’t reiterate those explanations here. But, I will tell you that 5 years from now, when your house gets foreclosed to pay off medical bills, you will be yelling, or squawking for someone to do something….

And it will be too late… For that someone was you… And the time is now…. and for whatever reason, you chose to do nothing…..

So here is what you must do, if you don’t want to lose your house….. Some of these people I know, it won’t make a difference to. But that is no excuse not to plead your case…. For you, and others, all combined may just make such a “hell of a racket” that for your representative to vote against the Public Option, would not just cost him his office, but cost him all credibility as a future lobbyist, especially in the field he is hoping to retire into.

So do this for yourself, your children, your grandchildren. Pick up the phone, call these numbers and tell them you plan on keeping your house, so they had better vote to allow the public option in the health care reform bill… Remember it takes everyone to make this work…. or if you want special treatment…. just drop in….

We need 100,000 callers… That’s 1/8 of Delaware. And if, you, like someone who graduated from Colby College, just happen to know someone in Maine… or if you, like someone from Bozeman, know people in Montana, or if you, who served at Minot, know someone in North Dakota, get on the phone… and talk them into doing the same thing…

It won’t cost you much… maybe a little time, it will be a chance to catch up with old friends, and……. in 5 years….. you could still have your house because of it…….

John Carney, former Lieutenant Governor, is campaigning for the Democratic spot on the ticket for U.S. Congress.

In a recent series of town halls, he has brought up questions from the audience on health care… He has found that the topic is contentious, although not in the way you would imagine after seeing crazy Eileen go after Mike Castle…

Instead his audiences are informed and angry that the public option is having such a difficult time in the Senate and House Bills as they come out of committee.. It just so happens that one of our own Senators sits on one of those committees, and after sitting in several of those town halls on health care, it would not be farfetched to say, that candidate John Carney was upstaged by someone who wasn’t there… Tom Carper..

The point blank question directed at Carney several times, was this one: Are you going to be another Tom Carper! Now I did not realise Tom Carper was disliked so much. But the meeting erupted into a discussion of Tom Carper. Poor John Carney was left to say “i can’t speak for Tom Carper. I can only speak for John Carney.”

Ironically, the audience didn’t care about John Carney. However, they were hot on Tom Carper. though. And they were quite wise.

The consensus in that room was that Tom Carper was scuttling the public option at the behest of Astra Zenica… Tom’s co-op’s plan is not a public option; but can give him cover to say he supported some type of public option when and if he goes up for another round…

Carper had no friends. He was not liked by anyone in the room. Carney was probably the only one trying to deflect the animosity by defending Tom Carper briefly at first… but being a political animal, he too relented and joined the crowd expressing disappointment over the fact that the public option would not get Tom Carper’s full fledged support..

It is rare when the invited guest speaker gets upstaged at his own engagement, by someone who wasn’t even present. But that is what happened when questions were opened about health care.

It appears that Americans will insist that the public option be an item in the Health Care Bill. By “must be”, it is the litmus test over whether change will come to the health care industry, or whether things will remain the same….

John Carney was put on the spot.

“I came here to join your campaign and support you. But if you’re not going to take the opposite tack from Tom Carper and not going to support the public option, then I simply can’t vote for you…

America knows their salvation lies in getting some form of public option legislated this year. It would be safe to say, that after this past week of town meetings, U.S Congressional Candidate John Carney, now knows it too….

Carney’s campaign will center around increasing the number of jobs. His theme will be simple: we need more jobs…period. He quoted Roosevelt in saying the best social program, is a job… Passing the public option will do just that… It will increase jobs and get Americans back to work faster than another mega bailout….

Listen for John Carney to say “we need more jobs… The public option is a tool to get more people working. I support it.”

Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize today.

Republican’s are outraged. What did he do that was so great they exclaim?

They may be right. I was surprised as well. My first thoughts were I don’t remember hearing anything spectacular he had done….

But the answer is embedded in the actual transcript…

Obama has as President created a new climate in international politics. Multilateral diplomacy has regained a central position,

So essentially all he did was say “let’s talk about it”. Nothing really. It is just that compared to the vileness, the odiousness, the hatred, the bombastic-ism, the ego preening, the recalcitrance of the previous REPUBLICAN administration, just saying “let’s talk” is an earth shattering proposition.

He won the prize not because he was so good… but because: THE REPUBLICANS WERE SO BAD. Horrible really, a national disgrace.. America is paying the price for it today.

This metaphor best describes it.

It’s as if one drained a sewer and let nature take over. Those who stood at its lip and quaffed at the odious stench a year ago, returned one year later to see a few blades of grass and flowers sprouting… noticed a tremendous difference… And to anyone living near that sewer, the difference is cataclysmic… No smell, no putridness, no gagging, all traits experienced under the Republican leadership…

So some credit is due. Obama drained the sewer. But it needs to be remembered, his winning of the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009, is not a measure of how he was so great.. he is normal… It reflects instead, that the Republican Party is so vile, stinky, with a putrid smell that makes one vomit, that any improvement, however slight, is welcome..

The reputation of the demised Republican party has been forever demeaned. In fact, if I had ethics of the Republican leadership (which I don’t), I would race to establish a business getting rich by offering parking and a towing service at the base of every bridge, just so Republican’s could hurry to throw themselves off them….
