Tough being scheduled between two super events, both outlining their respective areas for the next years. Hat’s off to the Giants. Entitlement takes another hit. But in a game to be remembered we saw what maybe some of the best football in our lives. If any broad and grand platitudes can be derived from a sporting event, it would be to never give up: keep trying. One never knows how it may go down. But in typical American fashion, the upstart team, the 5 seeded wild card entry, was able to do what not other team accomplished this year. Beat the Patriots.

Some may make comparisons on how the Super Bowl went down, and how Super Tuesday WILL go down. The stories are similar. One team marches flawlessly like a machine, the other has recently started. One has been ready for this moment since 8 years ago, the other was assumed to sit this one out, until Oprah bent his ear, and currently has momentum going for him.

Those of us who saw Obama today, no doubt will eventually persuade ourselves to cast our vote in his direction. Yes, he was that good. Many who still remember Kennedy (JFK) and Martin (MLK) can make accurate comparisons between orators of old, and Obama. But…..twenty two states vote tomorrow, meaning there are quite a few voters who are unfamiliar with him personally and have been supporters of Hillary for a long time.

My prediction: it should be interesting……. Speaking with a young lady who will be poll watching for Obama, (because she signed up today to do so) I discovered that she still feels feministic guilt and may, may quietly throw her vote to Hillary.

From more than one person’s perspective, Hillary needs another New Hampshire moment before two fifths of her delegates are chosen. In my discussion with this young lady, I was made to understand that there does seem to be some empathy that is stronger than dogma, if the “moment” is tastefully done.

As to the visit Delaware Liberal did not disappoint, providing articles, links, and pictures if you were unable to attend. DWA has a mother/son (Hillary/Obama) team live blogging from Rodney Square. (Read the comments). Tommywonk and others provide a different perspective as was seen from the vantage point provided to the “Delaware Press Corp.” Even FSP, in true bipartisan fashion, yet naturally wishing his candidate Mitt could have commanded 20,000, acknowledges the uniqueness of a Super Bowl Sunday appearance by a major candidate, just 2 days before Super “Dooper” (stupidest named)Tuesday.

Over at Delaware Watch, Dana and Steve have started tag teaming up for their adventure in Democratic Radio, which offers some financial investment opportunities. His last three posts could certainly be thrown together under the tag: “Death of the Republican Party.” First rhetorical question he asks: If the Republican party is so great, why then are Republican legislators fleeing it like its a dinner party and the last person to leave pays the check?) At least they have one candidate for Governor who represents real people for a change.) Will they find another? (We were promised our answer after Feb. 5th.) Delaware Watch then shows us the unraveling of the Bush administration among supposedly his best supporters: the troops doing his fighting for him in Iraq. Dana and Steve inform us that calls from State Governments have begun resounding across our great country: LET OUR PEOPLE GO! And to prove conservatism in its current form is dead, we see that those old harbingers of Reaganism are doing quite poorly when Republicans have the actual chance to vote their conscience, instead of having media millionaires tell them exactly what their conscience is and should be. If any broad sweeping statements can be made about today’s political process, it is that “Change is in the Air.”

Speaking of change. A must read on Duffy’s Pencader Days, (It was buried so I’ll quote a brief segment here):

Sean Hannity has lost his mind. I was in the car yesterday listening to him recant on virtually everything he’s been saying for the last 8 years. Suddenly, drilling in ANWAR is a bad idea, Guantanamo Bay is a bad idea, we need to update Conservatism, John McCain is a good, honest guy, a wall on the border isn’t the answer. On and on and on. He’s either a naked partisan who’s sucking down McCain flavored Kool Aid at record rates or he’s literally lost his mind. Either way it’s not good. (I see the Hannity camp has deleted a link I previously used from him: the one stating a McCain nomination will ruin the republican party.) It appears change truly IS everywhere……..

Especially among former Republican candidates. To the unskeptical, having Ting support Obama’s vision of hope is as graciously unbipartisan as they come. No doubt he was pushed along by his wife who is a big Obama fan. Allan Loudell has more depth, and one soon gathers from reading, well, perhaps his take is not so unbipartisan after all?

Change is also blowing through our Libertarian Community. Shirley is up with a post she hopes will change how men deal with “honesty”. And just to show how inspiration travels in circles throughout our blogosphere, Mike’s Musings has inspired our favorite curmudgeon, to change her reading habits and take up reading…..even if it requires getting a new library card. And just in case you were unaware of how much change as transpired from her youth to now, she provides this reminder. Steve provides a clue as to the direction Libertarians will be taking.

What is profoundly clear from the results (of Libertarians) are that pragmatic Libertarians are in the ascendancy. Virtually every survey question was answered with large majorities favoring a common-sense rather than an ideological approach to Libertarianism as a modern American political movement.

Steve has one of the more interesting maps, that show America’s dominate religions, segregated by county. From my little knowledge of a few counties scattered across this nation, I would have to endorse the maps as being accurate. Alan Coffey seems to still be on vacation.

But speaking of change, the Libertarian Blogs all have a conspicuous absence, relative to the months leading up to tomorrow. Ron Paul seems to have disappeared. Dana gives us his clue as to why, but those who looked into the charges Dana brings up, determined they had as much import on ones ability to govern as did Kerry’s swift boat days, and George Bush Jr’s. cocaine use, and faked Air National Guard papers. Libertarians! (Last post January 24th, Shirley) What happened to Ron Paul? Alas, another change seems to have “done gone and passed“.

Hube at the Colossus shows us how fashion changes from when a 6 Million Dollar Man was something, and now we have 30 million a Quarter Dollar Man.

Joe at Merit Bound Alley, weeks ago changed his wallpaper. He also has a different opinion towards the Super Bowl.

Perhaps commenting on the most profound type of change that can affect one personally, Nancy comments on her mother’s birthday. She would have been ninety yesterday. She also comments on the wind change in Wilmington and Philly on how we deal with crime. What I sense is that personal safety has taken over our sense of liberty. Tired of the crime, attempts to Giulianize Wilmington are being heralded, not condemned. One has only to look to the sea change New York underwent when the same policies were enforced there, to appreciate their value. Question: do innocent people get caught up in the dragnet? Certainly the first time, but not after the second, third, and possibly the fourth. They learn to change their behavior.

Speaking of someone learning to change his behavior Tommywonk has the story about this guy. It was also posted in Delaware Liberal, Delaware Watch, Delaware Way. It is a welcome sign that perhaps rational thought might win the day for a win inside the secret caucuses of our General Assembly. This is a powerful move, whose ingenuity and daring should be noted. It also brings up another relevant question as the two debate. That is: which of the two would be able to handle recalcitrant legislators, more effectively. This move by Carney has placed them on unsecured footing: Imagine preventing new jobs from benefiting our citizens! Thats exactly what the “bang-up four” will do if they continue their actions opposing cheaper power for Delawareans. One can only hope change is coming. It can’t get here soon enough…………………
